Also as long as the game is not even finished, why spend the time to create these 4 Trees?

Wow. A total of FOUR trees, and NO props? No sunbeds? No umbrellas? No beaches?! CO keep getting worse.
How many palm trees do you want? Four would already be sizeable compared to the trees that are in the menu already.
Secondly, this isn't "beach" DLC or expansion. It's beach properties.

@@Undercapsule there are sunbeds and umbrellas and much more if you use dev mode. You can even create a Beach with dev mode

Next they can sell us a bike lanes and bike paths DLC without the bikes. Or even better a Zoo DLC without animals...But i guess you'd just say "this isnt an 'Animals' DLC or expansion. It's a ZOO"

They charged a large amount of money for a partially working game with missing content and features, then they refuse to talk about the problem and only fixed a couple of the major points that need fixing but left a lot more and now they ask us more money for some beach houses and 4 trees…

What I mean is the game doesn't have props without devmode or mods.
To be fair, this is an asset pack and not a full on DLC. I certainly wish there was more to it as well. Like actual mechanics of these buildings wanting to be near beach fronts and not just anywhere.

because its obvious that this was rushed. they suffered a lot from the backlash and had to do the opposite what they said in the previous WOTW.

There are actually just 2 palm trees with one short and one big varient
because the vegetation is so sparse in this game that most of the maps look the same. Lack of diversity, some other boulders, bushes, cacti, yucca etc...@@Frank-mb8ds

with this dlc is also a major patch update, along with the Paradox Mods.
they've been fixing bugs steadily this entire time... also a major bug fix is coming out the same time as the dlc (also modding support aswell)
That is why they focused so much on moding, so other people can fix their game for them. Look how well that has worked for minecraft over the past ten years.

Well technically they do need money to fix the game in the first place, but CO is funded by paradox which is a billion dollar company. So making dlc for this game in this state is bs.

Earning money is the whole reason the game got released a year before it should have been, paradox wanted short term money.

Releasing new content despite the game still barely running with no fixes in sight and still no release on Xbox or any news on it
They said patches will come with DLC and other content updates. So expect many patches with this.

Along with Beach Properties, there will also be a substantial amount of Performance updates and General Fixes & Improvements. We hope to see much improvement to performance, especially on lower-end spec computers.

While I'm glad to finally get the DLC i paid for, i can't help but agree with others that the core game should be completed first (modding, performance, bugs). This pack also looks a little barebones judging by this trailer 😬
To be fair, the people involved in asset creation, like artists, are probably not the same people working on modding, performance, and bugs.
They wrote in another comment here that modding support comes when this DLC releases. That's great, I'll probably start playing it a while after that.
I know I definitely expected way more. And still looks boring AF. Probably get a better experience reverting to sim cities.
It was honestly always the modded buildings I really enjoyed in CS1, most of the default buildings looked quite bad (especially the first ones). Can't wait to see what modders can add.@@BenjiSimsYT
If you read the blog post you'll see that this pack releases. As well as the whole modding beta update, plus bug fixes and performance updates. And perhaps, some free items/update.

I get peoples frustration.
But people the design asset workers arent the ones who would otherwise be working on performance improvements. You dont call a plumber to do electrical work.
Luckily management get more resources to the folks fixing the game, and not only for asset creators to milk more money from the 10 people or so who are still playing the game... right?
Well they announced region packs on October 2023 and they still havent been released either so.
@@MisterMotel And they keep saying that Asset modding/importing still needs work and that's why they haven't released the region packs yet. I start to think they just want to sell DLCs and releasing free assets as well as asset creation would lower DLC purchases. Edit: they've posted an updated roadmap on PDX forums. It doesn't say anything about region packs but new paid DLCs. What a joke.
@prodbyNOVAER i think you are totally right. Its all about the money. If assets still need work how can this can be released but the other free packs cant? Its the same just free.
@@prodbyNOVAER The region packs are dependent on the asset mod which is still not ready. The mod beta releasing next week is map and coding mods.

I know they painted themselves into a corner and only have themselves to blame, but, if you look at Reddit and other places you get a split in the comments
They announce they are concentrating on bugs, people ask where is Modding and Asset packs

Maybe they should focus on one thing at a time so nobody gets confused. Fixing the core game that is. But no they announced region packs in October, (still not here), they announced fixes (still not here) they announced modding and assets support that we will probably just get at the end of the year in a maybe working state. They announced console release, well that is never going to happen if it cant even run on a 4090. And yet here we are. a rushed DLC with BEACH in the name but has nothing to do with the beaches, just more basic assets and 4 new trees wow. And they even dare to ask money for it. This game is SimCity 2013 all over again.

Colossal Order, please remember, many players arent hard core mod fans, or arent into too much detailing. We like to play the game as a simulation. More building variety is a must. We'd like also better terraforming tools, better looking building lots on uneven terrain, and be able to plop smaller public service buildings (smaller medical facilities, smaller schools, and so on).
I was expecting only two palm trees. Maybe three, but four? They really went above and beyond this time.

They changed that to something like, we will slow down patches and bring them out along side DLC, minus minor bug fixes.
Can you use a terrain brush for sand or concrete like in the first game? I don't remember seeing one. Otherwise how do you create proper beaches? The game still has no support for quays either

I purchased all dlc for CS1 on PC and console so I'm what you call a customer. To not have even an update on the console version of CS2 is a slap in the face.

People asking about modding and bug fixes. There's a forum in the description that says the first beta of Modding is coming along side this on the 25th of March. And also a "substantial" amount of performance improvements particularly on "low end systems"
EDIT: looks like Map / Asset Editor is also arriving. As well as three explainer videos about the modding tools on the 19th, 20th and 21st of March.

@@Darknova591 This has always been clear. It's just that bunch of people like to doom monger rather than understand reality. Yeah, we get you, upset about this and that. Move on and wait until things get added and fixed. Now the much griped mod support is coming and things will improve in other ways too. It was a bumpy start and would have made sense to postpone until now and release the game on first parts anniversary but that didn't happen. So the next best thing to do is to live with it.
Really glad you’ve been working on this and not doing the one thing that will make your game better -> getting modding working…

How is it going with the console version?
I really really hope that CS2 can grow to a fully functioning game. I have thousands of hours in CS1 and happily paid for the DLCs because I felt I supported a dev that cared and a game I liked. It was cheap at launch and became a great game.
But the launch of CS2 just feels dirty and like corporate money-grabbing (Thanks Paradox!).
Now you have to play your cards right to win over the core players/modders/streamers again. This should be free for starters with a big fat apology letter attached.

If you have the deluxe edition you get this dlc for free, but if you only have the base game you need to buy it. Alternativly you can get the big bundle with a small discount but I won´t risk it

Let me get this straight, it's 20 assets for two regions, which in turn means you only see 10 assets of whichever region you pick. They claim there are 60 assets, but only 20 are unique, and the other 40 are just level up varient. And 4 palms tree which look like shorter or taller variety. This is peak gaming.
This will actually make cities more alive and fun to make with beachside cities/ communities
What about us that brought the Deluxe edition before release? No discount? Nothing?
