    Outstanding video review of the Li L9! Abundant vehicle details presented in a clear and entertaining manner. Will, you are an awesome presenter and the L9 is a very impressive vehicle. Thank you for introducing me to a brand I knew nothing about. Li Auto will have their hands full meeting domestic Chinese demand. You sold me on the L9, Will - good work!

     @ChinaDriven do you know why there is only 1 table for rear passengers?

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  Год назад +1

      Yes I do! Cos I asked this question to Li! Two reasons
      1) that’s the boss seat. You can move the passenger front out of the way. Since it’s the boss seat they may need to do work and need a table.
      2) putting a table on the rear of the driver seat would result in the drivers seat being moved about a bit while the rear passenger uses it.

    • @anotherfamilyguy
      @anotherfamilyguy Год назад +1

      @@ChinaDriven The car looks more like a Familiy type, not Bussines, so there can be 2 little bosses on rear seats and both will need a table 🙂

    • @ChinaDriven

      You are 100% right. Li Auto aim primarily at families. However, they also know these are used in place of MPVs & large sedans for chauffeur driving. I personally know a few people who use a Li Auto for this purpose.
      So let’s clarify.
      1) knowing that some will use this as a business vehicle a table is essential.
      2) If you’ve ever had a kid behind you whilst driving who likes to put their feet on the back of the drivers seat or whatever you’ll know it’s super annoying to have your seat wiggling even a tiny bit. Hence why they decided not to have a table there as it would only increase the likelihood of such an annoying disturbance to the driver.
      Honestly when I asked these questions they gave these answers without hesitation. It shows that some deep level of thought went into every part of how they designed their vehicles. Could they have had tables that fold out from the second row chair like the Zeekr 009, sure. But it would encroach on space to move from the second row to the third row.

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  Год назад

      So my burning question to you is. Since you began our interaction questioning why such a review exists of a vehicle not available outside of China, then asked a great question which I believe I’ve answered very nicely…
      Are you a subscriber to a channel showing cars you can’t buy yet hahaha
      If nothing else showcasing what is going on in the largest EV market might just point to what to expect in the future in your market. It’s so cutthroat here in the EV space that companies have to keep continually bringing their A-game.
      That results in a lot of interesting vehicles

      @@ChinaDriven I’m driving new Mercedes GLC and was thinking about buying another car, more like a toy. First I was thinking about something fancy, like 911 or rs Q8 or m5. But i’ve faced that ev’s ruined all the magic. I can buy something like tesla model y performance for half of the price of fancy cars and will be faster. But evs don’t have such magic as fancy cars. So i’ve start researching all the evs. And most interesting for myself I find zeekr 001, but still ain’t perfect.

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  2 года назад

      There is an answer to that question. There is no calf rest or table behind the driver so the passenger behind the driver doesn’t annoy the driver by banging or moving his seat. Both seats recline equally just the passenger side has the added calf support because you can push the passenger front seat forward.
      Be sure to check out our new video of driving the Li L9, at the end I use the buttons to move the front seat and calf rest.

    Impressive car, although I am puzzled that it has all those things standard, but you need to pay extra to upgrade qi wireless charging speed? While iPhone remains popular, isn't it true that in China, domestic android based phones (Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi etc) still hold around 80% market share? You'd think this thing should come with the faster wireless charging standard.

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  2 года назад

      Yeah, it’s true android is big in China no doubt. And just to clarify i have nothing against android devices just poking a bit of fun.
      The car comes with 60W USB-C ports so fast charging is available. In regards to the fast charging pads, I’d suspect a lot of people buying this will be using higher end phones so the split between android and iPhones may be closer than the whole market split. So I think it makes sense to offer as an aftermarket upgrade if interest is really there for this upgrade they may make it standard like they did with some features that were originally aftermarket packages in the 2020 LI ONE when they came out with 2021 refresh.
      I also assume some things had to be cut or lowered to be able to deliver the car at under 470,000rmb.

    • @ashyouknow7420
      @ashyouknow7420 2 года назад

      @@ChinaDriven Putting a 60W wireless charger would probably cost 3-5 dollars more over the standard one for the company and they can charge the customer 10 or 20 dollars for the upgrade so that they would make some profit from each upgrade. More realistically, phones support upto 50W wireless, no phone supports 60W wireless charging and only a handful phones support wireless charging above 25W so they are charging only some people.

    They dont sell those outside of China, what this review for?

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  Год назад +2

      You're absolutely correct. They do not sell these outside of the Chinese market. There are people who do export them. But for the most part they are not available outside of China.
      Why does this review exist? Simply we just try to showcase what is going on in the largest EV market in the world. China's EV market is more mature at all price points then any other market. We show what is happening here, as a pre-cursor to what will come in other markets.
      Personally we believe Li Auto will perhaps transition to international market when they launch their pure EV line-up. We believe their EREV line-up would be popular in the US, but less so in the EU. However, entry for Chinese cars into the US is not an easy path, hence why most Chinese EV companies are entering EU (and other no US markets) first.
      Perhaps you can look at this review to see how a company who has been very successful as a start-up in China, has carved out market share by delivering very strong products that's resonates with consumers.
