    I’ve had an oasis for 3.5 years and I’ve never had a problem. I’ve dropped it multiple times and I’ve never scratched or dented it. I honestly don’t find the battery bad at all and I’ve used it A LOT lol. It charges fairly fast too. Hope you love it!

  • @ejavenger
    @ejavenger 9 месяцев назад +12

    The battery life is not that bad. It's not as good as the Paperwhite but seriously you have to charge your phone nightly or every two days. I read a lot and can go about a week and a half on the battery. Many people just want to complain about nothing. You will enjoy the page turn buttons. One of the best things about the Oasis. I hope they update it with USB-C and if they do I will get the newest version as all my devices will now be able to share one cable. Enjoy.

      @@annabanabanana The Kindle Oasis is Still far Superior to the Paperwhite. The Screen on the Oasis is much better as is the hardware.
      You have no idea what is inside of them.

    I've wondered about the Oasis, but the price point discouraged me. I just started using Kindle like 5 or so years ago and I went with a Kindle Fire for my first one. I love it, but feel the battery doesn't last long and with the internet and games, it can distract me from reading. I got my Paperwhite for Mother's Day this year, and I love it. It's so convenient and easy to use. I take it everywhere with me. Glad you love your new Kindle. 💜

    I got my Kindle Paperwhite 11th gen? around 2-3 months ago and been loving it so much. I read on it all the time and it super easy to carry around and fit practically all my bags. The only downside it if I like the book to much, I also went out and bought the physical book. Haha. So yeah. Like recently I just read the whole ACOTAR series. I know, I'm late to the party. But after I read all of it, I went out and bought the paperback and reread them. I even annotated them. Now I have to start saving so I can buy the hardbacks and the custom dust jackets. Arghhh. Nway nice video. Sorry I'm over 2 months late 😅😅😅

    I have the 2020 oasis and have no issues with my battery life. I read a book or two each day, battery life hasn’t been an issue. I’m talking 8-10 hours of reading. I don’t charge very often at all. When I do I plug it in and it’s fully charged in less than an hour.

      @@Nikkilodean19Not True!!! The Amazon Claim is it will last 2 weeks if you read it 1/2 an hour a day. So that is only 14 hours of Battery Life.
      His Oasis easily gets 24 hours of Battery Life from what he said.
      The Kindle Paperwhite claim is with the Light set to 4 out of a possible 24. So the light is on so low it is useless.
      I use my light at full brightness on my Oasis and the Battery Life is around 8 hours.
      People Love to Complain but they usually have No Clue what they are talking about.
      There is really No difference in Battery Life between the Kindle Oasis and the Kindle Paperwhite.
      If you don't need to use the light, turn off Bluetooth and WiFi they will both work for continuous reading for more than 24 hours.
      Why do people complain about a device's Battery Life when it will last them all day...
      How hard is it to plug it in when you are Not using it???

  • @dsr0116
    @dsr0116 6 месяцев назад

    I upgraded to an Oasis when I was looking for a Kindle that has warm light (at the time, it was only the Oasis). I find battery life to be fine: I found if you just use default auto brightness it does use more back light (so having a high brightness and warm light setting is going to drain your battery). When you're setting up the Kindle, the battery is also draining more quickly when it's syncing your books. What I really like is the balance of the Oasis. It's less fatiguing to hold it in one hand vs my old Paperwhite. I can see why e-reader reviewers aren't recommending Oasis in 2023: it's still expensive when the current Papperwhite has newer features (including a version that has a charge cradle). Amazon should have already refreshed the Oasis: it's one of the few devices I still have that require a micro USB instead of USB-C. And also with the Oasis, it seems I have to do more fiddling to get the micro USB inserted.

    • @JesusSavesSinners
      @JesusSavesSinners 9 месяцев назад

      That is absolutely a Ridiculous statement. The changing cable for the Kindle Oasis has been around for 10+ years. It was made the standard charging cable for phones Many years ago.
      Since USB C came out everyone has been obsessed with wanting everything to have a USB C charging port.
      I have a lot of speakers and electronics that use the older cable and guess what they All charge plenty fast.
      Why is it a problem to have a charging spot for your Kindle Oasis?
      It is a bad idea to use only one cable to charge all your devices. Charging cables don't last forever. They will stop working faster if they are used for numerous different devices.

      @JesusSavesSinners Well considering the new standard is a reversible port (there is no right way up or down), supports modern data transfer speeds, and is now on every single new device being made...I'd venture to say micro-usb has been on its way out for the past 10+ years.

      @JesusSavesSinners 9 месяцев назад

      @@Ryno_D1no Not every device currently being made is using USB C. I recently bought New Bluetooth speakers and they are still using the older cable.
      You are Ignorant about USB C cables. They are All Not made the same.
      For Data transfer you have to buy a different USB C cable.
      The cables that come with Devices that charge with USB C are only charging cables.
      The fast charging USB C cables are rated 33% faster charging up to around 57% from what I have seen. Phones that have fast charging will come with a cheap cable that doesn't work that good. I know I have phones that I had to buy new cables for. These cables are Not data transfer cables.
      The standard USB C cable that comes with electronic devices is only good for charging and doesn't charge faster than the older cable that the Kindle Oasis uses.
      You just Love to complain. My Kindle Oasis goes from 0 charge to fully charged in 1 hour.

    my kindle oasis lasts about a full day of reading, like 10-12 hours? it’s so annoying but it’s not like i’m not near chargers. i wouldn’t bring it camping or anything like that. i don’t like that the top button scrolls forward. you can switch it, but the top button unfortunately makes sense because it’s the one that easier to reach. i like being able to go forward while holding it in my left hand and that makes pretty much any of the cons a non-issue 😂

      The advertised Battery Life for the Kindle Paperwhite is only 14 hours.
      People are so clueless on the Battery Life on Kindle devices.
      Amazon says that the Kindle Paperwhite will last for 2 weeks using it for 1/2 hour a day. That is 14 hours of Battery Life.
      You can get up to 24 hours of Battery Life on the Kindle Oasis and the Paperwhite if you don't use the light and turn off the WiFi and the Bluetooth. Put them in airplane mode.
      If you are away from an outlet for a long time because you are out in Nature then it is pretty dumb to want to spend your time reading that defeats the purpose for being on a Nature trip.
      FYI Battery storage banks are inexpensive and a $20.00 one will recharge your Kindle 4 times. Bring a few of them with you and you will Not run out of Battery Life.
