Ohhh boy It's all over. MrL has discovered Tool :)

That was my first thought too. How has he not been recommended Tool by now.
Legend has it that Danny Carey made a deal with the devil. Not sure what Danny got but the devil got drumming lessons
ROFL
Was this after he went down to Georgia?
THIS COMMENT WINS
I bow to you.
Good one bro this whole band is above the devil
Saying Tool has legendary characteristics is a lot like saying the sun is a bit warm.
Haahaha! ♡
@@111... I have sunburn
Amén. Tool is just amazing.
haha
@@dustyc324 yup. I think we all do! ✌
I've gone down a rabbit hole of watching black dudes react to Tool, and now I just keep picturing a Tool concert full of black dudes in the audience just fuckin jammin. That's world peace right there. :)
bro you went there..... xD
black then white are all I see, in my infancy, red and yellow then came to be reaching out to me...lets me see.
Let Tool and their mastetful music brings us together. This is a great thing.
so relatable
notice zero thumbs down to this observation
If you want more of the drummer, Danny Carey, do Pneuma live drum cam. Watch the octopus at work. You just woke up the Tool army.
Yeah bro this 1
I agree but he's gotta listen the studio version first THEN watch Danny bang it out.
This right here.
Danny Carry. Greatest Drummer Alive. \m/
It has to be the live drum cam though
I love watching people discover Tool for the first time.
Never gets old
It’s the only hobby I picked up during the pandemic.
Watching people listen to Tool for the first time is the absolute best thing!
Right?! I tend to catch myself bouncing from one vid to the next watching first timer reactions and they are all about the same as my first time reaction to hearing Ænima in like 8th grade lol just in awe
Been doing for an hour now 😏
So true
I've listened to Tool so much I'm now addicted to watching people react to Tool.
Same.
Me too
Right!
I wish I could go back in time and hear TOOL for the first time BUT it's almost as awesome as watching TOOL reaction videos.🤘😆🤘
FYI: If you hear whispered chants of “one of us”, it is the TOOL Army calling you to the mothership.
Slide in, the water's fine.
It's a beautiful place to be

I've often wanted to change Tool Army to Tool Hive.... we have that mentality..... just saying
@@justbob242 Is that a reference to "the water is fine" by rishloo? Which is arguably their most tool-like song. Probably not, from the context of the discussion but interesting none the less.
The next song you should be doing is their entire discography

