    2 -3 and 400 hundred provided a good example of controlled expansion at your velocities of 2,400, 2,300 and 2,200 fps. Great test and graphs.

    when i bought my savage 110 ultralite in 6.5cm i got 1 box of a bunch of different factory offerings, to try and find the most accurate one in my gun. the bondstrike was the hands-down winner.

    I can't help but think this would be the perfect Elk round from a shortish barreled 308 Winchester. I would love to see the same tests out of some sort of 16-19 inch 308, I predict spectacular results! Thank you for the tests!

    • @frontlinerejects8029
      @frontlinerejects8029  Год назад +2

      The only .308 diameter Bondstrike that Norma makes is the 180 grain offering, and we do have a video on that in .300 WM.

      @EdAb Год назад

      @@frontlinerejects8029 Right, I saw and loved that video!
      As great as that video was, it doesn't address what I'm talking about. I think this bullet is better suited to med-low velocity impacts. The lowest velocity you achieved in that 300 WM test was 2451 feet/second. I bet 2451 ft./sec. would be the muzzle velocity of the 180gr., factory load, out of the average 18" 308 barrel.
      Would you consider doing a short barrel 308 Winchester test? I'd love to see what its performance would be like at around 1800 fps!
      Cheers

    I can tell you from first hand experience, that at 130 yards the bondstrike 143 grain leaving my 22” barrel 6.5 creed at 2717-2740 fps, that bullet acts like a Berger in a mule deer shoulder. It hit right in the arm pit and lodged in the far shoulder. The bullet was a copper jacket that looked like it had a small smear of lead on it. It killed very effectively, but it made me not use the bondstrike rounds I have for my 300 wsm. I didn’t feel comfortable using that bullet at 3100 fps if I got a shot under 200 yards on a elk.

  • @Sourdough444

    That result at 500 is impressive. Equally impressive is you catching those bullets at 500.

    The factory load from norma in 6.5 creed works good on elk. My boy used it to take a cow at over 650 yards.

    Very interesting. I was thinking of using this out of a 6.5 prc for black bear this next fall. Now I’m curious how the accubond will do. Almost wondering if it’s a fluke because it’s so different than how it performed with the 300 win mag and that was even at higher velocities.

    Another excellent video gentlemen. I'd like to request the Speer Grand Slam - not much of a long range bullet, but been good to me inside 200yds for bear and deer in BC.

    I was thinking this bullet would let me use a 6.5 PRC for elk with better weight retention that the EL-X bullet and better expansion than the CX. Now I'm reconsidering the caliber. The 7 PRC is the obvious step-up caliber, but only the EL-X and CX bullets are currently available available in factory loads.

      I've been really interested in the 6.5 prc and I'll probably buy one in the near future. If I were going for elk with that cartridge I'd lean towards the 127gr barnes LRX or the 140gr nosler accubond. 7 prc is a great option tho

    Is the BC really high on this bullet? It’s probably fairly thin is why it came apart more than expected.
