[FIXED] Black Bars On TV Top and Bottom With Brighthouse or Spectrum

- In this video I show how we fixed the black bars on the top and bottom of a HD TV on the Spectrum (formerly Brighthouse) service. This issue is caused by the old school RCA aka composite video cables. Connecting the TV to the set top box using HDMI resolves this issue.

Placing my cable box video settings to normal, then my Sceptre 4K UHD tv setting to Zoom worked perfectly. Thanks!!! The key to getting rid of the black bars was inside the cable box settings. I was using the Zoom setting in my Xfinity cable box but I should have been using the "None" setting.
That doesn’t help me any I have i a Scepter 4k tv and there is no option to change the screen size I only have wide, normal, zoom and cinema
My pic res wasnt on 1080i. Thanks a bunch man. And btw, the spectrum rep didnt think to ask about this. Smh
Helped me with direct TV! Vizio thank you so much. The line was making me crazy
I have the reverse situation- the HDMI CAUSED the black border. My set top box died and Xfinity sent a new one. Unlike the old one, the new one has a HDMI port in addition to the coaxial connection. I used the HDMI of course and got thick black bars all around the picture. I then switched to the coax cable and the black bars went away. I tried different aspect ratios etc. I think it may have something to do with trying to run SD over HDMI but...?
The first thing everyone should check is if they’re using HDMI, even if they don’t have black bars.
Didnt work for me set at 16.9 aspect hdmi full
I have this type of issue my accident I didn’t know what I hit in the remote and all of a sudden while watching the RUclips it was square in the middle of the TV screen. Thanks
i use xfinty i use the 3 cords live tv still runs Full screen Except youtube
i use xfinty But Live tv is full screen But youtube and netflix Have black bars on top and bottom why
my settings are all correct, using hdmi and still black bars all around
C G I got no problem with letterbox.
I put a hdmi converter on new tv it was bad it’s used for hooking new stuff to crt tvs
If the composite cables don't work, why are they included with a new HD TV?
very good question
@tom bailey has raised very important question. Can OEM of Infinix 55"inch TV answer this question.
It didn't solve my problem even the TV set to 1920x1080 and/or using high quality HDMI cable. My problem is: TV logo and MTRCB rating are inside of black bars and image blurry even it's 1080
Hay Bro. Can you please make a video How to change Windows 10 logo Upside of OEM logo not the Oem logo i know that.

Thank u I had the wrong 😑 hdmi 🤦♀️
I can find zero answers why my shitty RCA-that I very much regret getting-experiences about 90% of the time, the tv having a black bar across the bottom only, and the screen is squished. 10% it’s totally normal, and I have no idea why. Happens sometimes when I turn the satellite on and off or it reboots at 3 am. If I catch it at 3 trying to reboot, and it’s the normal ratio, I’ll cancel it, and get at least another 24 hours with a normal screen.
Only a problem on the second box of Dish, not usually the first box (which is more flipped 90% to 10%, good to bad) and Roku is fine too, but this tv is stuck on the second Dish box til the end of time, so this sucks.
this didn't help. I am talking about the black caption bar. I just want the words captioned not sitting on a big black bar.
I see these on my Xbox series x when watching blu rays
Hate it
Ultrawide is a pain in the butt and will never succeed
Uu

Um that junk work for me all u had to do is go to tv setting and press wide for the Vizio TV but your write about 1 thing HDMI is better
