Any chances of a save download? I don't have a CC for patreon but I'd love to get my hands on this save and try my hand at expanding myself (I'm really bad at starting cities from scratch, but with a starting point I think I could do cool stuff.)
I think you forgot to put the 2 farms back & if you unlock the Nuclear Fusion you might have enough to export. Also now that you have the Airport what about the Spaceport?
@@Infrastructurist RIV is already taken in the US, but also RVW would work (in addition to my suggestion above of RRA for "Riverview Ravenwood Airport").
PLEASE do an entire Episode on public transport! There are a lot of areas with almost no transit (or at least you didn't show it) and also the existing network should be overhauled. With more trams, more passenger rail and more buses, with improved interchanges. Maybe some express buses too.
I support more public transit. Make this into an american city of the future. Detailing what different development and differing, frequent, numerous public transport can do to catapult an american metropolis to efficiency and above all, prosperity
London Heathrow got its name from the hamlet of heath row that they obliterated to build it. So the airport should be called Riverview Ravenwood Airport with the iata code RRW or something
The ICAO Code for London Heathrow is EGLL, used by the airline pilots and the navigational systems, however the IATA code for London Heathrow would be shown to passengers as LHR, using the syllables (i think?) to make a shorter name to use on messaging boards.
Glad you find them relaxing Daniel - 100k would be awesome, but also challenging as I don't want to rush in a ton of high/medium density without thought 😂
I always thought the population mechanics were a bit dodgy in both games. Your city is sprawling and if something similar existed irl I feel like more than 50 thousand people could live there.
The mesmerizing music in the timelapses is just perfect. It's that kind of music they play at night on the radio that just makes the time fly by, since there's no defined beginning and end. Perfect for timelapses
I like that you take time and make all the details fit eachother. I don't like to watch other YTubers not giving a fluff about building being in weird angles cause of terrain. You make the most beautiful and detailed cities! Love that!
The airport code should be *RVX* if you want to be realistic - Most common convention is to use first three letters but RIV is taken. Also use first letter of each word or syllable but RVV is taken. Many airports in the USA kept their old two letter code with X at the end (like LA to LAX) but RIX is taken. Therefore RVX is the next best option.
For the Airport Name: Douglas Carlson Regional Airport - DCR Douglas Carlson was a old miner who founded the first mines in the mountains of Riverview, besides these mines don't exist anymore, he had big influence in the outcome of the city. Normaly the short Airport Codes just are there for the luggage sorting system, often it's a shorter version of the Name with 3 letters.
Just wanted to appreciate the great work, the tone of your commentaries and the didactic aspect. I've picked up tons of techniques from you which make the gameplay so much more interesting! Thank you!
I get more ideas and learn more from you than any other Cities Skylines builder. Your road building is beyond artistic, very realistic. I truely enjoy watching you build. Keep it up.
Woop woop 🎉 You definitely make the best looking complex arteries, seeing all the activity buzzing around really makes the city feel a huge living microcosm
Make sure to add a K before any airport identifier (3 letter code) you choose. American airports follow this rule. For example, Dallas-Fortworth International is KDFW. You should do KRIV or KRVR. A lot of airports choose to mode their FAA code and IATA code after their city name.
By far my favourite cs2 series, I just love the way you build which has the perfect blend of aesthetics and realism. Just wanted to say that I would 100% watch a 30min video that was just one to two minute clips with a still camera watching different areas of your city: hubs of activity; intersections; following transport; even just a stretch of road in a quieter district. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I could sit for 20 minutes and just watch people arriving and leaving the airport. Can't wait for more!
