100% agree. It is an indie game, so it does not have the budget of the Divinity team, but it feels so much better to play from a D&D tabletop perspective in my opinion. Cheers!
Just beat main campaign with shock wizard, fire paladin, thief rogue, and life cleric. Game was hard in first couple battles then became mostly a breeze. Still very enjoyable. Lots of spells and skills that aren’t functional in game but lots of room for growth. Just started DLC campaign and it’s def got a different more exploration theme focus which I like. Much harder tho. Maybe brokenly so. Getting wrecked at third level by surprise road encounters.
I agree 100%. The main story is tough through the Defiler fight. After you hit level 5, and get past that fight, you are pretty good for the rest of the game depending on the difficulty you have it set on. I also agree the Lost Valley DLC is better and more difficult. On scavenger mode me and my buddy got jumped by 10 thugs at level 3 as well.....10...We had to reset and travel at slow pace to avoid it. Cheers!
Hoodlum Rogues are a blast to play as well. They get to use any weapon to sneak attack with, so you could sneak attack with a 2H weapon (you get Medium armor and Martial weapon proficiency from Hoodlum) and with the Follow-Up Strike feat you wouldn't even miss out on the extra attack you'd get from dual wielding. Also, they can Dash and Hide as a Bonus Action, so you can do that and still get your main attack in. They are crazy mobile. Lategame they were doing 70+ damage on a crit (half-orc with a crafted Stormblade Greataxe) and you can roll those on AoO's too: They just need a flanking buddy for their SA to activate reliably, and there's no reason it can't be that enemy that decided to run past you to stand adjacent to one of your casters.
I really like this game more thsn divinity and baldurs gate. Simple yet elegant but still makes experience overall pleasanr ans engagin. Might get back to the teo former but for now im loving this game!
This is a fun play through. I am also playing through it with a buddy of mine was well. Like divinity it is much harder when you have to work as a team. NO DONT CAST FIREBALL I AM IN THE AREA OF EFFECT! Cheers!
Paladin is honestly a better fighter in this game. I've never run into a situation where i'd want a fighter over a pal. With smite alone it overpower a fighter in terms of pure damage. But of course you'll need to roll higher stats to be functional, which is not a problem here as you can reroll those as much as you want. If you're into array or point buy then fighter might contend.
Only reason for Fighter is Action surge resets on short rest, so I like the extra attacks in conjunction with Haste. However, I guess you could argue divine smites do more damage and you get a good amount of them later on where they would out scale a fighter.....Cheers!
Especially for people who play 5E D&D. The combat in this game is so spot on to a D&D table! They just need to work on the character interaction a bit more. Cheers!
Love the game, it was a pleasant surprise; I wasn't expecting to play something like this for dozens of hours, but it really sucked me in. The gameplay (especially the combat) is stellar, one of the best I've played in years! The story and the interactions are sometimes goofy and amateurish, but they do have a charm, I don't think they are so bad as some people describe them. I am also enjoying your content a lot, thank you for the very useful info and rundowns about classes, races and best skills!
Thank you for the comments and post. Yes, This game is a lot of fun from a turn based strategy perspective. If you play D&D tabletop this is as close as you are going to get from a gameplay standpoint. Yes, the voice acting, interactions, and story are garbage, but for a small indie developer they had to give some where. I will say the Lost Valley DLC was an improvement, and hopefully if they can keep making money off of their DLCs it will continue to improve in future content releases. Cheers!
Trying to get my buddy into tabletop, figured this was a good intro. Months later I bought it for him and forced him to play. First session was like 10 hrs.
thansk for the video , is it possible to use 1 light domain cleric and 1 templest domain and 1 wardomain cleric in your party ? or even use 4 clerics in your party
I'm loving your content and will keep a look out for more videos as more games come out, but I'd strongly suggest getting a pop filter for your mic. When you talk about Paladins, things are being knocked off my desk lol.
Lol, I had one, then took a break from recording for awhile due to work and office changes. I never added it back on. Once I get things settled again and get an office back, I will get my setup going again. I will try to not to annunciate my Ps as much lol. Sorry for the earthquake! Cheers!
damn...I was taken by surprise! it could really get into your nerves....like, how the shit can I not beat the supposed easy conflict? damn...took me really hard decision to reset.replay....grrrh
Rogue sneak attack has nothing to do with it being piercing. It has to be a light/finesse weapon and they basically have to have advantage on the attack. 😂
This is a tactical game with little storyline. You need to find some way to gain advantage. Otherwise play with a lowlife Ranger who is still good to deal damage with a Marksman spell rather than sneak attack.
none. I finally got absolutely sick of teh dev breaking the games saves and rendering them incompatible with whatever changes they made this time. Uninstalled the game, and removed it from both my STEAM and GOG libraries.
coming from BG3 as newb to DnD , solasta looks like more loyal to the dnd rule.. but omg the character faces are ugly like hell , i mean 2004 WoW vanilla have better looking char
Yeah - Solasta is more similar in playstyle, but BG3 has more things that are identical to the D&D source books. Both are good in their own way. Cheers!
@@VaniverseGaming Maybe next time do a video like . paladin = ZzzzZ . barbarian = hell yeah . druid = kaka for the low IQ impatient kids that dont enjoy all the work u put in your video . hahah
Thank You LothWitch and sotiris, I think these are both great suggestions. After the DLC I will probably go back and make update videos to put a bow on all information for the game. Cheers!
We've had an absolute blast playing this game. It may not be a Divinity or Baldurs Gate, but what it does it does very well.
100% agree. It is an indie game, so it does not have the budget of the Divinity team, but it feels so much better to play from a D&D tabletop perspective in my opinion. Cheers!
From a tabletop perspective, even though I'm most familiar with v 3.5 rules, this game has been great 👍
I really like this game. The genre is new to me, but I'm having a great time with it.

Glad you like it! this is one of my favorites since I am a huge D&D fan. Thanks for dropping a comment. Cheers!
My buddies and I just started this game excited to play it as we have already beat divinity.

Fighter damage stays consistant. And get more criticals. Pallys are better until they run out of spell points.
About to do another run with barbarian, druid, warlock and paladin. No intelligence class this time
Good luck! that looks like a a monster party even if they are all dumb lol Cheers!
This game honestly surprised me it’s pretty well rounded

Is it possible for you to create an update for the video? After all, more classes were added in other DLCs.
I will add it to my to do list to try and go back and update. Cheers!

can u take 1 lv wizard so you can get all spell
not in Solasta. There is no Multiclassing unless you use mods. Cheers!
Took a break from the game came back close to beating the game all lvl 10 got sorc cleric fighter rouge doing pretty decent

I am not liking this game, at all.. bot knowing the 5e riles doesnt help, but the game itself feels extremely limited, and janky.
Yeah, if you do not know the 5e rules I would think this game would feel like that. Cheers!
