You have a great content channel that has something for everyone. I’m so jealous of the old tractors and machinery in general you can buy cheap in the US compared to Scotland. I was one of the few who suggested painting it the blue of your dump truck collection but will have to wait and see where your thought process takes you. Have a good quiet weekend 😁
Yep, that was you and me, Tom. That blue would be sweet. But no matter what color scheme he decides on, I'm sure it'll look great. Can't wait to see where this goes!
JT you are bringing back memories of myself rebuilding a 8N Ford in my High School Ag class 39 years ago. The best thing about that tractor was the day the owner my science teacher drove it home.
something i want to try in my garage I learned from a German manufacturer i worked at. they had mobile peg boards on wheels (but they were all steel) for each workstation that had all the common tools laid out. those tools were never put away in a drawer and were always handy. For my garage I would do the same thing for combination wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, and driver bits. I wouldn't need a 6x8 or whatever size the factory had, but a 3x5 or so would be plenty for a tinkerer and the wheels would make it convenient to store and put at arms reach for projects. I could get away with a lumber construction, but you may want a HD metal one or three.
That went really smoothly...at least on camera. Hefting parts around by yourself can be a problem, at least this tractor is small enough that most of them are one man parts. I can't imagine working some of those bigger tractors like your 1800, 1805, or that Steiger by yourself. Great video, always looking forward to the next one.
Excellent channel 👍 I had a MF 165 split it. Made long alignment pins to help guide two halfs closed. I used two small come alongs to gently pull it together on pins.
You are going to do the same thing we did with the electrical junk the 6 volt. If I remember correctly the head comes off and the valve guides are held in by clips so, if you need to go that route the only needed from a machine shop if valve seats ground. We decided not to grind the head would not have done anything for power.
Man, first time I saw that thing, I couldn't wait for this day. So happy to see another old Fergie ready to bear the standard. Also, I find myself falling in line with the Scots. In a case where originality doesn't really matter (or even, obviously present itself) that "JT's Farms" blue would be an awfully sharp livery. Great job, buddy! Looking forward to the future...
Excellent video JT :) also yes the tractor get fix up for sure 👍 and you taken steps too ! Also glad run plus traveling on power now too and keep up excellent work to ! Welcome on paint colors too and suggestions!
Nice one j.t. glad it went back together ok didn't give you any problems. I can remember from when you got tractor if 3 point workd ok. If you can't get dipstick for it just let me no I send you one.. from Andy in uk
Another good episode. No need to suffer in that head . No circulation ... get like a 2-3ft fan on wheels . Usually they got 3 speeds for a couple hundred bucks. 👍🏻
You make it look easy! Will you get some Massey fenders to replace those Ford ones? You might be able to sell those Ford script fenders for more than enough to get Massey ones. Paint wise it’d look great MF red and silver. However if you went industrial yellow, you could do the forklift too.
You did well fella, I have had hundreds of these in pieces, couple of points I could pull you up on, but I wont bother, well oh well, just the one, never put any gasket gue or thick grease on the casings, in due time, the new gasket will squeeze out.............
It’s the middle of winter here in NZ, it’s not to bad though, still down to a t shirt during the middle of the day. I hear ya though, heat is exhausting
Dark blue mettalic with silver mettalic wheels. Ive always wanted a tractor in those colors. With some silver pin stripes on the hood and silver 3 point arms.
JT, with ya on the heat! I'm on the other side of the pond from you, southern Ontario. Heat's been killer lately. I'm a tad older than you and working in that crap is not good. Trying to do some property clean up, and I can only work a few hours in the morning, then a few hours later in the evening. Tried fishing during the day, but all I can catch is boiled catfish. (And poached Perch. And a Baked Bass or two.) Y'all could paint the Fergy Lambo White. With all that performance shiftin' parts, it's gonna be a speed demon now. Gotta go, blue mountains are callin'. So is Jose, Jack and Waylon..............
Good Morning J T , maybe you should have a big fan at the shop on wheels ,so you can move it anywhere. I remember the humidity was terrible in the mid west. A swamp cooler probably wouldn't work in that area. Have a Great Weekend and don't forget to have a few COLD BEERS. 😅
Hey JT, we live about 15 miles west of Lake Michigan. I know all about humidity 😢 When I went out this AM it was already 70 F and the humidity had to be around 90%. I have lost a bolt or nut from time to time but then, shit happens. I've watched videos where the guy carefully wraps the nuts and bolts in baggies with notes inside. I've never done that. Maybe I'm special because I can tell a main bearing bolt from a oil pan bolt. Yes I keep things organized but the old junk I work on ain't that complicated. Red and Silver!😊
You have a historical tractor there. TO-35's drug sleds to the South Pole in 1957 IGY. Experience Harry Ferguson's draft control plowing! You ought to have one classic parade model that is easy to haul on the fair circuit. Consider another loader rig. I appreciate your efforts and accomplishments.
You need a spool of safety wire around the shop. You'll almost never use it but when you need it nothing else will do. I've still got 2/3 of a spool that my dad stole from work 60 years ago.
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 We went from raining so much we had to mow twice a week to being so hot the red ants stay underground during the hottest part of the day. it was actually 106 yesterday around 7 pm and it felt like the A/C in my car had stopped working but in reality, it was just the sun heating up everything through the windows. Global warming better known as Summer in Texas.
You could really transform that little tractor. Instead of those dish fenders put on those Massey Ferguson flat top fenders. They really look nice. I put two after market ones on one of my 135’s.
Great video you mad that look easy I wouldnt be afraid to tackle one now , I just curious if you were planning on insulating that shop so you got a nice warm place to work this winter?
Stop whining about how hot it is...😂. I live in central Alabama. I was working on one of my Thunderbirds in 97° heat yesterday. Humidity index was 103! Seriously, I think maybe your metal barn is radiating heat to the inside. About 2" of closed-cell spray foam would help that a lot. You are going to wish your door was insulated. Don't ask me how I know... Great video as always JT.
Nice job. I'd paint it Massey Ferguson red. Yellow will look so stupid on that tractor. So if it was me and you don't want to go Gray. Then stay away from yellow, for it is gross my fine fellow. Have a great day😅
@jtsbarnngrill6873 my uncle used to cool his shop which was a little bigger with a window mount unit. I'm sure that steel gets cooked by the sun and then bakes you.
Just a thought instead of making all them trips to town for nuts and bolts, aren't you getting in touch with one of the fastener companies in your area and see if they won't sponsor some of your channel and supply you with some bolt bins so you'll have whatever you need when you need it. Just a thought.
“Fork around”. Dude you are the ultimate corn dog! Lol
😆😆
I thought he was just forkin' with us. It was kind of a forked up joke.
Well done and good to see a little old girl brought back to life
Thanks!

