Pirate skull was part of the original signage of Treasure Island (on the Strip) when it first opened in the '90s
9:28 Lido de Paris was the main show at the Stardust - topless showgirls
That new music playing during those pictures you took was so snazzy and awesome!!
Hes used it before for drone footage but i agree it does sound good
Indeed! I think it was made by the people listed in his description, I think it’s an extension to his intro music !
We got to go there in late 2019. And both of us being huge Tim Burton fans were very lucky they were running a special exhibition of his art in the museum. Which might explain the Beetlejuice sign
This is true. They had a Burton exhibit with some of the props from past movies.
@@RazorRoman Is that a prop?
A lot of the Tim Burton related props and signs are from his exhibit at the museum in 2019, "Lost Vegas'! I love the Neon Museum, I'm so glad you visited!
Old school signs 😎 and catchy music
The lamps are from The Aladin, the huge skull is from when Treasure Island was really pirate themed. Those "coins" are from The Fitzgerald's.
This place is so cool, 10000 times cooler at night though for sure. They also offer sweet tours telling the stories of all the signs.
Cincinnati OH also has a neon museum that is top notch! Thanks for the tour ‘Bagger
We went their last summer at night; saw the light show and took the guided tour ... it was amazing !!! So much history behind those signs. As a graphic designer I was in love ❤️
Good afternoon Jacob,a new day, a new adventure. What great sculptures, which are worth to be in a museum. I think we have to remember to all the people who have build these great signs, the electricians who have build the circuits, and also not the people who have maintened the lightbulbs. That's a real part of the US history.Only one word:"Amazing".🇺🇸👍Greatings from 🇩🇪
Love Neon signs, they are certainly what makes Vegas unique... The jazzy version of the Carpetbagger theme song was so clever😃 Thanks Jacob 🌟
It's really cool that some of the signs still light up. Neon still looks cool at night!
Thank you for sharing the stills from the neon museum. Very, very nice! This is probably my favorite video from Vegas to date! 💗
Dear Jacob, thanks for keeping us with you daily. Don't know how you can make so many wonderful virtual bringing us along videos over and over every day! Kudos!
The F coins came from Fitzgerald's. Way cool at night! Lots of new things and expanded a lot. The entrance building was in the process of rehab when we went there a few years ago.
I love the neon museum. I met Tim Burton there during a book signing 🖤 He had an exhibit there called Lost Vegas as well.
Thank u so much for going here! Always wanted to see this place. Bravo
This place is awesome, my parents and grandparents remember some of these being on buildings
OMG I remember all these. lived in vegas 43 years. Loved every minute. Gotta visit this whe I go visit my kids this summer.
Thank you so much. The neon museum is fantastic. Just awesome. And Brilliant is a real and unexpected treat. You have made my day! Thank you.
I went there in 2019/20 with Family, this place is amazing. Went there at night and the show was insane.
It’s on my bucket list to come here !
JC!! That was another great one... I worked in Vegas in the 80's at the Sahara... so seeing that sign was pretty cool. There were a bunch that were actually on their buildings working, the last time I saw them! Like the Fitzgerald coins... that was a very brash and fun sign... lots of movement. Also, the Stardust was there when I was there... torn down now. They had one of the BEST signs... all those weirdo diamond kind of sparkle shapes were from the Stardust... super duper glittery. The Stardust had vertical neon tubes about 10 or 12 feet tall along the second level of the front strip facing building. Blue and pink and hundreds of them chasing across the ENTIRE FACADE of the building. So excellent. Thanks man!!
Hi Jacob awesome vlog at the neon sign bone yard. I like the vintage neon signs. Stay well and safe 👍🏻😺
I grew up at the Barbary Coast. I watched Robbie Knievel jump Caesar palace fountains from the top of the Barbary Coast and even got on the local news. It was Awesome!
Love the jazzy music. If i ever go to vegas, i will go there.
I wish we could have seen the night show live, I bet there was a lot of sparkling going on 🤩
Great job, very enjoyable video, at full screen it's a treat for the eyes. I love the night images, glad to see so many signs lit up. I would be pleased to donate to a fund to get more of the lights back in working order.
