I was here, looking at them from my right hand side..I was only 22 years old. It was the first time i listened and watch U2. Some months later I went to a U2 concert in Utrecht...without tickets. We parked our care and some guys came to us asking if we would like to buy their tickets because they had some spare...there were only 1500 people to see them. Can you imaging that now? I had a GREAT time when I was young...And I still thank GOD for that :) !!!
This is just amazing. They were truly amazing. So young, so raw, so idealistic, it's beautiful watching it happen. The days when U2 meant everything in the world to me--not too much now. You grow up, they grow up...it's rather sad. But thanks for the best damn memories ever!
When I moved from Philadelphia PA to Miami FL (1985 right out of HS) the entire catalog Boy to Unforgetable Fire (at that time) got me through the entire ordeal
Back 2 the early years. I hope they still remember the 'torhout-werchter' festival. this was the beginning of everything - the flags - the succes. the belgium audiance was so gentle. one big party from first song until the end of the concert. people still talking about this concerts back in the 80's. best memorys of my life also best U2 period.
I was there the year after [83]. Same place front row. Here was the program : The Scabs, Warren Zevon, John Cale, Eurythmics, Simple Minds, U2, Peter Gabriel, Van Morrison. At a moment, for one song, Bono invited Annie Lennox and Jim Kerr. Great souvenir !!
a band way ahead of their time even then wow ive never seen these clips from the early 80s they still have the same intensity as they did then. its nice to see a band whose music transcends the trends of their own time and always remains relevant. 30 years strong and still rocking .!
Argh! I used to have this whole concert on video that I recorded off the TV back in the 80s. I used to watch it literally every dayfor about a year! Ah - good memories, back in the Boy era and several years until Bono disappeared up his own Ego on The Joshua Tree.
“Out of Control” I was when a Doctor accuses me a behavior when I wasn’t even there ??? The Doctor said “someone told me you were there” !!! A Doctor !!!! TopJimmy
+kiteinthebreeze Well it's not another song per say, it's just a snippet of lyrics Bono would sing during the quiet bridge in Out of Control back in the day. Shame he doesn't sing it in more recent performances.
the people giving edge his other guitars for the other songs look like they want to do something else. nowadays the guys who change the guitars are happy there doing that job
@Swissbanker77 Erm... I was a U2 fan way before you were even an embryo mate. :-) I know it might be hard for you, but try and accept that not everyone happens to have the same opinion as you. Having seen U2 more times than you have possibly been laid, I think I can make up my mind in terms of how good their recent stuff is and how good they are live these days. Try not to take things quite so personally. It's just OPINIONS...So relax and go listen to your favourite U2 song. :-)
Let's give Let's give peace be on no Gods/mental health of a wo red leader who will Die like a Dog with life in this world. Fuck me if if being nice, or being me or you we don't
@Swissbanker77 Honestly, to mention such a vapid, shallow, trite song as Beautiful Day as evidence for the enduring talent of the band (on the contrary, it actually marks the lowest point of their career) fatally weakens your whole reckoning (the grossing/selling data don't help neither). 1980-1992, i.e. from Boy to Achtung Baby, one of best band ever. Sometimes I get high and I'm prone to think THE BEST ever. After Berlin Bono became the joke he still is and the music went sorrowful.
@Swissbanker77 Please relax fellow, I don't enjoy at all shitting on artists I used to adore and I still enjoy the best records of the band (do you?) of the band. I just think that at some point they started to do bad music and ugly shows. In my opinion, which cannot be disproved being strictly tied to my personal taste, Beautiful Day pretty much summarize the overall downfall of the band, despite being "huge" (by that I guess you are back to selling and cashing, don't you). Ciao.

Out of control in my house is.....
The Best.
Boy is perhaps one of my favorite albums ever, seriously
Mine too
One of the best. It's the youth and the birth of one of the world's greatest bands ever. Powerful stuff.

March 14th, 1982 saw them in Indianapolis. I was 14 and they opened up for the J. Geils Band. We left after U2 and my life has never been the same.
'One day I'll die, the choice will not be mine, will it be too late? I can't fight fate' LOVE IT!
What can we say one of the best bands in the world.
Bone, the Edge, none of 'em had any idea they were gonna be in the BIGGEST BAND IN THE WORLD! Gives me goosebumps.
Bono has said in interviews that he did in fact have that as a specific goal.
Bone???????? ☺️ 😁 😁
The sl(edge) was good on the guitar.
U2 will ever and ever be an most amazing band....
Antoinette Bongart love you
Fuck me I have been sick just u2 make me me
I'd say this was one of their best gigs, caught on film at least. a great time in their career, would have been great to have been there!

é maravilhoso , muito bom U2 sempre foi e sera a melhor banda . demais
Out of control is healthy too the sole if..
valeu pelo o vídeo!
I completely agree. Something happened (success?) that ruined the intimacy between U2 and me. War was the last album of theirs I bought.
“Out of Control” I was when a Doctor accuses me a behavior when I wasn’t even there ??? The Doctor said “someone told me you were there” !!!
A Doctor !!!! TopJimmy
My theme to “life” when I heard this song !!!! TopJimmy
Indimenticabili!
Sbs
Was 1984iù fell in love
I highly agree on that The Gripper 1
Got it on DVD, wanna have?
In the video of "I Threw a Brick Through A Window" he says he lost his voice. So I think that's the reason ;-)
exactly: he says he lost his voice and if someone finds it, he can bring it back to him :)
¿Que diria bono y adam al ver este video los peinados que tenian? je je je. U2 lo mejor, me encantan
Bono believes in himself and his tribe.
Please, what's the snippet at 3:25?
Feels like 'i can't stand up, you won't sit down, i'm won't give up' ... what's the music?
+kiteinthebreeze Well it's not another song per say, it's just a snippet of lyrics Bono would sing during the quiet bridge in Out of Control back in the day. Shame he doesn't sing it in more recent performances.
U2 were still the Electric co.Still ...

I like Bono with his tight pants en boots...
The Lord gives once
@Swissbanker77 You're right, it's NOT. Thanks for playing. :-) Interesting that concert attendence is your measure of talent. lol Sigh.
@LoveAndPeaceOrElsee They're not quite so amazing now.
Yeah, old U2 is my preference as well. Everything before Joshua Tree.
the people giving edge his other guitars for the other songs look like they want to do something else. nowadays the guys who change the guitars are happy there doing that job

its all f..king class except the popmart stuff
bono is out of control
Love their old stuff, to bad Bono turned out to be a nutcase.
BABBY BONO
to much reverb.
Not one of their better performances of this song...bono basically talked through the song instead of singing it...and his timing was lousy
Adam Clayton... Dear god, you had WAY TOO MUCH hair.
No one's putin
