JT's "Luck" is self inflicted... full time job, family, part time farmer, part time mechanic and restorer... not many could keep up. A good role model. Kudos to JT.
The startled look on your face when that thing started was great. I guarantee you. Somebody bought a farm had no idea what that was. And the first thing to go in a junkyard are the tires. I'm so glad you got what you want. Nothing's better than buying something out of a junkyard and finding out it runs. Been there, done that great content j. T keep up the great work. Looking forward to what you do with it next.
JT, was so excited to see this ole girl fire off that quick. Love watching a master mechanic at work. This video will be one of my favorites. Good job my friend.
When I was 16 in 1985 I was looking for a bigger tractor to do tillage work and I found a 1150 for sale in the classified section. It was dualed up and had a factory dog house type cab, but it was a pretty straight machine. The reason I didn’t buy it was that it had a ton of un burnt fuel running down the outside of the muffler. She slobbered bad. It might have cleared up being hooked up to a plow pulling hard, but then again it might not had. They wanted 4000 back then and I only had a 5000 dollar line of credit from the bank here in town and I didn’t want to gamble on it. I realized that it was unusual for a bank to be giving a loan to a kid and I didn’t want to screw it up. The vice president was taking a risk on me. 4000 dollars was quite a bit of money to me back then. I ended up getting a 1135 which I still have today. I’ve been running the 1135 since 1986 and I’m now 55 years old. Nice find on the 1150. she seems to run good! 👍🏼
I’ve watched your channel over the years, and am completely jealous of your new iconic 1150 Great tractor and Awesome video. You said Wow in the video and Wow doesn’t even come close to what you’ve got yourself there. This will hopefully be the start of a good few videos on what you do to her. Best buy on the internet by a Country mile. Superb channel JT 👍
I find it somewhat weird that old Tractors still get scrapped in America. Here in the UK, they're basically sacred. You rarely see them get scrapped here.
Honestly it's rhat way here in the US too. That's why he's so shocked to not only have found it there, but be in such great shape. I don't think I've ever saw an old tractor at a scrap yard unless it's totally junk. There is tractor junkyards here though where old tractors will be put out and a guy can come in and pick off the parts he needs. Once it's picked clean they'll gut it and sell the parts they can save and scrap what they can't.
Usually when an old machine ends up in the yard it’s because she’s either plum wore out or something really expensive broke or you can’t get parts to fix something.
You are either born rich or born lucky and as someone else’ said yours is the best U tube channel it’s so good I got to watch it three times at least 🇬🇧isle of Wight 🇬🇧
Your so lucky , that was a great find and great video. You owe your friend big for that lead . In 1979 a local neighbour bought brand new 1135 , god we though it was a giant.keep up the good work . And greetings from Ireland.
Watching that go down the road on that little trailer gave me flashbacks to when I did the same thing with the remains of a 2255 White. The trailer started to split in half partway home. Luckily I got pulled off the highway before it broke all the way. Spent the next day straightening, welding and reinforcing the trailer before towing it the rest of the way home. Glad to see you made it with no issues.
I helped a friend restore old tractors for a few years. I painted classic cars. Bikes and jet boats for over 30 years but really enjoyed painting old tractors. Allot of satisfaction in it.
Now this is exciting. The 1150 was the first big tractor I ever drove! Great, great tractor. I am looking forward to watching this beast come back to life!
Man you've got to be kidding me that is great man I'm happy you came across that what in the hell was somebody thinking when they just junked its either way great show man I'm happy for you
I my Lord I can’t believe it! It didn’t cross my mind when I first started watching this video, because your so far from me, but when you showed that hydraulic gauge it all came back to memory. That is my dad’s tractor that was stolen over 8 years ago. I had put the gauge on it because of some lift issues while I was working on it. It still has an open case on it even though the detective that was handling the case has retired. It would mean so much to the family to get it back to the farm and see it plow the old home place fields again. My dad bought it new when I was a kid and grew up with it so you can only imagine how surprised I was seeing it again. P.S. I’m just screwing with you. Awesome tractor.
Sorry I know I probably shouldn’t have, but that would be my Luke if I found a tractor like that. Enjoy your videos, you and diesel creek are the main ones I watch all the time. Im trying to get the whole editing thing figured out so I can post more. I’m fixing to get a 65 series Massey that’s L.P. Back running for a friend so he can sell it. Then brakes on my 240, hopefully I can post them.
Looks like the Massey saviour has done it again👍 once you get the front grill sorted out it'll put a smile back on its face.👌 better buy Scott some beer's 1st job.🍻🍻
JT I have to say this is the best video I’ve seen to date. I’m like you, why would anyone scrap a perfectly operational tractor in the junk yard. I know I certainly wouldn’t. One note I noticed that although having more HP it sold for less than your 1105. Congratulations, that makes up for all the sour notes you’ve encountered.
Bro, I'm happy for you. I would love to find something like that!! a farm without a bunch of tractors is a ton of hard work! Hope you enjoy your new toy ;)
Congrats on a great find. The Gods have smiled once again. Somewhere, the head of Massey-Ferguson is smiling and thinking another of his "children" has been saved. I truly enjoy your videos JT, please do keep them coming and keep on smiling. I only wish I could lead you to the grille pieces you need.
Wow,,,God has truly blessed you with that purchase and your talents on this day to bring her to life,,,good luck on your refurbishment, I’d like to see the end result brother 😎
Couldn't be happier for you. But now I'm jealous. You got my dream tractor. Has to be a 2805 out there with your name on it. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
Great video friend thanks again you done amazingly well with the tractor specily when it's came from the scrap yard it's been your lucky year with all you have purchased 😊. Please keep the great videos coming friend from Scotland 😊
Heck I was excited just to see the tires on that thing let alone see it run. We had an old Massey when I was in my teens. (56now) not sure what model it was but seeing this thing brought back a lot of 40 year old memories.

Wow, you got a jewel! I had a chance to get a free 1155. It has some pretty expensive issues but man it doesn’t get any better than a V8 Massey! After watching this I may have to reconsider it. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your show!
Fantastic brother. This is the one I’ve been waiting for welcome to the 1150 club. Hard to find an 1150 anywhere. Even in a scrap. They’re bought up for parts and restoration projects. I bought mine already restored painted new tires. Mine is a 1971. It has what Massey called the pressure hitch. 3 point hitch and drawbar. Never seen one before. It was an optional weight transfer system to transfer weight from what you’re pulling to the rear wheels. I know you’re excitement. Especially when it started up with half a crank. That V8 sounds so good. The grill and nose cone probably already sold for parts. It’ll look incredible when you’re done. Love to send you some photos of mine.
Hey JT You took a hell of chance on that M-F 1150, & the pulled muscles, & sunburn paid off, I think this is your biggest, & best roll yet! Man what a pay off, & well deserved🍻!

Excellent video JT :) this Massey Ferguson 1150 that nice find a buddy yours found for you also yes surprises me that tractor you add wheels to gave some good luck boost to her! Also very nice plus I would add Black or Grey Bottle of STP Total Treatment fuel injection and carb cleaner in fuel tank too ! Or get GM Automatic Transmission fluid add 500 ml to Desiel fuel tank full every month and give tune up too!
Really too bad you didn't find it before someone stripped all those parts off. Going to be a sweet tractor when your done. Awesome find! Thanks for the Vid.
