U2 really is the GOAT of music. #🥇U2♾#
The songwriting and compositions of their earlier albums is incredibly raw and rich. I was introduced to U2 at age 14 in 1982 and have loved watching their evolution over the many years they've worked so hard to impress us, the audience. When I heard WAR, I was convinced they would be a global band. Live Aid sealed it. So grateful I saw them on their Joshua Tree tour in 1987. This band is gold.
Back in the old days of 1983, you had to buy concert tickets at a Ticketmaster such as a Sam Goody or Korvettes. There was a long line, and everyone was buying tickets for some guy named David Bowie. I got tiks for U2 at the Palladium in NYC. The building shook when they played Out Of Control.
@@fredsmith6324 I agree. I saw them in concert back in 1982 promoting their second album. So, I was hearing everything off of Boy and October. Their energy was amazing. Edge had hair back then. lol Bono had a 150 foot mic cable and went out into the crowd (no ramp back then - he really went into the crowd). I'm surprised the cable endured. lol Also, that Gibson Edge is playing was his first real guitar (so he said in an interview).
I have to say this is a great effort by U2! Well done, now if they could do a tour will all those early great songs with the same effort put into it, and no BS over the top stage production to keep ticket prices affordable they could stir things up in the Rock world and show some love to the loyal old fans who supported them 40+ years ago! I know I'd go and see them
I bought the Album when it came out . No one knew of them for years after. They were Fresh and Different. Echo and the Bunnyman were out of the same Era. This was a Primal Call to the Change of Life and Music. It brought more Bands for the Worldwide Masses to hear and find common relativity in the musical messaging movement.

Massive fan of early U2. I met maire brennan at a clannad gig in 86 and bluntly asked her whe u2 were touring next. Bear in mind no intternet. Nobody I knew, knew. Pretty much SFA. She had been recording in Windmill Lane with Bono.. next year she said. And they did. Sadly I missed Runrig supporting U2 at murrayfield 6 july 87. Never seen U2 live. But if I get a piano I will play October. Peace and love
In the crazy world of rock and roll you're supposed to be able to whatever you want. I thought that was part of the point. If bono had his face covered in tattoos would that be a more acceptable uniform than dying his hair?.
U2's first 3 albums are straight up legit as good as anything they've done since. People say Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree, and Achtung Baby are their best work and productions and I debate saying, "just relisten to War, Boy, and October" and get back to me.
Edge was having a great time here loved to see him letting himself go.!He is my favorite 🌹 Brilliant band.40 years and still going strong Bono is 62 years old now and he's the best,They could not have done it with out Larry !

This sounded fucking amazing!! They should make songs like this style for their new albums, why don't they?? Red Flag Day is great but it's not as heavy as this, by a large margin!
I don't know what to think about the watermark sometimes. This isn't your content, it was filmed by HBO.. they still have the rights, just as U2 itself.
How do you feel when you’re angry? As if you want to let it out and in small ways it makes you feel good because it rids you of negativity it helps to have someone who cares about you to catch you if you fall
i had europa and actung baby on cd. before those albums U2 were all about conquering america. there is only one song on the joshua tree which is about the Uk miners strike. its the only from thier back cataloug that they dont preform.live.
Mark Daly Yeah, i'm not a big fan of "Rattle & Hum" when they tried to sounds blues rock, it don't really work for me (even if the song with BB King is awesome). I think they never played "Red Hill Minning Town" (the song the Uk miners strikeal) also because it's a very difficult song to sing live (even if Bono've already sang other complicated stuffs)
Red hill mining town would not play well in the USA. It's a very leftist song. Bono and the boys have social consciouses re Africa and stuff like that. And are politically Active that issue. Well bono is as we know.
Lol have you not heard The Joshua Tree though? It's a masterpiece. I prefer War very slightly but I can't deny that TJT is one of the best albums in history. Achtung Baby is also a masterpiece.
I was a diehard U2 fan. Have seen them dozens of time starting back withy their first show in Boston at the Paradise Theatre. I don’t think they have made a legitimate album since the Joshua Tree.
