I met a girl with anxiety and she actually had a panic attack during our presentation and it was nothing like you would normally expect. She just left the group before her part, told the teacher something and collapsed on a chair. We didn't know she had anxiety because most people with anxiety don't usually overshare it, we got mad at her, but then the next day she opened up to us and apologize a million times... I felt bad for her bc we thought she just ditched us, it looked like it, when in reality she could barely move or talk or ask for help.
Edit: for those concern with her!
The teacher understood her situation and gave her a chance to hand the written part of the presentation(or the whole thing, I don't remeber). It was down a few points but she was abel to pass after all. She's doing better, taking some meds and working through her anxiety. Last time we met, her speech was improving, she takes pauses but keeps going.
Sometimes, you just need to talk things out.

I have anxiety and panic attacks really can vary... sometimes I'll hyperventilate and when that happens I just leave the room coz I don't wanna draw attention to myself and other times I'll zone out completely, I can't hear a word anyones saying, I'll sit there in silence and kinda rock back and forth. It's so scary either way and I hope she's doing okay!

I know a girl that does this and she said it "self diagnosed" but the only "symptoms" she has is losing self control and on purpose to seem like the victim in our class group chat arguments and I have like real diagnosed anxiety and it hurts me sometimes to see someone fake something that can actually be really bad. In addition people that i have met with anxiety and myself and others i can almost assure you that we don't mention our anxiety to everyone as frequently as some people do when trying to fake it for attention.

So true. At one of my old schools we had to do a production/concert that was mandatory, and I was never compatible doing it because of the sheer quantity of people staring at me and the panic attack risk. The teachers made me do it though, and I had panic attacks during all the practices. It did a number on my mental health.

YES, thank you. I HATE people who self-diagnose, this one girl did (her mom agreed???) and it sucked because she had zero of the symptoms other than, like headaches, crying (half the time for attention), occasionally getting overwhelmed, and I think some gastro-intestinal stuff (was mostly due to another thing though). And people will be like haha lol I have anxiety and aren't diagnosed and have few symptoms....I've had it since before second grade and I legitimately cannot go out in public (alone) because I will have a panic attack and when I do and I'm around the stressor I can't stop, also my panic attacks cause wavy vision, dizziness, nausea and the hyperventilating which means I could pass out.

I have diagnosed anxiety and i really really hate how some people at school pretend they have mental disorders like anxiety, ocd, depression, etc and use that to get out of stuff and then act like its some sort of quirky, cool, “im not like other girls” kind of thing. When i have to present something to my class i shake uncontrollably and cant breathe right. I have to take medication every day and go to therapy. Anxiety is not cool or quirky, it sucks.

I would make more friends so they would stop talking behind my back but as said previously I have trouble talking with people and people at my school already hate me :/
And the thinking that we’re faking it, idk why like “ am I doing this on purpose unconsciously? “ why do we have to feel like that, it gives us anxiety about having anxiety, and we cant get help since we’re not sure if we’re faking, so it’s just a lose lose lose situation 😓

Ur body thinks you need to run so releases to much adrenaline in way to short time- you don’t need to run so you don’t- and your body can’t handle it so you shake- but monster of the time you won’t feel this mentally

This is so true! As someone who was professionally diagnosed at a young age, people who pretend to have anxiety and panic attacks can be really annoying since most the time they just have them to get out of doing something in class. People with anxiety don’t typically share when they are having attacks and most people try to keep it to themselves. * not saying everyone does, but most people* So if you are just doing it for attention I suggest you stop, most people don’t care about it first of all, and it doesn’t make you cool. Anxiety has literally ruined my life because every time I personally have an attack, I can’t think of anything else. So just be aware if you fake it, its not a cool thing to have.

@@durtis967 I haven't been diagnosed by a doctor so sometimes I think I'm faking it :( and the reason I think I have it is because my hands and feet are always cold. I have headaches and stomach aches, sometimes nausea when I'm nervous and I've had panic attacks before. In my first panic attack I had to call an ambulance because I felt like I was having a heart attack, it was sooooo bad. Oh also before an attack I usually feel pins and needles in my back and it feels harder to breathe. But again, since I haven't been diagnosed, I sometimes feel like a fake, I felt very bad because one time I couldn't do any work at all for 2 weeks because I just couldn't concentrate or think straight and I was very alert, I fell so behind on my classes. Sorry I feel like I'm rambling on too much but I do feel self-conscious like, what if I'm faking it?

And i don’t mean the people who were nice about it and saying that they knew people with anxiety, But all in all, did the world really have to get to that point in life were everyone gets furious by the littlest things?

I know a few people like this at school and I've tried to figure out where they're coming from, because very few people are actually annoying just to be annoying. Honestly, what it comes down to is that people who act this way either 1) want to feel cared about or 2) want to feel validated.
In the first scenario, yes, they're "doing it for attention" but its because maybe that's the only way they know how to get people to care or notice them. Everybody deserves to be cared about, and even though they're going about it the complete wrong way, giving them a chance to talk, or directing them to someone who will listen, is more constructive than calling them obnoxious.
In the second case, people who act like this just want their emotions to be validated. We live in a society that more or less tells us that if we don't have a mental disorder then our mental health is fine and not worth talking about. It's very black and white. Emotions like anxiety and sadness and self-loathing are still really sucky emotions, but because it isn't depression or an anxiety disorder, those people are dismissed and told it's just "normal emotions". Yes, they are emotions, and no, it's not a mental disorder, but supporting people through those emotions will not only prevent people acting like this, but also prevent some people from developing mental illnesses in the first place.
I know that was really long and probably hard to follow, but I guess what I'm saying is try to think with empathy. People who act out like this don't understand the struggles of people with mental illness so it's really easy to dislike them. But try to remember you may not know their full story either. Have a great day and if you're having a hard time, keep fighting!

Also me: having such a bad panic attack I couldn’t eat, drink, or move my face ✨
Not all people are faking mental disorder they just don’t know how it’s happening
And or when someone rants to you but you think it’s not real listen to their reasons

This is a spot on. Exactly how I feel if I ever share that I have anxiety... Because it's always seeking attention, overreacting. Because disorders are real only if you're keeping them to yourself.

there’s a difference between being an anxious person and feeling anxious and having actual anxiety.
just like in order to be properly diagnosed with depression it needs to be a continuous pattern for at least 4 months. you can feel really down and sad for 2 months and there’s still a possibility that it isn’t depression. that doesn’t mean your feeling are any less valid. your feelings are ALWAYS valid, but please go to a psychologist (wouldn’t recommend a doctor as often at times they will just prescribe medication when that’s just going to numb you. You should work through what’s making you feel down at the root of the problem) and get proper and good help.

i once had an anxiety attack at my grandfathers because there were too many people there. i was shaking and crying so much. after i finally calmed down i felt like throwing up and i felt super sick. i was laying down on the couch and i felt like i was gonna pass out. i was all alone and only my mom knows this happened to me. i had a panic attack later that day, i even had a panic attack before my anxiety attack by a bit. i forced myself to walk, i felt super tired and sick, i almost passed out in the car as well (i sometimes get car sick as well). it was a horrible experience. my social-anxiety and introverted ass really can’t help the pain.
