When you compare the high-end models of the Matebook X Pro and the 13, everything about the Matebook X Pro is better except for the webcam placement. If you do not care about that, then go for the Matebook X Pro. It has a larger screen (13.9 inches) with higher resolution (3000x2000) and improved brightness (up to 450 nits). It also has improved RAM (16 GBs) and quad speakers. Also, because of the webcam being placed on the keyboard, you get thinner bezels, if that's something you're into. It also includes a USB type A port. As for the price difference, I do not think it is significant enough.
The 13 has better cooling and a better version of the MX150. If you're cool with a smaller laptop and a proper webcam placement then I don't see why you wouldn't want the 13.
Actually, if the bottom part lifts up while opening the screen means the structure is strong enough and the bottom part is very light. Otherwise, it would be too loosened and after a few years, the screen wouldn't hold the preferred angle.
One of the best thing about the macbook products to me is the build quality. Would you say the matebook 13 compares to the new macbook air? (is it as rigid?)

If the i7 model went up to 16GB of RAM it'd be the perfect laptop. I have been looking for a sub 15" with MX150 for the power but not too much power like a gaming laptop that eats up battery life. Probably going to go with either the Razer Blade Stealth 13 or Matebook X Pro. Probably the Matebook as you pick it up for about $500 cheaper than the Razer Blade Stealth... But I really want this one! I just like to have more RAM when I am video editing and content creating.

really hope they make a 1080p non touch, 16:9 variant, thats probably asking for too much though ;-;. since for a student that makes way more sense. 1080p so more battery life, non touch so there isnt that reflection looking back at you, and watching videos in 16:9

Just saying, to get the most bang for your buck you will want to get the upgraded model. The best value is most likely the upgraded version of the matebook 13. To actually answer your question, base x pro gives you better speakers, resolution, and brightnes but the the webcam placement is weird. If you're going to buy a base model get the x pro, but I heavily recommend getting an upgraded model of the matebook 13. What you lose over the upgraded mate x pro is the smaller bezels and better screen res and brightness, graphics card actually improves from 10W on the matebook x pro to 25W on the matebook 13

I bought this laptop and I simply can not use it. In order to install W 10, the laptop is still setting up the software, taking over 6 hours of installation. I am considering to return back to the seller this machine.I never saw a first installation taking so long time.
I have a question... I was wondering how difficult it is to deal with Huawei since they are a Chinese company. Are they good with customer service? Thanks.
OP if you're in the US, you can buy the Matebook X Pro directly through the Microsoft store and get support. That's probably the best way to do it if you can.

It's not pro edition of course Matebook X pro was way better than this one , for several reasons , this one has dual speakers but the previous one had Quad speakers , The previous one had USB A port , but this doesn't and for me I really liked the hidden camera in the keyboard but they removed it from here . That's was really disappointed thing I had been waiting for 💔💔
Have always been a fan of Huawei's stuff, just sad that the U.S. seems to be "at war" with them. And even though they have all these accusations going around? I would definitely buy one of these!....(I would just wipe it and install Linux on it to keep prying eyes out of my computing life!.....LoL!) Matter fact.....where can one buy this with those kind of specs? (although I'm not a fan of touch screens...)

Do we have an internal shot of the cooling solution? Number of heat pipes, fans, placement, etc.?
I got the Matebook X Pro and I am very happy with it. I needed at a minimum of 16 GB of memory 512 GB of SSD. Lower specs would not have worked.
The X Pro costs almost twice as much, I wouldn't call that "not significant enough"
