Hey! I was suprised myself while making this video with the amount of variety you can squeeze out of the Drillers weapons and mods combined with overclocks! I would even say you should prioritize getting Driller overclocks first with all the useful stuff you can do with them. He almost plays as a DPS support hybrid and is a crazily important part of a team that wants to survive the worst that Hoxxes has to offer.

5:33 Mactera can't move once they've committed to charging up a shot. The weakpoint also swells, doubling or even tripling in size. Just wait until mactera charge to shoot at you and swat them then

I'm getting to the point where I'm getting alot more strategic with my builds and these videos give me lots of ideas. Most times I don't copy paste builds but it'll inspire me to go back and try radical new things or show me a way to use an odd overclock like that last build for the cryo cannon! Ever since they buffed the ammo on the cryo cannon "Snow Ball" has become my fav oc. Combine it with a max ammo/efficiency Thin containment field EPC, Carver C4 and I have a cave carving problem solving monster.
It really is that good, so underrated
now, while this isn't a loadout you forgot the most important part of playing driller
carving basket ball hoops to play basketball with a pearl or alien egg

I've spent my whole time in DRG playing some Engi, and mostly Scout. I've always wanted to try Gunner and Driller but felt overwhelmed and underinformed, but now I'm gonna give them a go! Thanks for these videos!
as a driller main (and more importantly a green beard), ive always felt overwhelmed by scout. why are there so many buttons? why does nothing do damage? Why do you have no ammo??? I just dont get it.

For second Build I noticed that if I didnt have heat generation on plasma, I can kill praetorians without them breaking out. With the damage boost plus fire damage however, they break out almost instantly and I have to refreeze. Personally I think being able to swiftly take them out with one freeze is optimal especially on hazard 5.
Amazing - thanks for editing in relevant/awesome gameplay footage, instead of just making us stare at the equipment loadout menu for 20 minutes straight like many other guides.

I'm def gonna use some of these, I love doing refinery missions where I go through a mountain just to connect the pipe instead of making a 20mile long pipe with 109 useless turns, bends and whatnot. So this'll help during those
Usually run 2-2-2-1-2 with the fuel stream defuser overclock on the crspr going for dots and using the pistol for targeted damage. Amo lasts forever and 20m range is nasty

Right? 20 meters of range on a flamethrower feels wrong but in a good way
I think my favourite driller build is a Cryo melee build where I drill, impact axe, and pick axe swarms to get health.
Iron will and neutron bomb for the passive.

I think the mactera spawn keep strafing if they are being shot at or have room to move. I find that if they’re being annoying and dodging, it’s best to just stop shooting and wait till they charge up a shot so they’re staying still with a fatter weak point.
Also, I found that a single shot epc is better with the clean that improves cooling rate instead of heavy hitter. Heavy hitter you can have up to 40 dmg and I think an 8 shot burst of firing fast. With that same build but damage instead of ammo and the clean instead of heavy hitter, you get max cooling rate, and can fire 19 shots at 25 damage. And that’s with plasma burn. I wanted to try a freeze plasma burn combo, but watching the video it seems that the temp shock bonus isn’t as big as I thought. It might be better to drop plasma burn and go for TCF because it reduces your normal shot heat generation, so you could probably get an even bigger burst than 19 shots, which would likely be way more than enough to kill a praetorian while it’s still frozen rather than unfreezing it for a small chunk of damage. And you won’t mind sacrificing that ammo mod since you won’t have any ammo deficits by using the clean.
I hate justifying another reason to always take TCF since it’s already leagues ahead of flying nightmare, but it just seems better to take full advantage of the 300 percent extra dmg to a frozen target rather than a bit of dmg for temp shock and losing the freeze.
I hear you man! Overall, a clean OC does more damage in most circumstances with the EPC and TCF is still a good default to go back to for the tier 5 mod. Though I do still like that heavy hitter can one shot grunts if you get a headshot. The build was more built around a theme rather than being optimized for the absolute best calculated performance, trying to use overclocks that I rarely use and getting ideas for someone who might not have a broad choice of options in OCs. I just like this set up in terms of weapon feel after messing around a lot I suppose.
@@siirvend I didn’t know heavy hitter could one shot grunts, that’s rly efficient. I really love your eagerness to make builds that are more unique and utilize a wider variety of OCs that other people don’t use. Seems most people just wanna stick with the overclocks that are safe and well regarded by the community. You seem to always have a unique assortment of mods with the OCs that are common and you like to use the rare OCs which I rly appreciate. Your gunner builds video was the first time I’ve ever seen someone use the ricochet bullets mod for the minigun, which was super eye opening. Keep up the good work my man, ik cleans will almost always get the job done easier and simpler so it’s rly cool to see more representation.
I just feel like the epc needs a bit of balancing or a rework, both it’s unstables are pretty bad and heavy hitter isn’t as efficient as the clean. Plasma burn is good, flying nightmare is pretty meh, but TCF is just so good that it sucks to never see any other epc setups. Like of course the TCF blast itself does a ton of dmg and mines minerals, but the mod also lets you shoot more normal shots and stops the instant overheat which would be so nice to have on other builds. It feels like the gun should just by default not instant overheat and the other OCs should be buffed to contend better with the cleans. Also flying nightmare rly needs some love 😔
So many builds I should try but probably won't because I can't stop playing Unreal Tournament with my TCF EPC