You should add a Metro aswell. I think most people use to many stations on subways. So maybe make one which connects only to the most important places. Such as the small island with ferruswherl, east riverview, downtown and the dense spot you created last episode next to the incinerator
Airport name suggestions: * Riverview-Briar Rose Airport (RBR) * Riverview Airport (RVI) * Riverview Airport (RIV) Btw, 44:12 + 44:19 "4K Riverview At Night" wow, at those time stamps I felt the atmosphere of the city
Loving this build! The work to remove the median near the train station's parking entrance @ around 21:50 really highlights the need for driveway aprons imo... especially with how almost every asset has a built in parking lot, it would be great if it makes a little gap in whatever grass median or sidewalk is there to connect more seamlessly with the road
In regards to the name maybe Ravenwood airport, since that neighborhood was demolished to build the airport, and the locals would probably still refer to the area as ravenwood. Usually ariports have both an IATA code and ICAO code. For the ICAO, since it's in 'murrica, KRVW, KRRV, KRVD; K being the geographic indicator of america followed by some sort of letter mix from the name(city/airport name). IATA can also be a mix of letters from the name, like RVW RIV RIW RVO ROD. In regards to all that, a suggestion would be to rename the entire district to something like "ravenwood transport hub" since, well, it kind of already is one. love your videos :D
Ive been watching a lot of creators building their cities, but I gotta say every time you zoom out, I think yours genuinely looks and feels like Im looking at a google maps of a real city. Amazing build and job, honestly the build is one of the best on RUclips.
When it comes to the airport codes, just keep it simple. Usually, 3 letters that come within the name of the airport. For example, JFK is just (J)ohn (F) (K)ennedy Airport, MIA is (M)iami (I)nternational (A)irport. So honestly "RVA" ((R)iver(v)iew (A)irport) or "RIA" ((R)iverview (I)nternational (A)irport) would make sense for its code.
Does anyone else just appreciate Infrastructurist's dry humour and music choices? It's his commentary and general vibe that I always love tuning in for!
You should add a post sorting facility, post office and some sparse (no smokestack) industrial off to another side of the airport. FedEx and UPS a lot of times have Sorting Facilities, Ramps and Stations at airports for their air express services.
Riverview is really coming together man! I can’t wait to see more growth outwards and really start to see the scale of this metro! Keep up the fantastic work man!
This is by far my favorite cities skylines lets play out there right now! I'm simultaneously loving it and dreading that I'm nowhere near as good at the game. Anyway keep it up, love this series!!
Best episode so far in my opinion. The things that you can do with the new road tools make the place so real and that is super cool. Keep up with the amazing work.
Usually airports names come from important figures from the region or the country. JFK airport in New York for John Fitzgerald Kennedy, CDG airport in Paris for Charles De Gaulle, Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta, etc. Given that Riverview is a fictive city, it doesn't have a clear history, with important figures. So we will have to invent historical ones if we want the airport to have this type of name. That being said, I'd like to thank you for this serie of videos on the city of Riverview, I really start to get addicted to it. It so nice to watch and so interesting to see how the city is growing and developing episodes after episodes ! Can't wait for the next one !!
Can we just talk about how you evolved as a content creator? It's amazing to ser how you went from a shy player to a real youtuber in less than a month! Keep it up man! ❤
please add a subway system around the city. the overground station looks really cool and is quite a bit smaller than the train station. i think it would some great new perspectives and sight lines to the city.
Always love the care and detail you put into every build! Would love to see that same level of attention put to the development nodes (which may help with some of the smaller issues) I'm looking forward to when you expand the Riverview region beyond the mountains, as it seems like a tough challenge without the crutch of terraforming. Keep up the good work ❤
Thank you, will do my best! And I am definitely starting to feel some geographical limitations by now - which is also why we will be starting new series', soon! To have more projects to work on at the same time ☺☺
The public code may be just RVM (RiverView Metropolitan) and ICAO code for pilots would be KRVM (usually this is how it's done in the US, unlike Europe: DME is UUDD)
Before watching this video I thought I should share something about your channel. This channel got me hooked to City Skylines 2, even though I have not started playing it as of yet. I feel relaxed watching you build, expand and modify the city according to the requirements and aesthetic sense. So, I decided to watch another channel for this game and well... It triggered by ADHD a lot and I could not get the same feeling of relaxation after watching it. Your channel or should I say You pay attention to detail especially in road placement and taking care of it being straight and not being crooked, and also the Aesthetics of the buildings, the spacing between them and the detailing. This is exactly why I enjoy watching your videos a lot, the only downside being waiting so long for the next video to be posted. I really enjoy watching your videos, your gameplay and the attention to detail you pay to everything. And I hope your posts are frequent and we don't have to wait that long for it.
