    Great tip about dipping your finger in water before smoothing down the hot glue. Thank you.

    Hi, do you change the size of the skull cap by head size at all? Or is this a universal size?
    Thank you ❤️

      It's basically a one size fits most skull cap, but if you used the template to make a cap out of paper first, you could easily tweak the pattern to more closely fit your head.

    How would I go about adding a chin strap? And is it worth adding some sort of fabric/felt lining on the inside?

    • @Kevinpdoheny
      @Kevinpdoheny  8 месяцев назад

      I think I'd probably wait until I finished making the entire wig or headpiece, and then try to add a chin strap. That's just in case you need to end up trimming any of the skull cap on the sides. You could then use contact cement to glue the strap on each side (inside) of the skull cap (just a suggestion).

    How do you make sure it’s secure on someone’s head? I’m about to make a ghost rider foam wig 🔥

      A couple of ways. First, since I made that video a few years ago, I started using thicker foam as the skull cap, around 1/4" foam. It makes the inside of the skull cap a bit smaller and it grips better. You can also heat shape the skull cap to bend in the sides and back that makes it grip more. Also, I often use a wig cap which helps grip the skull cap. And finally if for some reason the wig is loose after it's made, you can use U-shaped bobby pins to help secure it to your hair or wig cap.

    Hi, I'm in the UK do you know where I can buy the foam please? Will import if I need to

      It's 2mm craft foam. If you Google that, you should be able to find it for sale online.

    Hi is a hair dryer o.k or is it better to buy a heat gun ? Thanks Tony

      I don't think a hair dryer would get hot enough to make the foam malleable, but you could try it before buying the heat gun.

    Just cut the bill off a thrift store baseball cap! Already built, and sturdier/adjustable!

    • @Kevinpdoheny

      That actually works good for certain headpieces (I've used that in the past). But for other headpieces and wigs (made from foam for example), this kind of skull cap works best. It also comes down longer on the sides and in the back than a baseball cap would. ;-)