Just say Tool it saves time.
How could you miss Hooker with a Penis? One of my favorites.
Everything they ever did. As well as everything a perfect circle put out.
If Sober, it MUST be the live version in the pink onesie..
My personal favorite is The Swamp Song.
They don't just have ledgendary characteristics, they ARE legends.
My personal favorite is "Aenema".
Yep
They are gods and yes Aenema is my favorite too
Mine is Rosetta Stoned, but I would love to see him react to Aenema
Learn to swim.
Eff yeah!!!! Best metal song in existence
I’ve always believed “The Pot” to be the best entry into Tool
most fun and accessible
I started Tool with Opiate, when I was in my teenage angsty years, and it was perfect. The themes of rebirth and evolution in Lateralus could not have been better going from destructively angry to introspective. The best entry song to Tool is any of them; they all lead down the rabbit hole
One of my favorite songs by Tool, to be honest.
Prison sex was the first tool I recall hearing. Still my favorite
and all roads lead to The Grudge
Tool is a 4-man group and if you replace any of them, it’s not going to be the same band at all. The level of skill and talent they each bring to the table cannot be overstated, they are all legends in their own rights.
Definitely true. Look how different they were with Paul on bass. Along comes Justin and, like Emeril says, BAM! It's a very different band. I just love both incarnations so much...
cannot forget what paul was to TOOL though. justin is great but paul played a huge part in the bands history as well.
We're all waiting on Adam to do a side-project, music-wise. The other three have. Please....
You can’t go wrong with any TOOL song
Die Eier Von Satan
@@richardaversa7128 love it
Eggs of SATAN love it
I mean this sounds like hyperbole, but literally every single song is a fucking godsend. These are guys are amazing.. my recommendation is listen to the album version of push it and then listen to the one from Merkaba (live track)
He’s not ready for Third Eye or Rosetta Stoned yet though.
"They sound like they will stay for a really long time" Tool is eternal, all this pain is an illusion.
This body holding me reminds me of my own morality my friend!!
Tool isnt just music, it's an experience.
Yes it is
"They have legendary characteristics."
Yes, legends tend to.
Tool has gotten less angry, and more internalized with each album, but has never made a bad song. Pneuma is one off their latest album. It means breath of life/creativity from the soul. The drum cam video they made has become very popular for reaction videos. Try it out. Danny Carey is nicknamed "The human octopus" because he can hold 4 rhythms, one with each limb and is also a master of polyrhythms. It's a lot mind-fu*kery. The more you listen the deeper it goes.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
A billion upvotes. Watching reaction videos of that Vic Firth drum cam of Danny is a guilty pleasure. He will drum you into another dimension with or without the aid of psychedelics . MrL here knows not what he's done. I sub'd and can't wait to watch the next one.
Definitely about to sub like, and share for this tool journey. I think I just follow around reactors on RUclips only to follow their discovery of tool, then as they get pulled inside and more and more intrigued,, you see the subs explode, and by the time they get halfway done with the laterals disc, they are proclaiming to be a member of our army, and then by 10,000 days, they are a full fledged expert! Good luck MrL
Once you've listened to that go on and listen to ticks and leeches, drumming masterclass!
It's like that.... If you like one tool song you like all tool songs.... If you don't like tool...... Who the fuck doesn't like tool!!?
The Grudge should be the next song and then honestly just listen to the rest of the album because Lateralus is freaking amazing lol.
The best album ever written in my OPNION
This was my go-to TOOL song on guitar. Definitely higher tier material right here.
One of the only albums that just flow together , tool you have to listen to the whole album
Yup the grudge next!
Agreed.
7:01 "Let me know which Tool songs I should be doing next"... oh laawd... how much time you got?
Tool, Rush, Zeppelin, original Sabbath. Bands with every musician standing on their own.
You missed Pink Floyd
Gotta check out 46 & 2 and Sober
My 2 favs
Regarding the drummer check out-- Danny Carey | "Pneuma" by Tool (LIVE IN CONCERT)
Yes.
Do yourself the favor. It’s worth it to appreciate them.