Instead of going so office heavy near the airport (which produce intangible goods in CS2) you want industrial (for warehouses and machine shops), high density commercial (for hotels), low density commercial (for fast-food, gas stations, & souvenir shops). Also, most airports have their own fire department and police station on premises or near-by. You might want to leave room for the helicopter infrastructure for police and fire to be near the airport as well. Oh, and helicopter tourism! I subscribed for your checkerboard mixed-use neighborhood zoning approach, you're the only creator I've seen do it. Brilliant nod to realism; and the best way to integrate uses and needs throughout the city. As well as break up what kinds of buildings spawn in an area (much more effective than playing whack-a-mole).
It's kinda funny how everytime i watch one of your episodes i have a sudden desire to play cs2, but when i go into the game itself im just getting demotivated because i cant build anything remotely beautiful to this, keep up the good work!
You don’t understand the amount of excitement I feel anytime I see you post a new video😭keep going, please! This is probably the best CS series I’ve watched:) I really enjoyed the way you play, so realistic and beautiful! I’m definitely gonna use your city as an inspiration when I get my hands on CS2😅
Maybe a weird suggestion but name the airport after a ‘random’ person in the city (like he’s famous), just like John F Kennedy Airport, and then make the airpor code, as it is called, 1St letter of first name, 1st letter of surname, and then X
KRVM - Riverview Municipal Airport, like other small but higher capacity airports that have grown overtime, RVM began in the early days of aviation and slowly grew alongside the surrounding infrastructure to soon support cargo 757s flow by FedEx from Memphis and numerous regional airline connections to major cities like Baltimore MD, Chicago's Midway Airport, and Newark NJ. Hopefully this is a cute little backstory for the new airport!
Saw your post on Reddit and it took me a minute to figure out why the city on the background looked so familiar lol. Great vid again and amazing building skills you have man!
The international airport may be huge but you save space on the train station, which it has embedded along with large amounts of parking space for cars.
A funny solution, still calling the airport Riverview Airport but the IATA code is RIO (Spanish for river😊). Also you should add some crossings in front of the airport rail station and I think they disappeared in front of the airport
unfortunately RIO is already used to designate Rio de Janeiro. IATA codes can designate a larger metropolitan area for multiple airports in said metropolitan area. in the case of RIO, it is also used to designate Galeao Airport (GIG) and Santos Dumont Airport (SDU)
Like Hong Kong, the official name for the airport is HKG, but it’s also locally known as Kai Tak (old) and Chek Lap Kok (new). I think it’d be cool that it’s officially RIA, but only the locals know the R actually stands for Ravenswood, what was there before.
I have lived near an airport twice in my life and it is not much fun because of the noise. The best place for it was when I was posted to Germany and they had an amazing way of dealing with noise pollution: there was a ring of greenfield around the site that was heavily wooded, beyond that there were industrial buildings that provided support to the airport, followed by commercial areas and then there were housing sites, but none of them were the kind of housing that you have like the low density houses as people don't want to go out in to the garden in the summer and listen to jet noises as they take off. The road layout here is amazing and as complex as most airports who seem to just throw roads together while drunk and making wagers on who can come up with the most insane road layout and the fact that you have all the transport links reminds me of Dusseldorf or Schiphol, it looks great. I'm surprised you didn't choose underground parking terminals as they take up much less space on the surface and you can put in more spaces for the real estate they take up. Relatively new to the channel and happily subscribed, you videos are always great fun to watch. 😀
Glad I discovered you early on, you've definitely claimed your spot as one of the powerhouse content creators of citysims; quality editing, great pacing, excellent audience interaction. Keep it up, love to be here for it :>
What an amazing city!!! I’m really enjoying watching the entire series. For the next episodes I think it will be super fun to create an university and focus on education and high tech industries. Also a subway system it would be super cool. Congratulations man!!!🎉🎉🎉
One of the best cities I ever saw in CS! Such a masterpiece! You should dedicate an episode just for transit, there's a lot of areas without any transit. Guess I'm one of few brazillians here xD 🇧🇷
Read about ICAO and IATA. Gives you a good understanding of how airports around the world are named. Perhaps KRIV since its a North American (K meaning US, and RIV for Riverview)
The level of detail and realism you are able to squeeze from the vanilla game is second to none, Infra! I'm addicted to your content, and the more complex infrastructural projects the merrier, this is what makes your cities look like the ones we know from real life, other than the boring, perfect grids. After all, you're Infrastructurist, so you know your stuff mate! I wonder if you could attempt to make an area that's rough around the edges with what's currently in the game? The area near the port could work well for a place that's a little less successful. 😉
Great episode. I would suggest the airport to be named the "Riverview Regional Airport" as it is a smaller airport, with the ICAO code "KRIV" (K is the designated ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) code for the United States), as this is a North American build. If Riverview is in Canada on the other hand, the code could be CRIV (C = ICAO code for Canada).