Enjoyed this immensely!
Absolutely adore the Neon Museum. I was fortunate enough to visit while Tim Burton’s whole exhibition was there. It really comes alive at night.
This place is one of our favorite Vegas stops. We recommend the evening tours.
A great video once again Jacob, love the history behind the signs thanks for sharing.
Carpetbagger another great video with awesome content and you had me reminiscing about some of the old hotel casinos I stayed at in my 20’s! Another home run keep up the great work!
Remember most of those signs from the late 80s , (before Vega's "modernization"), turned 21 and went frequently. Didn't expect to see the signs would still light up. Thanks Jacob.
The duck is from ugly duckling car sales ,and the yucca sign is from the yucca motel that's was near the stratosphere hotel
I'm very grateful that they kept those beautiful signs instead of throwing them away and allowing people to come and view Las Vegas history but I wish that they had a bigger area where we could see all the signs. It's a little hard to see the ones that are in the back behind other signs.
OH MAN‼️ Sooo jealous, I've always wanted to go here‼️😃 THANX Carpetbagger for the cool video 👍
Thanks for posting. I enjoy watching your videos because you are the real deal. In such a plastic world, it's nice seeing someone real.
Loved my visit there. Need to go back at night.
That place looks like a blast from the past.
Thank you Carpetbagger for taking me there with you- I always wanted to go there
If you ever make it to Livermore, CA we happen to have the world’s oldest continuous burning lightbulb. It is in one of our fire stations. We also have the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (there is a visitor center) a ton of wineries and the windmills on the Altamont Pass. Worth spending a day if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, in my opinion anyways. Thanks again for your videos.
Dude! Kudos for this! So many memories! Thought some of that stuff was still in production until I saw it here!
The Yucca Motel was somewhere on south Las Vegas Blvd next to a wedding chapel. It opened in 1950 and was demolished in 2010.
The music with the still pics is awesome!!! Thanks, Jake.
This place has been on my bucket list for years!
That is amazing. Did not realize so many still worked when you walked through in the daytime. That is so interesting. Amazing . Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
There's a sign from a Holiday Inn from Las Vegas at the Cincinnati Sign Museum in Cincinnati, OH.
Ive been meaning to go there
An awesome stroll through Vegas history. I want to go here.
You have wonderful adventures I have always wanted to go there .
This is really cool Jacob. The signs are so much bigger on the ground than they are when they're hanging up. I remember seeing the Hard Rock sign before.
thanks for another, ah, Lit, vlog.......great memorable signs....the "Ya-Kah" sign is a cactus, and the "pineapple" is actually the flower of the Yucca elota cactus.....(desert person...couldn't resist)....You do wonderful work, and discovery!
All cool signs, cool place .
Great video .
You did great on this one 👍👍👍 .
I went there a few years ago at night when its all lit up. There are many cool pieces, the skull is from the old treasure island, when they were trying to attract families as you said in previous videos. The best way to see it is to use Google maps!
Carpetbagger, I miss You out in Vegas.
Flying out from Orlando for two days to go to meow wolf.,wish I was doing more.but there is no reason to make videos of anything else because u did such a great job on your trip.loved this video..super job
Love the muzak version of the opening tune.
Jacob! Simply put .... A GREAT VIDEO!! As many times as i have been to Vegas, i have never taken the time to go and see this... so thanks for the look at what is going on there now and a well-covered video overall!! I would definitely consider doing the day/night thing as its a cool look at the way the signs look lit up. Keep up the great work and taking us to all these fun places... ALWAYS enjoy ALL of your videos!! Stay Safe, my friend! Your friend in Chicago, Jeff G
I recommend you look up a song that Marc Almond and Gene Pitney did in 1989 called Something's Gotten Hold of my Heart. The music video for that was shot in the Vegas area and that Stardust sign is seen lighting up at the end
Awesome bunch of neon signs...🤘🏼 I collect neon signs myself...💯✔ So I'd love to visit a place such as this...❤
Enjoyed much. Made me think of Vegas Vacation, the girls were hanging out on old casino signs.
