Finally got around to watching this and man this intake is so sweet! I am really surprised that it’s heavier than the OEM intake too. That’s pretty crazy to think. I love how this intake keeps the air duct and allows for you to run a fmic if needed. Great video!
Thanks man, it was surprising how n the weight also for me as well. Though the brackets that come with the intake are probably where the little extra weight comes in. Thanks again.
That comparison was great! The differences seemed very obvious to me. Great sound and editing. Intakes are awesome, not sure how they get a bad rap as unnecessary under 400hp?! I think I'm set on this intake.
It’s just on the Cobb OTS stg 1+ 93 map for the tune at the moment. Plan to do a video on the comparison between the stg 1 map and the stg 1+ setup in the future. It definitely 💯 sounds better no doubt lol. Thanks man
@@spdkills83 thanks for reply bro. Yeah idk if it’s just me. But notice it running a bit rich while I’m on WOT around 11.13 or sometimes 11.03 is that normal values during those situations when your going hard on the throttle ?
@@M.B.autoaesthetics The general idea on a tuned setup is that at WOT 11.1-11.6ish is generally acceptable. Cobb OTS maps are typically setup to run on the more (rich) side to be safe for the general masses. While I ran it (for the short time I did) I never really experienced what I would call an extremely rich situation. I thought you were referring to an extreme situation. I apologize for the misunderstanding
@@spdkills83 No worries bro I appreciate your time for responding to a must needed question answered lol. Now I can enjoy the subie in peace without worrying lol. Appreciate it once again ! Have a great day bro !
I just got my 21 sti and i already put an exhaust on it but I would like to put an intake aswell. I can buy this and the Cobb access port with their map and that would be all I need?
I’m assuming that when you say exhaust you are just referring to a cat back correct? If so, then yes the Accessport OTS Cobb stg1+ map would be what you need. You cannot run a DP and an intake at the same time with any of the accessport OTS maps. If you want to add a DP later and utilize the intake you will need a pro tune. Thank you
If your e tuner of choice offers it (most should) then you could run the down pipe and intake together. The OTS Cobb maps are like this (and you may already know) Stg 1 is Catback/stock intake and reflash only. Stg 1+ is Catback/SF Intake and reflash. Stg 2 is Catback/Down pipe/stock intake/ and reflash. This map does not show to be available through Cobb at this time. It was taken out due to EPA reasons. Long story short, if you want to utilize the DP and Intake together it be best to contact your tuner or etuner of choice first. I would personally not recommend running both mods at the same time untuned. Thanks again, hope this helps some.
The intake itself has been fine. No longer running the Cobb OTS map for it as I have added more parts since. As stated thought, the intake has been fine no issues from it now for roughly 5-6k miles or so. Good luck with your decision.

Excellent video and comparison!
Thank you I appreciate it 🤛.
you make great vids.
Nice video man.
Thank you I appreciate it 🤛
Just looks and sound is worth it even if the performance is the same the driving experience is better
Really great comparison
Thank you I appreciate it 🤛
Great video my friend! I plan to get the same one in the future so this was amazing to see!
Good deal man glad it was able to shed some light on it for ya.
Thanks man.
Good content, look forward to seeing where you take the cars development
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Great video, right to the point.
Thank you I appreciate it.
Just for the sound, to me is worthy
I’ve been told by many tuners that the intake doesn’t need to be changed out until you around 350hp
Thanks for the comment, that is essentially true. I changed it out in advance for my current setup. Currently the car is now at 390 WHP on E85.
@@spdkills83 nice
@@spdkills83 I’m still buying the redline just because I’m a carbon junkie lol
@@BobbyB910 I can agree with that lol. It is a very nice piece.
ICE engines are vacuums, wouldn't you want the best breathing ability, regardless of power?
Good stuff bro, Ive been thinking about getting this. Did you tune the car? Sounds awesome too. 👌

Did you run a bit rich when you installed this intake with Cobb ots map?
I personally never really noticed a rich situation with the OTS map while I used it.

do you lose low end torque off the line vs the stock one?
I honestly did not notice any noticeable loss of low end performance. I was using the intake and the Cobb OTS Stage 1+ map at the time.
Can I just get the cover and put it on the oem intake?
You may be able to find an oem carbon cover, but the Cobb carbon intake is one big molded piece. The filter housing and intake duct are one piece.
Hot damn, this guy's thick Accent lol The CF Intake gives it a throatier sound.
The accent has been perfected over time lol 😂
@@spdkills83 I can tell.. lol
Will it fit a 2018 wrx ?
I don’t believe the Carbon SF fits the WRX. Cobb does not have it listed as an intake for the WRX on their site from what I can see.
