"Dive into the inner workings of Direct Routing in Office 365 for Microsoft Teams and how it can co-exist with options like Microsoft Calling and Skype for Business on-prem or even interop with a legacy PABX. We will be talking Codecs, Sip Configs, Tenant Dial Plans, user policies, and regex!
Note: this is a deep session, we will have packet captures, Fiddler and PowerShell open, if you're after an overview on what Direct Routing is and how to get started, check out Matt Hurst's session on Direct Routing ""Take the Direct Route to Better Teams Implementations" Наука

This is the best content on TDR call flows so far! Thanks Man!✌
Thanks for this session!
It is most knowledgeful session I have received so far. Again Thank You Very Much!
Really exciting to find this valuable content!!
Haven't even seen it and I'll already excited 😊
I've been trying to figure out how to do this and also how to connect Teams with DIDWW.
NICE explanation
Very nice session by James Arber. Thanks
Very useful, thanks for sharing.
The first person to ever make a decent video on direct routing, I am guessing you not an MVP so you don't try to make simple things look hard :-) sorry I just saw the award on your shelf well then you one of the few exceptions
Thank you, I guess :D I'm actually an MVP! But our objective is to help the community as much as we can
Great video!
Wonderful video
Well explained 👍
I say “routing” just like you from Chicago! Great video thank you!!!
Great session. The only thing that could be more detailed is Teams Direct Routing configuration part. So what are exactly OnlinePSTNGateway, OnlinePSTNUsage, OnlineVoiceRoute, OnlineVoiceRoutingPolicy and how they relate to each other. Other than that 5/5! :)
Id say that this is possibly the most informative ive seen thus far. love the REGEX explanations and im going to check out the tools. Will also be checking in your website now
Hey, thanks. Sometimes I wonder if I bore people with stuff like this... Maybe I should make a series.
@@UCMadScientist definitely...it's not as easy to understand and it was well explained..
Great session!
One question though, how did you make use of Direct Routing? Did you acquire a Microsoft number? And where can we do that?
Any help would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Hisham
0:11 - You are an Aussie and you are COOL !!
For microsoft teams direct routing inbound calls, I am getting multiple 180 ringings from Microsoft teams side( that too with different tags) despite user is logged in at single device(no forking) ..Is there a way to restrict multiple 180 ringings to just one ?? i am expecting 180 ringing only once from microsoft teams side which is not happening.
We also use Teams with direct Routing, but we miss the PAI Field in SIP Ringing, when i call the Teams User. Someone have a solution for this? Without the PAI Field in the Ringing the Caller didnt get the Name in his Display.
You can integrate your SBC with AD, it can then do a reverse number lookup on the A Party Number and inject the PAI field appropriately.
Session was more about SIP and less about Direct routing configuration
True, unfortunately time constraints meant we couldn't go too in depth on the actual config. To be honest MOST of what you are going to be doing is vendor dependent. The MS side is quite simple and a good understanding of SIP is key to get direct routing working.
Thanks for the feedback!
if you have to remind people to be adults at the beginning of a presentation, you know you are working with IT engineers. ;)