Awesome thanks. Hope to see them soon. Peace
Okay, the thing about Vegas weddings. Nevada has one of the least restricted marriage laws. People would go there and get married without having to have blood tests or a license. It was also popular if family didn't approve
The Tam-O-Shatner was located on the strip across from treasure island, its sign included a giant rotating tam (Scottish hat) We stayed there in the mid 90s and they still had vibrating beds! lol
The Beetlejuice sign was actually put in there by Tim Burton himself, as well as the Lost Vegas sign.
He says that in the end of the video. Somebody cut out early??
@@jaks5338 no, I just commented as he was talking about it.

This place reminds me of the sign museum soooo much
Very cool!! I love neon stuff!
Those gold coins with the shamrocks were from the old Fitzgeralds. I see they also have the main Fitzgeralds sign there. I believe that casino still exists, but under a new name. I also saw the old sign from "Terribles" in the light show area.
Some outstanding signs there.
This was great ! Bring back great memories ! Love it !
Thanks Jacob! Neon is my occupation!!!
My favorite sign has to be the duck or pool hustler sign they were all so cool though amazing place
That’s one funky fresh beat
The Riviera Sign was cool. The Genie Lamp might be from the Aladdin Hotel that is now Planet Hollywood
You got some great still shots nice job brother
Hi carpetbagger I am really enjoying all you're videos yu did on you're traveling yu did amazing videos
Lantern from the Aladdin, skull from the pirate ship at TI (Treasure Island). Looks like we'll be revisiting this place too in the fall? Glad you got to visit there!
The Beetlejuice sign was left from the Tim Burton exhibition that was there last year, it was amazing
Stuff I'm old enough to remember: The camel sign from the Sahara, the stars from the Stardust, the front of the Riviera, the gold Aladdin lamp that would spin around, The signature sign from the Liberace museum, AND the Silver Slipper from the Silver Slipper Saloon. ( I was really little and remember watching the lights on the white slipper spin around while standing in a parking lot waiting for my parents to stop talking to someone.) Do they still have the original shoe? I know there's a replica outside on the streets around Fremont. So very cool. I'm glad more people can go there now.
I do believe they show part of the neon boneyard in the movie Step up: All in. It was great to see more of it. I've been interested in where in Vegas they were after I watched the movie. I have always enjoyed looking at pieces of History.
Love your videos❤️❤️ Kisses from Belgium ❣️❣️
Thank you so much for this video. Awesome!
Was hoping for a drone's-eye shot of the giant skull! Great tour anyway, neon signage is one of my favorite midcentury artifacts.
I love this place!
Great place! Makes me want to watch the movie Casino again...
Amazing. Thank you for the sharing
The yucca sign has a yucca shrub on it. They grow in desert areas.
Ooo I definitely want carpetbagger to check out Jackson street
Love the neon museum
Love the Liberace sign!
I would say the skull is from Treasure Island Casino. Also in National Lampoons Vegas Vacation. They have a scene with this museum in it
Its amazing to see but also very sad at the same time.
Thanks
Very enjoyable.
Till this day, despite the pandemic and the virus, he is still traveling, how extraordinary
This place is awesome! Glad they try to save these things. Any reason why they are that way with their filming though?
The magic lamp was likely from the Aladdin hotel/casino. It was torn down, rebuilt, then renamed Planet Hollywood. The Hard Rock cafe still exists in Vegas -- the sign is from the old location by the former Hard Rock Hotel. The current cafe is on the strip.
That mustached guy with the black hat and red vest is the Terrible Herbst mascot.
P.S. When it really was just a boneyard, they were over on Flamingo, around where the Palms is now, and I used walk around through some of the really old signs for free...
Bindle? The hobo bag on a stick is called a bindle? !!
Yep, and hobos were also known as Bindle Stiffs.
Yes
@@captainsteve3050 Thank you for this obscure tidbit.
The giant skull is from Treasure Island Casino, love the Vintage Signage
You should try to go to enchanted forest water safari in upstate New York some time once they open up I think itd be right up your alley there’s a lot of rides but there’s also some cool building and a fairytale part of the park that has been there before they even had real rides i grew up going and I think you’d like it
The Chief Hotel Court opened in 1940 and closed in 1989. It was demolished sometime in the 1990s.