Tool is a band that is timeless. These dudes have been doing this for three decades and they've only grown as people and musicians. This is a good intro to Tool as it's not nearly as out there conceptually as well as depth of the lyrical content. These men mastered their craft.
Well said
By any chance, were you high when you wrote this?
I mean this in a good way, just to be clear.
And, well said, indeed!
@@111... Nope just a former musician who appreciates people who take their time to become masterful in what they do.
@@josephtocci14 former musician? What happened, if you don't mind?
As for everything you wrote, I absolutely agree. And I'm a vocalist, lyricist, very basic bassist (still learning) & can't imagine ever not being a musician!
I can forsee not being a paid musician one day, but I don't think I'll ever NOT be a musician.
I hope you just mean you're no longer a professional musician & nothing bad happened to you that took away such a gift!
I can not imagine ever becoming a former musician; I'd be devastated.
@@111... just lost my passion to create and learn. Not much to it anymore.
They made us wait 13 years for this album. And it debuted at no 1, and all their past albums came to the top 100.
And taylor swift lost her no. 1 spot and was like "who tf Tool?" Lol, Maynard posted a meme of himself colored and photoshopped to look like thanos and him snapping and her just turning to dust lol. Classic.
We have just seen a man's life changed forever. Welcome to the Tool Army bro..."let's get it"
Try Schism by Tool
"Something that you would want to listen to again and again and again, after you hear it for the first time"
Tool are exactly this. I never tire of listening to their catalog and have been a fan since first hearing them in the early 90's.
I was hooked the first time hearing/seeing the video for Sober on MTV.
"Right in two". It's a dark mind trip in the creation of human. It's not only a song, it's an experience
The drummer is Danny Carey. RUclips search for Danny Carey drum cam and you can watch him in action on their latest album from 2019.
The drum cam footage was filmed in Boston and I was lucky enough to be at that show. They still sound as good live as they do on their albums... Maynard's voice has only gotten better and Danny's still one of the GOAT's if not the THE GOAT.
Yes yes!!
Top five drummer of all time🤘
@@aaronwaldron9273 top 3 ..in my OPNION the best living percussionist
@@aaronwaldron9273 Just curious... who else is in your top 5? I won't make you rank them, because let's be real... the GOATs are the GOATs for a reason.
So fun watching people react to Tool for the first time. “These guys have the potential to be legends”. Jokes on you, they are LEGENDS.
He was in the presence of gods and didn't know it. He soon will.
Their is no other band like TOOL. Prog Rock at its best. The Grudge, Lateralus, Jambi.
I think to me they are the modern Pink Floyd.
They break with usual conventions and create something new, wonderful, something that you definitely have to call ART.
This combined with excellent musical skills, good voice and damn deep lyrics.
All this together makes Tool one of my favorite bands.
The only problem with bands like these is that they absolutely ruin large sections of the music industry for me. XD
I love watching people discover Tool, because it reminds me of listening to them for the first time.
If you're going to take this pill, get ready to make a playlist for TOOL.
preferably if by playlist you mean "the whole albums back-to-back"
Expert level bass is a thing they're known for
Fear innoculum blew that ten year wait away and buried EVERYTHING. 7empest. Hands down.
Man 7empest is really good but Pnuema drums are wild. Or even Descending just gets God damn DOWN.
"This band sounds like it could be around for awhile" oh, my guy, they already have. And that lead singer, Maynard James Keenan, is a mad genius that doesn't really have an equal. Also everyone else in the band is a legend in their own right. Historically, I am glad I was alive at the same time as Tool. They are a phenomenon.
MAYNARD!!!
To get the live effect of Maynard and TOOL you need to watch the live version of Sober...... take my word for it 😳🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I fully support every other suggestion in the comments!
Did a double take when I saw this comment... had to go back and make sure it wasn’t a Tom Macdonald reaction! 😂 #HOG!!
@@STILL-KICKIN lol😂 I love good music.... it's in my blood. That's why I don't start a reaction channel.... I know all the music.🤣

