I use a MacBook Air M2 and I think the only non-MacOS laptop that tempts me is the Microsoft Surface. It's the same simplistic design. While it runs windows instead of MacOS I think it's a pretty good laptop. (Still a Mac fan though)
sadly it doesnt come with a free pencil/stylus! after purchasing a new huawei M-Pencil (3rd generation) White (model: CD54-S) it doesnt seem to sync it to this new Huawei mate 14 after upgrading the Huawei PC Manager into 14.0.3.300
Purchased a 16” 2-1 direct from Huawei about 18 months ago. The build quality was good, pretty quiet even with the fan going and performed fine for me. It had one major problem in that switching back from tablet mode to laptop the physical keyboard would not work. An even bigger problem was trying to return it and dealing with customer services. Essentially there is no customer service and they will try everything to keep your money and you keep a defective product. Fortunately i bought with a credit card and they applied the pressure. If you are considering buying from any PC retailer direct (Dell are as bad) think again even if they are offering a good deal. Buy from a physical retailer even if its a bit more expensive then at least you can return to the shop and not be kept behind a wall of email and non responsive phone help lines.
Thank you for telling us your experience with Huawei. I heard similar problems with the back up service from HONOR. This is why Apple and Samsung are popular. I am prepared to pay extra for the support if I have a problem.
I too am committed to MacOS and like my 13" MBA M1. I no longer have a need for heavy computing (being long since retired) but I find the MBA a good compromise. My dislike for Windows is probably irrational because it dates back to a bad experience with Vista but I don't care. More recent experience setting up a laptop (a cheap HP in this case) for a Club I belong to was that the installed Windows version (8 I think) automatically updated to Windows 10 and then to Windows updates, allowing me no way of controlling it. Presumably, Microsoft thought I was incapable of making my own decisions despite my experience of computers and operating systems dating back to 1962. Even worse, the computer was badly infected with viruses in less than 2 hours-before I could install any protection! Windows-aaggghh! That said, the Makebook 14 certainly looks like a reasonable alternative to the expensive Microsoft laptops. For what it is worth, my smartwatch is a Huawei model.
I used MacBook Pro last 3years. Three windows laps used three brands. Mac performs good but limiting me much hope to turn MateBook soon with recent bad experience with Mac. Thanks this supports me to get decision
Funny, I just want to get rid of my MBA M1 to get a Matebook 14, athough I hate this company. My main concern on my MBA is: The OS! I hate MAC OS sooo much. It is just an OS that constantly wants you to work in a dumb way, the Apple one. (and of course buy Apple sh*** to make a dumb product work at leat in some areas.)
The real problem with is review is that if you are going to compare a Windows laptop with MacBooks you CANNOT restrict yourself to just a Chinese producer as there are so many very solid premium Windows laptops at 14 inches. Unless of course you are being funded by Huawei to irrespective of the sponsorship of this video. Sub £1K budget in Windows then look at ASUS - at least consider them. Around £1K or£1200 then there are plenty of options that can compete with Huawei’s offering and it is disingenuous to suggest bothersome. But this video is biased towards Huawei, silent.y. Undeclared. I am really unimpressed with this kind of focused
I'm sorry, but this video is a Huawei Matebook 14 review. Of course it's going to be about Huawei LMAO. Comparing it to MacBook Air is just one minor point of of the video. This isn't a Windows vs Mac video ffs. Next time, learn to read.
@@migoym6079the title of the video includes “Better than a MacBook Air”! That implies more than just a minor part of the review. Maybe you should follow your own advice.
What about longevity? I know one cannot review longevity, but I often hear that Macbooks last longer than other laptops, is it true? Especially when compared with a touch screen display laptop?
Hey, nice video. But i don't like windows for coding. Can you try install ubuntu on that? And how about the super device? Can it still running ? Thank you so much
you don't *have* to switch to windows! I'm very much enjoying giving Fedora Asasi Remix a whirl on my MacBook Pro right now, while I'm in one of my platform-independence" fits... ;-)
Huawei is amazing - lightweight, with a wonderful screen... BUT! Core Ultra is a terrible processor. In actual use, the battery life is very poor. The fans work almost always. They should have used the AMD U series, it behaves much better with limited consumption. Or wait for the new processors that have just been introduced.
i find the battery very good!!! & efficient However , i have issue with the pen/stylus: after purchasing a new huawei M-Pencil (3rd generation) White (model: CD54-S) it doesnt seem to work with this new Huawei mate 14 after upgrading the Huawei PC Manager into 14.0.3.300
Don't buy Core Ultra in 2024. You will regret it in a few months as Intel, Apple, and AMD release their newest chips, which are more powerful and efficient.
I am hoping it is a dirty rumour, but I have heard that Huawei won't be running Windows after this or possibly one more iteration as a knock on of the US bar on Huawei products. As I say could be a dirty rumour and I hope so! I currently have a Huawei D15 laptop (yes an older one but) and frankly its bloody good value for what I paid for it (just over £400). The pop up webcam is honestly useless and no one wants to look up your nose, so I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it that way and it does struggle a little when using Lightroom (but then a lot of laptops do) but for every day non intensive work its a damn good machine and I would buy another one as long as it was running Windows. As for Ulysses, I have to admit I have gone back to using Word or Google Docs because I have to switch between a mac mini and the windows laptop, so it dosen't make a massive difference on that front and it isn't really a deal breaker. It would be good to see a Windows edition of Ulysses (or Bear) however.
Are you having a laugh £1100 for a cheap Chinese laptop, which is more expensive than the cheapest. iMac or the same price as the iMac with the same RAM with less storage, you’re still mental
1. Huawei products ain't cheap. Been using their entry level laptop since 2020, and it's been great. I can attest it's the best Windows laptop brand for me, who not only looks for specs, but also design (Used Acer, Asus, HP, etc., and they're all ugly). 2. Comparing it to iMac is stupid, because the point of laptop is transportability. 3. If you think it's mental to opt for this laptop over iMac when MacBook Air that's more expensive than this laptop exists, then you're stupid and a hypocrite.
What would a Windows laptop have to do to tempt you from the MacBook?
Run macOS.
I would never buy a Macbook in the first place.

