Praying is a nice way to talk with yourself, to order your ideas, to fix yourself. That is one of the few good things about religion imo. And that is the message in this scene. Elliot is always talking with himself, which is the same believers do when they think they are talking to God.

The destination is you, like the destination of the show was HIM, Eliott, he needed that journey to finally be able to let go of the control and arrive in himself... That's what you need to let go, the obsession with control.

When did Elliot switch from himslef to the mastermind? The first and last lines confuse me. "Hello friend" and "Hello Elliot", one meant Elliot talking to the mastermind or a nameless personality and the last meant Elliot was back This just meant Elliot was the main character until a switch occured, somewhere.
When the show started Master Mind had already taken over for a few weeks. Darline talks about how he as already been acting weird. When the show ends, Master Mind gives up control back to Elliot. What makes it confusing is when MM takes over Elliot, he forgot basically why he was there. He had the skills and idea, but he forgot what his purpose was so he just thought he was the normal Elliot.
Mastermind probably born on the day Elliot destroyed the server room at his previous workplace, which he mentions in the flashback of Halloween with Darlene. He also appears in the same flashback when he takes on the Mr Robot jacket and the mask, but these are only his early stages. In Season 1 on the way to Steel Mountain, he falls into thr false world the made for the Host during morphine withdrawal hallucinations, seeing Agela and himself in the wedding garments same as in the last episode. Angela says that he is not Elliot, he was born about a month ago. So it must have been a few weeks or a month before the first episode, although I assume that organizing fsociety might have taken longer, and Darlene said he was already acting weird during that time, so probably he was forming during that time as well, and taken over a few weeks before the first episode.

One week ago I watched episode 1 of season 1 of Mr, Robot for the very first time. Last night I finished the last episode of season 4. I have never binge-watched anything that intensely (Breaking Bad & Dexter come close). I am almost tempted to go back to episode 1 of season 1 and binge-watch the whole thing again. I really was not expecting anything this good.
I liked this twist. Season 1 I was meh on as it was very very derivative of fight club to me, the first half of season 2 I found quite tedious with the excessive pretentious monologues and such. This twist kinda switched things up and made me interested in the show again
