so true, tho. and when they're done, they act like they just ended bullying, but no. it will NEVER end. an assembly will not make a person nicer, and a sad story will not change somebody's ways.
Yeah we had an assembly almost evry year about bullying, and did that change how people treated me in those 5 years? no- So yeah you are very correct!

For us we had anti bullying assembly’s with way over exaggerated scenarios (Someone goes up to you and beats you up, laughing with their friends and everyone cheering then they walk away leaving you) and how to tell if someone is depressed.
The only thing they ever really talk about here is how you should feel bad for the bully and have compassion because “they probably have something going on in their life” and how bystanders are more guilty than the bully like bruh
They only talk about bullying and drugs and they can't even do anything when somebody gets bullied

In my wlementary school the same kids that would hang up anti bullying posters bullied me. They were also the teachers pet so the teachers denied what they did
In elementary my best friend got bullied and the teacher completely ignored it

To put it simply, there was an attempt), the day after it, the only thing she was concerned with, despite the topic of the meeting being about the severe bullying he was experiencing, was the fact he wouldn’t be attending classes that day, and made a snide comment about the fact he was wearing normal clothes, as we have a uniform.
This is a heart of a kid before they get bullied.

They're so insistent on making kids feel welcome and all that and act so touchy-feely and "mental health is important" but first of all, if they cared about our mental health at all they would stop giving so many tests and homework and second, whenever you go to a counselor or anything about bullying or mental health they just try to work around it and say "maybe you can talk it out with the bully or be friends", or "just take some deep breaths". Honestly, it makes me feel like they don't give a dam and they probably don't. I know counselors that are super nice and have good intentions but they probably arent allowed to bring up serious topics. And with school nurses, all they give you is some half-liquidated ice not because they don't care but because they probably don't have the supplies to go any further. Schools gotta up their game man...

My school’s motto is “no place for hate,” but when there’s hate they do nothing about it. My school was once once on the news and you could see like 70 something parents just mocking the school’s no place for hate motto. They have these little, “inspirational” flowers on the wall, paper flowers with “inspirational” quotes on them, one says “Be a Unicorn in a field of horses.” Like if that doesn’t tell you what my school is like I don’t know what will. The funny thing is that student council are the ones putting up the posters, but guess what they’re the mean ones.
My school has a *BULLY FREE ZONE* poster in the cafeteria, but it has a 🚫 sign over it 💀

I had one where a guy did school shootings and when people asked why he said it’s because he doesn’t like the thought of school because he was being bullied. Also, when reading your comment, I almost cried too 🥺.

Can I just say how true this is? Every assembly is about bullying, being nice, or being a good citizen, and they always try to make it “fun” with singing and stuff like that. But when people actually get bullied, they do nothing :(

It's so true though! Especially the end when "Fight Song" was playing. I think everyone who has ever been to public school will understand. This especially reminds me of intermediate school.
At my school for the older kids, they’d have Live Different come in, they’d set up a stage and sing like it was a whole concert or sum, then they’d tell their sob stories and we’d get little plastic bracelets at the end like the singing part was fun ig but like y’all doin too much. I also remember getting bullied and i told the teacher like they tell you too and she said “talk it out” and so i did and it kept happening so i ended up having to have a whole yelling fit with the girl who was bugging me. Now i just stand up for myself cuz nobody was gonna help me
The people who help me are my friends my siblings and cousins i cant even stand up for mydelf
Story:
So at grade 4, my friend has a "dark humor" notebook filled with dark stuff that are COMPLETELY for jokes. My English teacher saw the notebook (while my friend was in the bathroom) and that's where the entire assembly started-
So she talked about how suicide (yes suicide was mentioned in the book) and said it should be taken seriously. So my classmates start to wonder on who owned the book and thought they were "depressed/emotionless ✨😭⛓💔🖤🔪🥀" so I told that it was my friend.
I forgot what happened next but that's all I remembered-

my school did this is elementary where
they gave us all a paper each, told us to crumble it up. Then try to flatten it again which non of us could do. Our teacher then said "and thats basically what happens when we bully, the product repesents a child's emotions before they get bullied while the crumbled up is the after. even if u try to uncrumble the paper it'll always still stay the same.". the whole time this was happening I was like 🤩. where now I'm looking back at it with this 👁💧-💧👁

In my school we literally had these "rock kids" guys come in and we would do singing and dancing. At the time everyone thought it was super cool, but at some point the older kids got annoyed lol.i still remember a song saying:

What's funny is that they tell u not to fight back or even defend urself but when my 'bullies' (I wouldn't call them bullies since they were just pathetic and bored) had taken things too far by stalking me all around school everyday. I fought back like how i usually did but i was really pissed so i took it a bit too far by slamming one of the girls entire body against a gate causing her to cry and break her shoes. I got in trouble which was expected but the next week she came in, she apologized and wanted to be friends and after that she was a lot better towards me. i'm not encouraging violence but if things continue even after u tell them to piss off then u have every right to defend urself even if it is a bit of violence because theirs nothing wrong with inflicting the same pain onto others be it emotionally or physically, if they only say things to u and it hurts u then u can attack them because the pain u felt when they were emotionally abusing u is the amount of pain ur giving to them but except its physical instead. Once again violence isn't good and if u take it too far like bringing in a knife etc. Then that's taking it a bit far. Schools are dense and feel like they have a great amount of power because their given the permission to 'order' children around and that's exactly why they get so heated if u were to ever go against them even if u meant nothing bad behind it. Don't feel like u have to rely on adults that's all im trying to say :>
@@dp12938 That's interesting because ur right, there are only few trusted adults/teachers that will actually help u but that's a rare find. Instead of telling a student "You, should have told the teachers sooner or else it wouldn't have escalated further" maybe they should just give an actual damn instead of guilt tripping a student who just was too insecure and unsocial to say anything. But hey it's how school works and sad enough not just schools.
I had an anti-bullying assembly where the main charachter broke into a school vandalised if and put all the pages of his friends diary on the wall which makes him want to run away just because he laughed for like 10 seconds when he was pranked in public like a bully.
THE SONG AT THE END WAS SO ACCURATE LIKE EVERY TIME
We had a bullying assembly 4 years ago, the person sat at the front would be handed a piece of paper with a child’s face on it. They’d pass it down the rows and we had to crumple it up, then the remaining half would spread it out. Then they passed it back up and ppl would crumple it even more and then they would realise and start spreading it out. Entertaining 10 minutes

Teachers and schools are always like “tell the bully to stop and if they don’t come tell a teacher.” I never witnessed or been bullied from what I can remember, but I know pretty darn well that if you tell a bully to stop they ain’t gonna stop. And whenever you do tell a teacher they don’t even stand up for you. Like if someone is harassing you and hurting you, do they really think they’ll stop if you ask them? There’s nothing else you can really do in that situation but hit them or punch them in self defense. And what angers me is that the victim gets in trouble and not the bully. 😡 Way to go school for protecting your students

My school does this all the time but the adults freqeuntly use the quote "Self defense isn't a thing here." I've been explained to so many time if I defend myself or somebody else, I'm in just as much trouble. It doesn't matter if there's a video recording to show who punched first, both are being punished equally. Yet we have frequent assembly's and presentations on how awful bullying is. That's basically saying "Stand against this! But if you do anything about it we punish you."
they make the assembly so dramatic all the time, thinking that it will just stop bullying as a whole. in reality, posters and sad stories are just useless, and when the victim actually fights back, they're the ones who get in trouble.
