Lots of wisdom here, for marriages of any vintage!! The initial fizz of falling in love is great. I married very late (the year I turned 50). I certainly enjoyed that fizz! And of course my husband and I have enjoyed and appreciated the good times, big and little, that we've shared over the years. But what I have loved even more is having a stalwart companion with whom to face the difficult times. By now we've both experienced eldercare challenges. Some health issues and surgeries. Knowing that my husband is all in, one hundred percent...priceless.
How exciting!!! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I am actually working on a very special project for engaged women right now because I don't think there is enough guidance for women specifically through engagement! Can't wait to share more about it!
There’s something so beautiful about embracing imperfection. When you’re aware of imperfection, there is a huge weight lifted off one’s shoulders. It’s truly so humbling. It brings you right back to being a child, relying on someone else for everything. God holds us at all ages. Even when you’ve had a rough day, looking into your loved one’s eyes is the comfort that is so special because what a gift it is that his God-given expression can comfort me so well. It’s wonderful to have young Catholic couples to look up to, fully embracing the struggles and joys of marriage.
Thank you for this!! 1-effort: how much can I put into this? (He just got home from work, so she gave him an apple snack). 2-being in love doesn't compare to true love 3:15. 3-you never know how much time you have together... Treat each mo.ent as if it could be your last together. 4-time is the most valuable asset, live in the now. 5- 8:39 role as mom is different than role as dad.6- 10:05 your marriage is not going to be perfect, and it's never going to be perfect because we are imperfect humans. 11:00 Emily's response: we're both always growing, evolving, changing. We have to figure out how to love (and serve) each other as we change. (how can we love each other in this season?) Also liked hearing about the surrender novena at the end of the video🙂
It is beautiful how you guys pray a short little prayer together before bed, I would definitely like to do this one day when I am married! Thank you for this great video and for showing us the lessons you've learned from the past six years!
You guys are 🔥 may God bless you and your house for the rest of your life, for the work and effort you put in spreading this good, uplifting, wise advices in today's world.
Lovely video, and advice I'll definitely take to heart. I also can't help but chuckle with Daniel saying, "they're going to think we planned this!" After only being married for 3 and a half months, my husband and I have similar trains of thought when talking so often 😂
Love watching your videos! The feelings come and go, depending on where you are at right now, but the choice and the true soul love to each other stays when you put God first,l 🙏❤️ getting married this year and I can't wait to serve even more
Daniel is really wise here. Congrats to both of you! Count your blessings that both of you are open to growing and put the Lord at the center of your lives. That makes marriage so much easier.
I think we talked about it briefly in one of our previous marriage videos. When it was happening, I shared a little bit on Instagram. He had those blood clots just a few weeks before Zion was born in 2018. It was quite a time!
You guys are such an inspiration for me ! You are people of faith, I don't share your faith but I can find myself in yours words and it feels so good. Thank you so much for sharing your raw feelings with such honesty 🙏