@@Tylerdoesit not saying you can't... 🤷♀️ I was speaking solely for myself.
Tool - sober , was the very first song I’d ever heard of there’s when they dropped back in the day. Anyhow have a good one ✌🏻❤️🇨🇦
I love seeing people discover their third eye 👁
Listening to Tool will make you a better lover. It starts slow, but with an interesting hook. It hints at an emotional and intellectual depth, but doesn't overplay its hand. It builds intensity and teases it out for just a LITTLE BIT longer than you think it should and then drops the climax on you like a bomb. Ive been a fan of this band for 20 years and there are songs that still give me goosebumps to this day
Of course, 25% of every album is unlistenable filler, but that's kinda like being a lover too.
You should just react to Tools whole album "Aenima". The whole damn thing is amazing.
You should just react to *insert any tool album*. The whole damn thing is amazing.
Ænima*
Danny Carey drums on “Pneuma” the best drummer in the world right now IMO
He is great but there are people like Gene Hoglan and Alex Rudinger that are still alive. Your lack of knowledge of other great drummers is just a product of extreme bias. Danny is fucking great and is one of the goats but he is nowhere near the best in comparison to all the other great drummers out there who are just as good.
@@keithgraham8588 you have no idea what my knowledge level is. Like I said it’s MY OPINION.
@@keithgraham8588 Danny is The greatest sorry no one can keep all 4 limbs doing different Polyrhythms .... like Danny... terry bozzio is up there Neil Peart RIP is another i woulda considered best RIP
Have you seen the reaction video he did to Pneuma? It’s pretty great
Danny Carey is better then Gene and Alex are you kidding. Bill Ward is #1 though.
Tool. You're in for a possible life changing experience as you go down the rabbit hole and listen to them more and more. Especially relistening to songs. You'll discover more every time.
40 plus year rock drummer here and i have to say i just love Tool, such a unique style and sound and these guys take it to a A Whole Nother Level ! Welcome to the world of Tool , Great reaction and best of luck man .
Favorite band of all time 🖤🖤🖤 Jinjer has caught up with them more than anyone else. But I think Tool will always hold that spot since they have for the last 30 years lol Please do more!! 46&2, Schism, Sober, Stinkfist, 10,000 Days, The Grudge, Third Eye, Lateralus, Aenima, Parabol/Parabola, really just listen to everything lol
Their first EP came out in 1991.
And they are indeed legendary 🖤
Blame Hoffman / Rosetta Stoned !!!!
First live show 1996 for me. All time no.1
Jinjer is bad ass. Tool is of the gods
Jinjer is good but Tool is all alone on an island
Yeah, for sure! Tool is so amazing, all around. Great live!
But, JINJER though! Pretty close, second! Haha! Can't wait to see them live again, later this year! 🤘
Honestly you should just do album reviews of Tool. If you stick to single songs do lyric videos, so much meaning behind the words but everyone interprets them differently.
100
Damn!!! Man I remember this exact moment that you’re having now, the very first time I heard this band. It was the most shockingly moment I’ve ever had listening to music. Blew my mind lol. It’s like TOOL is a giant black hole and I’ve been standing in front of it for over twenty years! Enjoy my brother!
I'm 46 and have been listening to tool since high school...and everytime I hear that base, damn... it gets me everytime just like the very first time.
🎸💗🔥🔥🔥
Tool is the band you should really do lyrical analysis on after listening to the song. It's honestly 2 different experiences. Song. Lyrics. Then afterwards, knowing and understanding meaning, the songs take new life.
so true!
map is not the territory.
even tool will tell u this.
Agree the lyrics vs. music/overall sound of any Tool song.
BUT- I honestly do not believe it's truly possible to state the "meaning" in the context of there being ONE meaning...for ANY Tool song.
I firmly believe the lyrics are subjective, never objective, when it comes to Tool.
@@111... I listened to Tool for years before reading their lyrics, for a long time never even know half the words being said. It's kind of crazy how your mind can make up meaning where there was nothing even close to it in the source material. The true lyrics are masterful of course, but the personal meaning you derive from Tool is legendary
Maynards lyrics and vocals are the highest tier possible
TOOL is the band all other rock bands want to be.
Been hooked on TOOL for 20+ years. LEGENDARY barely covers their work. This latest work is a Masterpiece. You nailed it. "ART".
The Drummer is Danny “The Octopus” Carey, if you want to see his is God Level Talent, you have to check out the Live Drum Cam video of “Pnuema”. ruclips.net/video/FssULNGSZIA/видео.html
Other Tool song suggestions: Lateralus, 46&2, Parabol/Parabola, Schism, Jambi. Those are just a few, there are SO many
Agreed
Yes that video is amazing
A well-known fact about TOOL fans: One cannot listen to just one song, they listen to the ENTIRE ALBUM. \m/
I'd recommend a song, but it really doesn't matter which route you take.. It's all really a journey on it's own.
And then we don't listen to anything else....for years...and years...
While each song is masterfully done, listening to a Tool album straight through is an ethereal experience. ART.
You couldn’t be more correct bro!
I got 30 years of adoration for these genius’s!
I hadn’t realized you didn’t react to any TOOL yet, and I’ve already been massively enjoying your takes. Holy shit bro...you don’t know what you just stepped in. Keep reacting to TOOL songs and your views and subscribes are going to skyrocket. Welcome to the TOOL family. They are literally the best band in the history of music. My favorite by far, followed by Deftones. Can’t wait to see more.
Don't put Deftones in the same sentence as Tool. 🤢🤮
@@rxtuninginc8444 GFY
@@rxtuninginc8444 I love the Deftones, but you are correct. Different level entirely.
All you need to know is that as a band they wrote a song strictly based on the fibonacci sequence, from the notes to syllables in the lyrics. Just let that sink in for a second.
Lateralus
And also one based solely on the singers penis.
and the lead singer thinks the song itself and construction of it was sophomoric, as in ... they can (and have) done better. But everyone loves it for its complexity.
They're arguably one of the best bands in history. Absolute masters of their crafts the lot of them
This is hands down the best song ever in my book always has been that way
Okay okay okay! TOOL!
Let's go sir!
Please do TOOL - Jambi
Pneuma should be next the Danny Carrie live version from tool

