The beginning does, but then it’s all different, with both tracks having different themes going for them. One sounds like enslaved animals working for Robotnik’s evil scheme. While the other sounds animals singing for a feast in celebration of Sonic saving them.
In the Good Future, the palm trees are mechanized, but they are giving off with clean, flash colors. Star-shaped plants both function well and act as water transporters. Pipes run water via the area, sometimes making mini waterfalls of their own. Many living adorn the area, and the region seems to be entirely water-powered. Sonic got the Good Future and saved Palmtree Panic from the evil forces of Dr. Robotnik. Although it is maybe mechanized here on the spot, the natives in the tribe are still relieved that their preserved land is free from Robotnik's control and are celebrating with rejoice. Now they can finally live wildlife and nature with freedom together in harmony. Up next on this quest, Sonic speeds off to battle and win against Robotnik's Badnik Boss in order to proceed to the next Zone.
@@billyseward4252 For the EU/JP version the natives are celebrating and cheering for Sonics victory that he saved them from the intervention of Eggman and managed the advancement for their society pretty well without "the need for eggman"
I like this version of the Palm tree Panic music from the US release of Sonic CD, it’s tropical, it sounds nice, and it makes you feel like you’re in a tropical paradise
The Japanese soundtrack is more emotional in general. Sure, the bad future songs are outright nightmarish, but the good future songs sound huge celebratory parties; whilst the U.S.'s soundtrack is more downplayed in comparison. Not in a bad way, it just means they went a more subtle direction with their bad future songs expressing solemn lamentation and disappointment, and their good future songs exhibiting soothing gentle tones conveying relief. Both soundtracks are equally good, IMO, but for in distinct ways. I enjoy each of them but for different reasons, and frankly, wish more people did.
Not all the JP BF songs were nightmarish. Collision Chaos sounds more disorderly. Tidal Tempest is a robotic rave. Quartz Quadrant is just fast-paced and a bit heavier. Stardust Speedway is like a streetrace at night against the cops.
my good old copy of sonic CD had this song play whenever you beat a level (instead of whatever song it should've played) so the first few seconds of this are very very asociated with a satisfactory feel in my brain. I liked the change back then, like "oh, it gives the game a whole different mood than the genesis chimes and stuff"

I swear, it’s like this game saved all of its musical prowess for the good futures or something. ‘Cause while I’m not a fan of most of the other level themes in the US soundtrack, the good futures almost always sound amazing.
This feels like you just saved the an entire rainforest from being destroyed. Or at least brought some animal life back into Mazuri from Eggman and his creatures.
People can say whatever they want about the US soundtrack, but I mean... Listen to this! This is gorgeous. Much better than the overly happy, exaggerated and upbeat JP soundtrack in Palmtree Panic in my opinion. I like my OSTs chill and serious, thank you very much. The JP one isn't horrible, but I do prefer US for personal reasons, as it's close to me.
I think this would be meant to play on the the past stage, but there was no time to change the code in less than a month so they changed to the good future
the version is better than japanese version the japonese version is very happy but it does not go according to the future well instead the american is better
Likewise, in the US version don't sound so happy, since you still have a long way to go, something that I like about this area is that now the plants are mechanical, but they are there for a good cause, it can be seen that if the Technology is used in a good way, it can benefit both subjects
Animal Island Zone "An Island that is home to many animals (African, South America, and Australia) that are mostly native to mobians for they live in an african village-like environment, life can almost always be peaceful and breathtaking there, but when Eggman decides to plant his badniks there and cause trouble, its totally different, but Sonic is always on the job and will as speeds his way through the jungle while using vines to progress as well as small tunnels, boardwalks, and waterfalls where platforms appear and disappear every 4 seconds."
I wonder if you can use machinery to boost the amount of oxygen created in photosynthesis. What we have in Palmtree Panic is basically cyborg trees, mechanically boosted. If we manage to do this, we might actually completely stop global warming without compensating our daily lives too much.
The marimbas (?) and saxophone in this version are quite nice, but like the Bad Future rendition, this one just doesn't quite do it for me. Definitely prefer the Japanese track here.
if they had gone all the way and changed the theme for the past along with all the others, then this song would be better off as the past rather than good future
Fun fact: The US versions of Palmtree Panic Good Future and Bad Future are part of the same song, which is why they sound, essentially, the same.
The beginning does, but then it’s all different, with both tracks having different themes going for them. One sounds like enslaved animals working for Robotnik’s evil scheme. While the other sounds animals singing for a feast in celebration of Sonic saving them.
