    • @Cosmo-Kramer

It wasn't the wheat in the grass that made you feel sick. Wheatgrass juice is a potent detoxifier, and it stirs up those toxins already in your body to eliminate them. So it was the stirring up of those toxins that caused your digestive issues. It's temporary, obviously, as the toxins are eventually eliminated. I suggest you re-challenge yourself (leave the kids out of it for now) with a smaller amount, and then build up from there. I prefer it on an empty stomach, and never had any issues tolerating it. I would try it that way, as it might've been the combo of the grass and the other contents in your smoothie that contributed to your discomfort.

I'm 32 now, I've had joint pain, especially in my knees since I was 14. At first I thought it was just growing pains, then I thought I had bad genetics for joints. Eventually, I came across the idea of perhaps my diet was effecting me, as when I traveled I noticed my inflammation levels changed in conjunction with my eating habits. Fast forward to finding keto and wow what a difference. After about 2 weeks, I noticed that my wrist pain that I've had since freshman year in college was gone (I broke my wrist and it had bothered me since) and then I noticed that going up and down stairs no longer bothered my knees. I kept doing keto for a few more weeks and then wanted to test it. So I went on a carb heavy diet. Nearly a week later I could barely turn my wrist it hurt so bad. I did several more keto on and off rotations and the results were the same every time. On keto my joint pain is nearly non-existent and on my old diet the inflammation is nearly crippling in comparison. I would challenge anyone who suffers from chronic pain to try keto and give it a month to see full results. You won't regret it...

I suspect that if your ancesters have eaten rice as stample food for generations, you might tolerate it pretty well (in moderation) if you are healthy. For me - whose ancestors didn't eat rice - rice is the worst thing for my blood sugar. Even black rice (NOT the same as wild rice), which is said to be lower in carbs and which tastes delicious (I love rice - just can't eat more than a spoon or two without getting in trouble). But I can eat some potatoes in a meal or one slice of (gluten free oats) bread without the same kind of issues.

@@scott8146 I've been doing this. I get organic wheat berries, soak and sprout them and then grind them myself to make bread. I'm sure it's still not the best thing to eat but I'm hoping it's at least better as the junk sold at the store. I don't feel any negative effects from eating it in moderation.

Are you saying buckwheat, potato and corn flours are better for health because they contain no gluten? I know in French Brittany buckwheat flour became a mainstay of the food culture there because at some point in history there was a decree stating farmers should produce a certain amount of buckwheat because it is highly nutritious and easily produced. Lots of recipes we can't do without gluten, but maybe there are substitutes?

Never liked wheat products. Even when we were all brainwashed to think it was the healthiest thing to eat, I just had a bad feeling about it and tried to always avoid it. I'm sure it had a lot to do with how I hate the taste, but I just felt it wasn't good. Watched my mom eat so much of it growing up, always being told it was good for me and it just bothered the hell out of me. Granted I was a heavy white bread consumer, so I wasn't doing much better, but I've given up bread all together about a year ago.

I am actually Celiac. I used to wonder, why as an athlete, I always did better low carb. In my late 20s, had a few suspicions, it might be wheat flour as some sourdough products, corn and rice never bothered me. I was 45, by time learned my whole family has gluten intolerance. Most died of gi bleeds. I have tried European wheat breads, and had no better reactions, compared to regular. After I completely eliminated gluten, I realized it was not the low carb lifestyle that improved my health, but completely, eliminating gluten. No more acid reflux, canker sores, acne, thinning hair, skin rashes, anxiety attacks, asthma and allergies, edema, joint pain, memory loss. My body temperature went from a normal of 98.6 degrees, to 95 degrees. No more hot flashes (had them since was a teen, and hated wearing jackets in winter snow). My focus improved. Cured my mothers insulin dependent diabetes, hair loss, and her liver function. She had cirrhosis, and her Child Pugh scores dramatically improved. She was initially given a few weeks to months to live. She lived another 2.5 years, until she suffered a kidney injury during covid infection.

the reason you choose wheatgrass because it is in a form of GREEN , anything close to earth is essential to our body , the more you go up to trees , such as fruits the more its not beneficial , compare roots to greens (herbs) to vegetables to fruits , when you compare the health problems from fruits with vegetables and greens and roots youll see how much we need to be close to earth as possible , and since the earth emitting negative ions and the positive ions in the air , these both effect on our health