That will blow his mind
TOOL has been around since 1990 and are still going strong. Legendary indeed.
Bro, I love the "I am listening to a tool song for the first time" look on your face. Theres no going back now
Tool is appreciable on every level, excellent for just background passive listening (chores), great for more focused tasks (driving, gaming etc), and if you want to just sit and listen to the lyrics or deep dive into the meaning or story behind it there's plenty to work with
Lateralus is a great one. The Grudge is another great one to react to.
I love watching newbies getting hooked by Tool. Welcome to pure musical joy, pal.

The only time God comes down and takes human form is to go to T00L concerts and support his brothers....

There can only be world peace ..when three people can simultaneously look each other in the eyes ....is the context of the album art for 10000 days ..done by an amazing artist named Alex Grey
8:30 "Does this drummer have any solo work?"
Not exactly, at least as far as I know, but he's had a side project forever called Pigmy Love Circus. I love their song "Livin' Like Shit"
Welcome to the wonderful world of Tool. Probably any song all the 1,000 people ahead of me would be a great follow up. Every member of the band is a master of their craft. Maynard is my favorite vocalist. I couldn't recommend enough.
There's a live drum cam of their song "Pneuma" if you want to check out a phenomenal video
Been waiting on some Maynard
Living vicariously through new Tool fans.

I've been listening to tool for probably 20yrs or more. Definitely unique and one of the best of all time.

Danny Cary live drum cam performance. Songs... pretty much everything.
TOOL IS ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY!!!!!! You’re awesome
25 years and its like the first time every time. My neighbourhood knows when I listen to tool.
Do Tool - Lateralus , it's one of their most Tool-ish songs, it's legendary, a great introduction. The Pot is one of their most "classical rock" songs, but they has this other aspect that makes them differen and just better than all the other metal bands. It's this sad and beautiful connection to nature and reality that, although it sounds pretentious, takes a certain intelligence to get. Not the kind of intelligence that can be measured in a school test, but something else, something that has no name. I'm sure you'll love it. But, all their songs are amazing.
Pneuma Live Danny Carrey view (drummer), sometimes I swear he’s a robot.
Yes Legendary Characteristics! They are by far one of the best bands to ever play music.
Top 10 song of all time! All tiime! All-comers!
The first time I heard this song I listened to it like 20 times in a row after that. And I still don't get tired of listening to it now. Love this song.🤘🤘🤪👍🔥💥♥️ They're all top level, insanely talented musicians.
any tool song is amazing but the drum cam for Pnuema is amazing. listen to the song then go check the drum cam
Amazing band. Amazing musicians. A treasure.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. This band has touched my soul and forever changed me.❤️
Dude, just do all of them next. Pick a song, from any of their albums, especially from ÆNIMA or Lateralus, and you'll fall in love
"Ticks and Leeches" is my personal favorite by TOOL. Doesn't get a lot of recognition, but Danny Carey goes insane on the drums in that track. Far in away their most aggressive song, IMO.
Except for the 4 minute interlude where it's so soft and melodic (so the studio couldn't use it for radio)...which was the entire point of the song. To tell those leeches to fuck off. "You want hard? Sure. Here's hard....with 4 minutes of soft build up inbetween. Try and play that on the radio, ticks."
Discovering what we have known and loved for 25 years. If there is better music than Tool I have yet to hear it.
I grew up with metal, punk, funk, and hip hop, Zeppielin, the Doors, and metal nonstop.
Tool is the epitome of it all.