and Huawei is one of the best Chinese laptop manufacturers!
You speak so calmly, I can easily guess you're a British. 😊
Nowt, I don’t have either. I’m an iPad Pro M4 as my ‘only computer’ kinda guy 👍🏻. Nice vid tho again Mr E. Thank you 🙏
Not an apple to apple comparison by any means. Should have compared Matebook X Pro 2024 to MacBook.
Your english and voice is magic ❤️
Dang it SWITCH!
Possibly Zettlr could be a replacement for Ulysses...
The problem with any Windows Laptop is, as always, that it runs Windows.
And the poorly built hinges
Install Linux if you don’t like windows
Could be worse, could be Mac OS.
You could run Hackintosh
Well, the factory computers that built those macs are probably running windows/pc..so yeah
You are right, I am not switching back to windows 🙂
Who cares

😂 bro I have 10 years old window laptop it still work fine
The problem with macs is that they are made by apple...
You mean by the 850€ for Mac Pro Wheels Apple.

How to perform video editing process.
I'm confused about which of these 2 laptops I should buy matebook D16 i9 and Matebook 14 ultra 7. please, guys, which one is better
Ultra 7 👍🏻
@cyborg119 Thank you, bruh
Have you purchased ? I’m having the same confusion because both have the same price

I agree these could be greater if only they embraced AMD chips
@@sirsilva7079 I think Huawei has no choice because Biden gov. banned AMD to sell product to Huawei then. And now Intel is banned also.

As much as I hate being in the Apple ecosystem, and being stuck in it, Mac book is the business. It drags you back in.
Can’t wait until Apple finally releases a MacBook Air with an oled display. Preferably a tandem oled.
This will never happen.
@@barbancourt69 I read that it’s planned for 2026. But a regular oled, not a tandem oled.
It will probably add to the price. They already cost a fortune.
this will never be happen, apple use this screens and 120hz into PRO just for saying more expensive laptops and phones and tablets

nope. Obviously you can choose between Intel 5 and 7 series and 512 or 1TB with its 300€ price difference.

I'm sure after the Qualcomm PCs are out, a new journey of hackintosh will begin

So what should I buy zenbook14?? I need a laptop now