One thing is sure it will look really sweet in its freshly painted livery. Like you am looking forward to that completed tractor.
I never thought of that. If not Ferguson gray, that blue would be fantastic!
@@Hank77442
Yip, on camera it looks a really beautiful shade of blue. But JT knows what he is doing. 🤣🤣
JT you are bringing back memories of myself rebuilding a 8N Ford in my High School Ag class 39 years ago. The best thing about that tractor was the day the owner my science teacher drove it home.
Right on!
You are very talented. To take that old tractor and fix it is amazing.
Wow, thank you!
Even a long day working on the little Fergi you still have good reaction time. Great one as usual.
Thanks!
I like how the hood opens forward. Glad to see it shifting. Seems to be a nice tractor.
It’s not a bad little rig!
Good job and yes you could paint it, or just a real nice detailing. A good polishing maybe a more comfortable seat. 👍🏼
Right on! The seat is a definite thing lol
So satisfying to see it go so smoothly! Can’t wait to see her finished and probably get sold down the road for another project!
That is a possibility
Great job JT I love your videos buddy cheers mate,Peter from Adelaide Australia
Thanks 👍

Montezuma made a range of “crossover” tool chests that opened up and had the main stuff layed out as you describe. Really good.
That is a great idea!

That wire may fool someone into believing that it never came apart, but that silicone will probably not fool anyone lol
Probably not 😆

Love it when a plan comes together. Lil paint and carb rebuild should be good for another 100,000 miles. Great video JT.🤜🤛
Thanks 👍
I hope you paint it original colors or Grey with a nice red white and blue flag wrap
You definitely understand those tractors very well. And I still hope you paint it back original, whatever color that was from the factory.
Thanks!
Good job on getting the trans fixed. I'm still leaning towards yellow for paint
😉.
Great fix JT , gonna be a neat little tractor 👍🏻
Hope so! Thanks!

I gotta say I bet your wondering how in the world how did I get anything fixed with out this new shop!! It's always great watching your videos..
That shop has really been great for my operation!

Paint it pink great birthday present for your daughter 😂🤣
Great idea!! 😆😆
Nice work, turning into a really nice tractor.
Thanks 👍

I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, or can find it in your neck of the woods, but Shiner Beer isn’t bad. It’s brewed down here in Texas.
I’ll look for it!
Good performance on a veteran tractor!👍
Thanks!
Dark blue mettalic with silver mettalic wheels. Ive always wanted a tractor in those colors. With some silver pin stripes on the hood and silver 3 point arms.
That would make for a cool tractor!
Great result 👍
Thanks 👍
I think massey colors will do it good it looks like you need a helper never enough hands!
That’s for sure 😆
You gotta find some proper rear fenders for a Ferguson. Nice job. Saved another one from the scrap heap!

Mission accomplished good video you put the loader on that 165

The farmer I worked for put new tires on it but it was first time since it was new that it had tires with any tread on them
Wow!
Well, I read that video title completely wrong 🤣
Ha! That happens lol
It’s good to see old iron getting some TLC , those old tractors feed America.🍞🧅🍉🥓🥞🥦
Right on!
I live in Seitzerland and over here it‘s hot and humid too. I just drove around in my AC car to cool doen a bit. I hate weather like this!
Right on! Me too lol
jOB WELL DONE!
Thanks!
Damn! I'm late to the show today! Watching with lunch instead of the usual morning coffee. 😒
Better late than never!!
Forking cool 😎
That thing is going to look sharp Black and Silver when you break out the spray guns.😂
You bet it will!
Thanks for posting JT. Another good one
Right on! Thank you!
Can’t believe you didn’t say you were gonna stick a fork in it.😂
Ha! I should have lol

JT. Lake humidity is worse in the Great Lakes region. I'm 3 miles off Lake Erie east of Toledo. I feel ya