i love this series, its so immersive and realistic that i actually feel bad for the neighboorhoods you bulldoze / for the quiet districts that now have to live with loud trams taking tight turns in their neighboorhoods. I think this speaks more for the realism you are able to create in your series than anything else.
If you want to add some more realism to the airport, you could use the storage upgrade buildings for the recycling plant as jet fuel storage units, found on the outskirts of many airports, they all have the cylindrical shape and a sort of half dome on top. Loving the city so far!
Farm land is really popular in North America as filler between airports and houses, additionally the farm land is heavily restricted access and surrounded 8 foot razor wire fences. But it might be cool to put some additional farm land to separate the airport from the dwellings because noise pollution.
🤔 I used to live across the street from LaGuardia tho ...no farms. S. Florida airports ...no farms. Seems like a cool idea tho. I'd say build housing to the coast.
@@mrgooglethegreat I think it depends on how much space is available, because the Central Nebraska regional airport has precisely what I described. a more mountainous example might be, Denver International airport, which has the same noise barrier farmland and has topography much like the terrain of this map. Florida doesn’t have arable farmland, and a much higher demand for non marshland space or the mountains that this map. This map doesn’t take place in southern Florida…
@@Lil_Tom351 I didn't know central Nebraska even needed an airport. Crop dusters don't need all that infrastructure airports have. Lol jk. I'm an SC4 player that's skipped CS1 (downloaded it a lil over a month ago while I guess it's been out for years) and is going straight into CS2 from the Sim world. Really tho that's a great aesthetic idea to put farms there. I might try it in my next build. In SC4 I keep my farms far from my city and nowhere near airports.
Your city is always breath taking to look at, wish I had your artistic designs. Also most airports codes contain three letters for the city they are located in, so for Riverview you could do: RIV RVW There really isn't a direct structure to the naming convention.
An IATA airport code, also known as an IATA location identifier, IATA station code, or simply a location identifier, is a three-letter geocode designating many airports and metropolitan areas around the world, defined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA)

As well as break up what kinds of buildings spawn in an area (much more effective than playing whack-a-mole).
you can code the airport something like: RVA or RVV
The best facelift of Riverview so far in this engaging series, simply lovely. Please keep surprising us, thanks a ton!😄
It's kinda funny how everytime i watch one of your episodes i have a sudden desire to play cs2, but when i go into the game itself im just getting demotivated because i cant build anything remotely beautiful to this, keep up the good work!
44:15 Whoa. That looks just like portland Oregon from a certain angle. WOW
Thanks for the compliment Gidichi! I'll do my best ☺
@@Infrastructuristyou’re welcome and thank you! :)
You're turning into my favorite cities player ever. I'm honestly baffled and amazed by each video. I've learned so much already, keep on going. 🙌
The international airport may be huge but you save space on the train station, which it has embedded along with large amounts of parking space for cars.
The airport reminds me of Reagan National (DCA) in DC! Would love to see a wealthy suburb next. Keep up the good work!
