The lance is a real bulwark! I have a lot of respect for the boldness most lancers display, and it's interesting how you define the shield as a tool for aggression and control, rather than simple protection. It's a mistake many newbie hunters commit with their mindset, I'm sure (me too, back then). While the Gunlance has a wide toolset, it seems to me the lance overall is simpler to grasp, but more consistent as a tradeoff, which enhances the overall feeling of safety the weapon confers.
Thank u for the video, I used to play with Greatsword, but wanted to use something more complex. I found what I was looking for in Lance, and it's cool seeing this to be sure that I'm playing "right" with it!
Yeah! This is how I *think* they wanted the weapon to be used, how it makes sense to me at least :P Thanks for watching! 😄 I hope you have fun with it.
Thank you! lol yeah, my style is *very* straight to the point. Also, haha, point, lance, haha, nice. I try to get to the content as fast as possible, because I dislike when some videos take too long to get there lol, I joke about it sometimes in my streams, those videos that say "And now without any further ado, let's get right into the video" lol I'd rather just start my video *there* :P Thanks for watching! 😄
Lance... the kind of weapon that either make you die several times to a monster when you don't understand how it works, or break your clear time record when using properly. Not my favorite, but a solid choice nonetheless.
Yeah they give you that as a freebie, I don't really recommend using auto block, it's one of those skills that aren't terribly necessary, and you shouldn't get used to using, but if you want to give lance a try and think it would help, it probably wouldn't hurt too much, as you get used to the weapon. Armor skills are very valuable, so, which ones you pick and bring to a hunt should be carefully selected, you know? But yeah, lance is a great weapon for monsters that are fast and aggressive, like Tigrex.
@@HeadHunter455 It's very useful to me and it saved me a lot of times, I often forget to block because sometime I thought I was using hunting horn. I'm doing gunlance now, I really like the pokey-pokey mechanics similar to lance and I like the punish moves on gunlance when the boss is incapacitated or down.
Honestly, I'm not sure >.< I'm not a lance main unfortunately, and off the top of my head I don't really know how the counter works specifically, besides, you know, countering.
Hey, a month later, I found out! 😁😁 When you counter an attack and don't hold the analog stick any direction, you'll do it upwards, if you hold forward then you'll do it lower. I learned this on accident in MHWorld and went and tested it in p3rd and that's how it works! So, when countering an attack (won't work when not being hit) No analog movement: Upward poke Analog movement forward: Normal poke.
I totally get that, it took me a long time to get better with it, and I'm still not amazing with it lol Just stick with it!! You'll get it eventually, take breaks if you need them, use other weapons in the meantime. Good luck! 🙂
It was even harder on the first games since you don't have counter and shield charge. Like you have to practice alot on positioning and iframing for optimal play.
That feeling when you defeat a monster charging at you by doing the same is really satisfying
Ooh, that sounds pretty cool 😄
Tactical pencil
With a fucking pencil.

I got auto block talisman when I cleared the level 2 village quest .. I'm considering on using lance, a 2nd option for my hunting horn.

Can u please do a range weapon next? Because i really want to test out the range weapons but don't really understand how they work and tricks to pull
Yeah, I'll be covering all of the weapons eventually, I've just been having a lot of trouble getting around to making them lately unfortunately.

No problem, I recommend it! 😄

At the start of the video you did a low counter vs tigex. How did you do that?

@@HeadHunter455 That doesn't work for me. I think it actually has something to do with knockback amount and guard+1.