I use a cryo build with vampire on it and it makes me a melee class and also saves up ammo by having cold radiance and damage boosted drills, basically making me never need a shield
Melee Driller is underrated for sure! I like doing that on salvage

I am good at any other class, but I am stuggling with driller not dying all the time. :) Not much can be increased on health/armor part, so i'll need to experiment on your build ideas..especially those who make spiders run away or burn longer. :D
Driller is the only character I have levels on. When in doubt, cryo it out (which imo is super boring and meta) and don't be afraid to use your drills to escape a situation, especially if you aren't used to it. After only playing driller, everyone else just feels awful and isn't fun to play

With the newest update having dropped and depreciating a few of your builds, are you planning on posting revisions or will you wait until update 35 hits with all the new stuff?
I'll most likely wait to do any more build content after updating 35 settles and the adjustments are over. In the meantime I might post something highlighting which ones got better and which got worse along with an updated Karl.gg page with the adjusted mods.
Good news is that update 34 is overall just making most of my builds better save for a few so that's a bullet dodged!

If you want a dreadnought killer then try then try the cryo gun with 1-1-2-1-1/2 and Ice Storm. That one really melts through them and smaller creeps
I really should give I've Storm a second look. I suppose it passed me by since I was having fun with Ice Spear lol
@@siirvend Yeah it can be quite awesome. Like facemelter with ice only that you don't have to reload every few seconds. It isn't as awesome against praetorians for some strange reason though.

I’m so happy that they buffed the subata a few months ago, though it’s still the weakest weapon in my opinion. What are the updated builds?
Most of the ones I had before work the same with added bonuses from the buffs but I'll talk about them soon-ish too

Ive tested the temp shock between EPC burn mod and cryo and sadly you spend way more ammo unfreezing the praetorians and trying to refreeze them. Just freezing and blasting them without heat mods deals 3x dmg because when a mob is frozen it takes 3x more dmg. No upsides to ending the freeze sooner. Also heat takes away from epc dmg so its pretty bad overall
I realized this far too late, at least when it comes to praetorians. These days I use the Heavy Hitter EPC almost exclusively for frozen grunts and the like. Anything that will die from the temp shock without needing to be refrozen since that does save you ammo. I think I was getting ahead of myself with how satisfying it was to temp shock praets. I do still do it if it's close enough to the damage threshold where it will kill them though, I feel like it's easier to gauge after using the build for so long.
I will say, thos video in particular needs an update since there were so many changes since then, in addition to things I've learned about the builds themselves. It bothers me that Heat Pipe is suggested here and I definitely do not use it the same way since update 34. This us a good reminder to consider updating the info, after I get done with the new weapons that is.
Never knew about temperature shock, even after 200 hours in game.
It's a pretty obscure damage source for sure. It has a signature "FOOOOSH" sound effect whenever it triggers too. Weird thing is that some sources can trigger it like refineries and Glacial Strata steam vents.
It's all just any time the game rapids changes the temperature of an enemy to burning or freezing back to the base temperature. Steam vents can cause it on burning bugs because they don't actually "warm up" bugs, they rapidly return the targets temperature to "room temp" causing the shock damage to burning bugs as they walk into it.

