That clip with Moira leading the charge, can confirm that's something a silver ranked Moira HAS to do. Players in silver rarely have the game sense to know when to dive and need someone else to do it first.

I learned something really interesting watching these. On any given Jayne GMSR show,plat is a solid guess because most of his clips end up as plat. That tells me that a lot of his viewers are in fact plat. The majority of the clip here are gold or below.... That likely means that more of Eemong and Flats viewers are gold and silver. I watch both so I am in fact mid-high play one one role, low plat - gold one another, and solid gold one the last haha.
Gold/Plat would always be the best guesses since those are the most populated ranks

tbf, they all play together in queue I've gotten high silvers, low golds, and plats all in one game
not true, I have seen people who are hardstuck in high plat as dps, and they rolled through silver and gold because of their mechanics. I mean absolutely rolled, but then they get stuck in high plat because they keep playing like the opponent is silver/gold, which obviously isn't working so there has to be a skill difference.
Silver is way different than plat tbh
I could tell the mercy clip at 5:38 was plat cause a) mercy went back to healing after getting the kill on pharah and b) mercy used natural cover from the buildings. After killing pharah a silver or even gold mercy might have gotten bloodthirsty and probably flown straight through main, pistol out and ready to take names and kick ass

rule idea: people should only be allowed to submit clips from ranked play. it will make guessing SR easier and you'll be able to see more uniform patterns of behavior and eventually you'll be correctly guessing between silver/gold/plat consistently if people don't submit quick play clips.

@@absynthem1ndedplays548 Ana being oblivious is nothing new. That's what made me hate sniper Anas. All they do is snipe and stay completely blind to everything going on around them. They're so buys trying to DPS the enemy Pharah or Widow that a Hog can casually walk up to them and hook them.

@@unusualbydefault I mean, I try to counter fliers with Sigma or D.Va, unless I gotta counter stuff in the frontline, but you kinda can leave PharMercy be. Get their whole team and it's not like they can contest from up there.
@@CalciumChief I know mate, that's something I've been telling my premade guys for ages but "ignore hard pocket pharmercy" only works in specific comps and or only if the echo/phara/merci are shite. A good pharmercy just dives on the healers instead of spamming the choke and it's over. Bastion and pharmercy are a pain in the ass to deal with when playing with no-comms one trick pony randoms. Honestly, playing ana, I often end up being the only one contesting the pharmercy or even widow, even tho we have 2 flanker as dps
The wood clip had me dyinggggg, and not just the clip but Flats calling it wood 💀and being extremely wrong was the cherry on top
There is a reason gmsr is popular and fun and there also is a reason jayne was a GOD in it. if you actually try to explain what people are doing in the clips BEFORE you jump to conclusions, you would be way more accurate in the guessing.

We've written so many times on the lack of skill differentiation / ranked integrity in Overwatch, this is really funny proof of the concept. They should just flatten into 3 ranks of bad / not so bad / good and be done with it.

You should also remember that it’s easy to spot a bronze/ silver player because as soon as someone presses Q, they all press Q. It’s another one of their pacts

if you guys pay attention to the Anas on the vods you can guess the rank easier; anas that take highground, are not into their rains assess are probably plat or higher. Anas that die under the tanks arm are gold or below.
Well when I play ana I be standing in narnia and I'm silver cuz of unfortunate events I usually get 17k+ heal and like 17 sleeps

if the enemy team is running flankers then often ana will play close to the tanks so they can peel easily

The clue that the silver Rein on the bridge in Lijiang was silver was actually the Ana nano-ing him after the shatter and after most of the kills. Tooootal silver move.
the key to guess your SR is to judge off the gameplay of the OTHER players. The submitter is showing a play where they're playing out of their mind, but the other players are a more accurate reflection of their SR.
That mercy play is what back in the day would fall as emongg on his poll 😂

Nah, there's plenty of people who probably have the mechanical skill to be a higher rank, but don't bother actually grinding ranked, cause they don't find it fun.

To be fair, I think I would be either high gold or low plat if I played more comp. I've been playing pc for a couple of months so I'm still not super comfortable on it, but seeing my clip on here was pretty cool :)

The soldier flank was quickplay. Soldier with window flank when team isn’t there would be bronze but this was just quickplay (there were multiple quickplay)

I actually disagree! I can totally understand feeling this way, and maybe it has to do with what roles/heroes you play the most. for example, I play support and I'm the most comfortable playing Mercy, so I feel very confident about watching support and Mercy potgs and guessing their SR because I know my people lol. but with DPS and tank, my guess is always gold or plat because I have no idea lol
tbh, when I'm watching these clips, the only times I feel confident about my guess and get it right is when I'm paying attention to what the rest of the person's team is doing/what the enemy team is doing lol
The reason the last one was min diamond was cause of the target selection, most plats and below wouldnhave continued to shoot that zarya

Yes. Having 300+ hours on Mercy I can roughly tell the rank by the steadiness of their sens and accuracy, if you want to climb at all w Mercy you need to know how to aim. Thats not super impressive. Game sense is #1 though a mercy player even in plat has to have high awareness and quick decision making. A mercy above plat will have less fun clips because she shouldn't have to pop off big time with pistol if her team is diamond lmao, it would be a clip of good beam usage and kiting/playing around corners
If a Mercy has shaky aim and any hesitation, 1000% gold or below. Steady aim and decisive? Plat or higher 🤣
