The use case is a very interesting addition to your videos and I am glad that you have the proviso that it’s all dependent on good shot placement of course. You will be aware that here in New Zealand we do a lot of long-range deer shooting. The vast majority of shooters in this niche use soft fragmenting bullets as terminal performance is significantly improved at low velocity / energy compared to hard bonded or monometal bullets. The ELDX is a favourite bullet but I would say the ELDM probably has a greater share of that niche. The ELDM is an incredibly effective long-range hunting bullet. A lot of our North American cousins cannot get their head around that and can get quite upset!
Thanks guys for the great info, I have a 270 weatherby that I have been thinking of loading the eldx bullets in and definitely will be doing so now based on your results in 270 wsm👍
I wonder why some many other podcasters hate this bullet. Looks OK to me. I would like to add that as a result of watching your channel I purchased a Tikka 270 WSM.
Thanks for the great test. The ELD-X is a really impressive round given that it is 1/3 the price of an Accubond. Question is if that is a reasonable argument when looking at the Total overall Cost for a hunter. I like the high BC even at short distances. My 30-06 200 grain handload has a 500 ft-lb advantage at 300 yards compared to a classic 150 grain flying barn door like the Core-Lokt
I think it would be an interesting to have a video with a test of one bullet in two cartridges of the same diameter. Example, video test this bullet in 270 Win & WSM and see if there is a material difference in bullet performance at different distances. Great job as always.
I appreciate the video. My savage 6.5 cm loves the eldx in factory ammo. I’ve loaded a few rounds and they seem to impact the same at least at 100 yards. They have done well on the whitetail deer we have. Happy hunting and good luck 👍.
Used in 270 win these pillz drop deer, and take bear often. Last deer was at 175 yards and almost brisket shot. Entry was just infront of the shoulder and found the projectile in the opposite side ham about an inch from touching the hide on the butt. Stayed together and put it down.
@@frontlinerejects8029Thanks, yes I have watched that one. Just wondering if the 140 would perform any different. Also would love to see the 180 grain interlock flat base out of the 30-06!
Though I mostly shoot Nosler bullets in my 270 Win. I bought some of the 145 grain Eldx the other day and am in the processes of developing a load for it. I'm starting out with IMR4350, and we'll go from there. What powder were y'all using on the loads you were shooting?
I was very interested in the eldx 145 270, to be released in Australia... So thank you for the review and hard work. I definitely grab a box or two of those but somehow is this design really suitable for long range hunting !?
I can't wait for the 308 Winchester, 178 grain, ELD-X test!
Thank you for your hard work!
We will be running that bullet in our 30-06 shortly
@@frontlinerejects8029 Great! Will you also be doing a 308 Win test? I need lower velocity data points.

Your page is honestly the best on all of youtube for projectile testing

Better than I expected from that bullet! Could you run a test with the 140 grain btsp interlock in that rifle sometime?
We have a video with the 130gr interlock in this chambering, check our expansion playlist

Awesome channel! We love it. Could you please test 300blk subsonic loads and bullets.
Can you do a video on 284 cal 175 gr eldx and 30 cal 212 gr eldx? Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the video , good information is sometimes hard to come by.
I love the WSM I have a 300 trying to decide between the 270 n 7mm right now i have a 6.5 prc so i think that negates 270 n leads me more to 7mm
awsome information could you try 110gr TTSX out of the 270wsm
I just ordered some speer impact 140 grain for 6.5 prc getting 2970 fps from my chronograph. What's your thoughts on those bullets thanks in advance
Seems like hornady has buffed their eldx line
Can you do a 270 wsm Berger vld 130 or 140 grain
Have you tried any heavier bullets in the 270wsm
We've got a video on the 165 Nosler ABLR in the 270 WSM.
Great ill watch it
Good good guys.
👍
Try nosler 270 140 yellow tip
The Ballistic Tip? We have a video on the 130's in this chambering, check our expansion series playlist.
What was the muzzle velocity of this test I haven’t tried the eld-x
Upper right-hand corner of the graphs.