Love these build videos!!! Do you typically take the same perks on all of them or are the perks you choose purely situational?
I usually bring the same perks on most of my builds. I always have dash, vampire and thorns on just as preference and then I'll switch out the other two slots according to what type of mission and hazards Im heading into. The only build from this video that takes a specific perk is the Directionally Funneled Quasar build where I use born ready to skip reload times.

I have a dumb question, will the subata’s “explode on reload” overclock benefit from the volatile bullets upgrade? Not just the initial bullet impact but the explosive aftermath as well?
I honestly don't know, that might be a good one to do some science on and see. If I do I'll reply about that because it sounds like it might make it way more effective.

Typically what I bring every mission is Thorns, Vampire and Dash. The other passive and active slots change depending on the mission or build. The Face Melter build likes to have Born Ready, freezing builds always like Vampire or Berzerker, and I like to bring Resupplier for Dreadnoughy fights. Driller also likes Shield Link since you'll be near your team a lot. I'll actually be making a much more in depth video on perks in the future but thats the gist of it for Driller.

NEVER +60% more weakpoint dmg over +3 (25% more base dmg)dmg for the subata pistol. Ur base weakpoint dmg for the pistol is x2.2 or x3.2 depending on enemy weakpoints.
15 x 2.2 = 33dmg
15 x 3.2 = 48dmg
For the extra weakpoint dmg:
12 x 2.8 = 33.6dmg
12 x 3.8 = 45.6
NEVER worth picking over the overall dmg. By picking overall dmg u also increase ur weakpoint dmg.

Veeeeeeeery minor nerf though. All it did was give the overclock a slight delay for firing, barely noticeable if you get used to it. As a clean overclock it was shockingly good so u understand the logic behind giving it a small drawback.

@@siirvend thats fair. its not "good" per say, but it is fun. one of the best meem builds. I just kind of work it in with my Face Melter build. gives some crowd control options so the fire can be used to focus down things and the secondary can be used for range.
The Driller Pistol, Subnata or as A random called it The Miner’s Friend is Definitely a Useful tool and Versatile And Funnily enough can be A Better SMG then the Actual SMG but My kits Always have it on Driller

Why is the perfectly tuned cooler a balanced mod now?
In update 34 they changed it to give it a slight delay on the pressurization spin up. Before it was almost too good to not have a downside apparently.

Is there any way I can find new overclock faster?
Well, if you're simply looking for overclocks there's always the option of running lower hazard missions and rushing through the caves until you explore them completely, doing any machine events you find or aborting if there isn't one.
Id say to take it easy and play the game however you find most fun since trying to roll rng like that may kill the fun, especially if you don't find what you're looking for.

After playing for a bit, most of them work just as well if not better if you don't count the EPC mining. Even on the weapons that didn't receive straight buffs,, the playstyle and effectiveness feel about the same to me..
I lucked out with these changes honestly.

explosive reload is aim dependent but it's quite potent, swap to new targets sooner, greater use of cover and mobility, simultaneous kills

Actually there's 4 weapons per class. That is if you don't count all the overclocks and modifications.
@@siirvend 2 primary and 2 secodary guns wow.each class should have a minimum of 4 primary wepons.especially for a game that has 0 story and multiplayer content. Also more perk and mkre monsters...
