I don't wish that. You know how hard that is on the artist? R.E M. Is too amazing to force touring... They really weren't a tour band anyway. They were an ATHENS Georgia band... College town... They played for the town...
I have loved REM and Michael Stipe from the beginning. I miss them horribly! I know all good things come to an end, but it just seems like these years have come too soon
Im 64 and have seen 100s of bands live --- all the very best bands in the world, zep, stones, floyd, tull, bowie, prince, springsteen, petty, pearl jam, radiohead-- you name it I've seen them, and REM is as good a live show as good gets. One of the all time greats!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Mills missed the auctioneer is "such a creep" backing vocals, and he and Stipe are laughing through the song. Especially just after the missed vocal, and at the ending of the song. They were having a good time.

That show is at the Olympia IN Dublin. Although it is. "NOT A SHOW." You'll have to listen to get that inside joke. But the open with harborcoat and that is fantastic!
I heard this song not too long ago and realized I don't own it. But it sounds like I've heard it before. This is the real REM sound. I think they used to play it live before the even released Murmur and that's where I know it from.
R.E.M as poppy as they sound habe always been punk in my eyes. Always were a TRUE LIVE band. No lip singing. No auto tune voice over. No big drama show when they perform. If they sound good they sound good. If they sound bad they sound bad. That's punk it gets
@@beemail6983 not punk rock. But punk as in they don't give a fuck about selling out and changing for money. They won't dress how the industry wants them to. They won't sing the songs the industry wants. They have punk ethics as in do it your own way fuck the money fuck the fame.
I'm 64. Seen loads of bands over the years. REM are the best live band ever. Wish they would tour again. :)
I'd say Pantera were probably the best live ever...but REM is incredible lol 👏
I wish I could have been part of your generation.
@@benyoung4305 beyond generations, some bands like those from Athens are universal ✌️✌️
Amen!
I miss them

Fishbone isn't bad - having the lead singer dive into the crowd from the balcony is a fave mem (the audience caught him and he didn't miss a beat).
AC/DC WITH BON ?
Holy hell R.E.M. live is so good
I think Michael is beautiful as always, as all the band. Yes. The harmonic is marvellous
Michael's HOT!!! 🔥
Harmonica solo cracked me up,hahahaha
@Andy Lumeh what?
I agree I saw them many years ago I'm 67 now and still love REM best band ever ❤️❤️❤️
Mike Mills missed the auctioneer is "such a creep" backing vocals, and he and Stipe are laughing through the song. Especially just after the missed vocal, and at the ending of the song. They were having a good time.
I love this song...

What a band!!! very powerfull, sadly Bill (Rieflin) died in 2020, he was a very talented drummer and with a fantastic groove

They had finally got their live shows down ! Love their songs .

All you need to convert a Bad Day in a good day is playing this song...
It's been a bad year, please don't take our picture.
Love the 86 demo and 03 redo. Love REM always.
This is so much better than the video they made for the song.
Just wonderful music

2:23 proves Michael Stipe can do more than just sing.
Good catch😜
Muito bom!!

Leyenda
I've always wondered why Michael always had tape on his thumb like that. Does anybody have any ideas on why he does that?
"Save my own ass, screw these guys
Smoke and mirror lockdown"
Huh.
Visionary.
And Ric Flair on the drums!
"WooooOOOOOOOOOOw" :D
And the Singer is Danny Burch 😍
elcomberro123 “If you wanna be the man, you gotta beat the man… Err… Drums…”
Thought I was the only one who thought it was Flair.
still better than bob dylan on harmonica
❤
Mike Mills guys!!
what year was this filmed?
It’s about the lyrics
No It's Rock Punk
I love that song but it was a very bad idea to play harmonica during the bridge part.
At least we got to see the last time they did that. history, still loved the song tho
Michael missed a bit by playing the harmonica too long! There was no "I saw the light it cant be right" but the others thought it was funny!
Great! Michael should have investigated blues harps in the right key...
Holy shit I didn't know Tony Hawk played in REM!!1!
Bad 3 years 😢
More harmonica. More cowbell ..
Leslie Nielsen on drums?
Y mi harmónica? Chuchuchuuuuuuu😉
It's been a bad day, cue harmonica solo, genius was never this good.
it was a bad day... what a bad harmonica play mr Stipe... :-)
Forte il biondino
Do you still think I look like Michael stipes Scott?
I 17 che hanno messo non mi piace che problemi gravi hanno?