This was such a satisfying build to watch!
A funny solution, still calling the airport Riverview Airport but the IATA code is RIO (Spanish for river😊).
Also you should add some crossings in front of the airport rail station and I think they disappeared in front of the airport
That is an interesting approach! and thanks for the notice Rob, I think I missed something completely hahaha.
Thank you for the support! ☺
unfortunately RIO is already used to designate Rio de Janeiro. IATA codes can designate a larger metropolitan area for multiple airports in said metropolitan area. in the case of RIO, it is also used to designate Galeao Airport (GIG) and Santos Dumont Airport (SDU)
My suggestion for the airport RAF, Riveview Air Field
Like Hong Kong, the official name for the airport is HKG, but it’s also locally known as Kai Tak (old) and Chek Lap Kok (new). I think it’d be cool that it’s officially RIA, but only the locals know the R actually stands for Ravenswood, what was there before.
I love your videos, it is relaxing and fun to watch you design this city. I'm willing to watch the development of this city as long as it takes.
Some of those intersections.....whew.. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should lol
Loving the series so far :)
Amazing content, the city is coming on so good. Can’t wait to see more and just how big Riverview will get.
It slaps me in the face everytime you redo old districts with historic old homes. It always looks good dont get me wrong but dang!
Been watching your content for a while now. Might I say, your attention to detail is immaculate.
I think Riverview may be one of my fav CS2 cities yet! I guess you’ve earned a sub as I’m a returning viewer 👍
I agree with @V3rtecs with using Riverview as the airport name and the airport code RIV.
The city looks beautiful
I really love your videos!
The city is incredible and is really relaxing to watch you build
Very happy to hear that, thank you!
Love your videos man!! Always remember to take care of yourself first! We'll be here. Cheers from Peru!
Congratulations man!!!🎉🎉🎉
Your cities are a huge inspiration and keep me playing this game - eventually my cities will start looking more “natural.”
What a perfect timing for the new episode to watch it on the couch on my birthday
Big congratulations with your birthday, hope you have a wonderful one!! ☺
@@Infrastructurist Thank you! And the IATA-code should be RVM for Riverview Metropolitan :)
Hey bro keep up the great work. I love ur vids. Best cs2 RUclipsr rn 😊
Hey Archer, thanks a lot, glad you like them!!
Amazing work! I love the recap in the beginning to keep everyone up to speed! Great idea!❤
One of the best cities I ever saw in CS! Such a masterpiece! You should dedicate an episode just for transit, there's a lot of areas without any transit. Guess I'm one of few brazillians here xD 🇧🇷
watching your video in morning with breakfast is all i need
I'll take that as a big compliment! You got a good cup of coffee sorted as well? 😀
@@Infrastructurist nah i dont drink coffee
Read about ICAO and IATA. Gives you a good understanding of how airports around the world are named. Perhaps KRIV since its a North American (K meaning US, and RIV for Riverview)
In awe of your ability to design cities I love cities 2 but hate all cities I try to design. Amazing work 👏
Such a beautiful city! Buen trabajo mate!!!
Beautiful job! I like the new airport: Gnoss Field
Love this city, it's beautiful. Wish my city irl had public transportation as good as this lol
Thank you for another great video! It is much appreciated!
If you want to add some more realism to the airport, you could use the storage upgrade buildings for the recycling plant as jet fuel storage units, found on the outskirts of many airports, they all have the cylindrical shape and a sort of half dome on top. Loving the city so far!
Most realistic CS2 city I've seen.
Yess, it’s Infrastructurist time
Man you are building a beautiful city, i am so jealous, wish i could make something like this once.
It should be called TCA, which stands for Tri-City Airport
Your city is always breath taking to look at, wish I had your artistic designs. Also most airports codes contain three letters for the city they are located in, so for Riverview you could do:
RIV
RVW
There really isn't a direct structure to the naming convention.
An IATA airport code, also known as an IATA location identifier, IATA station code, or simply a location identifier, is a three-letter geocode designating many airports and metropolitan areas around the world, defined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
