I have this model in olive green with the tough bag and the weather pack, its the most awesome shelter for my camping. If you guys ever decide to build an enclosure to attach to the vestibule I`d buy one in a heartbeat. I bet a lot of other owners would want one too.
Man, this would be perfect to go fishing in the winter times or the summer with the A/C I use a cheap pop-up tent with blankens on top to help insulins with the heater or the A/C depending on the time of the season would love to have this but it's a little pricey 😬
@@AverageOverlander marginally…the thermodynamic properties of fabric mean that the color of the tent doesn’t much affect the temperature. All colors will get to final temp m, the back will just get there faster (by a few minutes) so I tell people to chose the one they like aesthetically best. The big deference between the grey and the other two is that the grey has grey interior walls while the black and green are black out tents.
Just like any tent you can’t store it wet for a long period of time. But we’ve also torture tested our units and I’ve left a soaking wet tent in its storage bag inside of garbage bags and in a garage for 3 weeks. Opened her up, washed the tent with dish soap and let dry and no mildew or musty smell whatsoever. This is addition to tons of real world research we can safely say mold is not an issue. Also check the site we recently partnered with NikWax and they make an awesome hydroponic solution that will help even more.
Yes, so to explain…these footprints were designed originally for desert so that you don’t get sand inside everywhere and for the rain what we do is roll the footprint under the skirt of the tent creating a barrier to keep the water out from under the tent. Video of this coming soon.
@@Mangold108 not made in the USA, the accessories like the bags are though. What came first in this space was ice fishing shanties the 90s everyone else just reappropriated the tech.
With the rainfly, how waterproof is this tent? I live in the northeast where we get heavy thunderstorms with heavy rain and 25 - 35mph winds and I am curious on how this tent will handle the heavy rain. Any issues with leaking? Also any possible discounts for Miltary/First Responders?
Firstly we DEFINITELY have a discount for you. Second with the rainfly properly placed and staked down AND the tent itself staked down correctly with the footprint rolled up under the skirt correctly the basecamp does really well in the rain and exceptional in the wind. For more specific info give me a call and we can go through all the scenarios and see if this is the right tent for you and if it is I’ll pass on that discount code. Hit me up! 5622329907
@@overlandish thank you for the quick response. I have been stalking these tents for years now and haven't seen them ever go on sale, we just haven't had the extra money yet. We're a family living off grid and it seems like a good option to add some extra living space.
@@ericasylvatica6505 we very rarely go on sale. Send me an email on Monday I have a small coupon code I can extend your way if it helps. That or you need to find us at the shows. We will be at expo west in flagstaff in a few weeks.

Coming soon! Just playing catchup.
I live in New Zealand how can I buy one of these tents
I live in New Zealand and we get heavy rain and winds. Do you ship to NZ?
Does the black fabric make it hotter inside than the gray or green?

Does it get damaged by mold as easily as the Shiftpods do?

wouldnt the rain just go ontop of the ground sheet and into the tent?

Mark, is there a video showing proper setup of groundsheet for rainy conditions? Basically just roll up and tuck under tent skirt?
Thanks
How tall are you, for reference?
I’m 6’2” I can stand in the corners completely straight up (that’s where I touch)
