Some weapons are a little better than others. Some weapons might have problems-bad code with Brellas or the Ultra Stamp, for instance. But map knowledge and situational awareness can make any weapon much better. This is what the pros work hardest to develop, I think.
very excited to pick this weapon up, i've found myself picking up anchor weapons like explo and .96, but just playing into their skirmishing power a lot more recently, and rapid pro totally fits this style
Dude comin' at us with another BANGER thumbnail. Great video! I enjoy using this blaster way more than I thought, it's just so much fun, especially with Intensity Action!
I also feel the Blobblobber is a underrated weapon. Sleeper weapon. This weaponnal absolutely a top tier support weapon, especially in splat zones. Im on a 16 game winning streak in anarchy
Rapid Pro has always been a weapon I've wanted to use and dedicate myself to, even in the previous two games. It's been perpetually difficult as just a casual player though with no competitive experience and no partners to actively communicate; i could never truly learn or understand the implied role and positioning the Rapid Pro needed to take in order to maximize it's utility... Which is especially weird because i find myself playing backline a lot, which is where I figured Rapid Pro would at least settle into... But i'm usually incorrect about that in most cases. In other words: I think your videos are great! This video in particular speaks to me in both informing me of what i *could* be doing with Rapid Pro, and still appealing to my casual nature!
Really try to stay safe as a backline and go for chip damage and easy picks when they show up. Sometimes games are unwinnable due to teammates or skill issue, and your only safe area will before mid and those are really painful matches because you feel like your not doing enough to push back the enemy and retake field, maybe your not, but also overly aggressive play will punish you the most at that time because you'll be a spawn loop the whole game; just continue backlining and supporting your floundering, pathetic teammates the best you can. If you're good enough you can carry at least one player and maybe someone else on the team will get it together or pop off and you'll win last second; but if you're stuck in a spawn loop you're probably doomed. Mindset advice: know when you did good and when your team did bad I mention this because I really related to not understanding positioning but it's gotten better lately in part because of vids like this. If you've never taken time to practice at the moving targets in the Sheldon shooting range or from the equipment menu "Test: Y" Range give it a go for at least 15 minutes, it really helped me get used to aiming and how ink travels.
Great Thread. Yeah, I seemed to be "matched up", when playing with this weapon, with snipers or other slow weapons. And teammates who just want to get to the middle and fight. Don't paint anything at all....so I feel the pain in this thread.
I personally think its ink efficiency should be buffed from 8% to 7.5%, maybe 7%. I find it common to run out of ink a ton, especially after using one toxic mist.
Every time i watch your content i can feel myself growing stronger every minute by observing your immense skill and tactical prowess >:D So yeah great videos dude 👌🏽👌🏽
rapid pro is super underrated people just pass it off as bad because it has mist but no people dont understand how good this thing is and mist just makes it better
rapid has always been a great weapon that everyone forgets about, people complain about clash a lot but i feel that rapid is more annoying to deal with and easy to use, but everyone forgets it exists
I think people mainly complain about clash cause it's the easiest blaster to pick up so it's seen the most in average play. This blaster though is a threat. Whenever I see it I know I'm in for a fight when I can usually bully clash blaster users
Clash is a joke in upper ranks. It's only a menace up to S. You will get shredded in random match comps with that thing, especially with how fast rapid blasters are with twice the range.
I also want to try this weapon too, because of this video. (I also used the Goo Tuber, I really like it a lot, thanks for getting me interested in the weapons that I wouldn’t of picked up!)
Rapid Pro Deco main from 2 here. I was overjoyed to see this weapon get Ink-Vac in the demo. Finally something to get people around you off your ass. Also they buffed the accuracy it seems with all the blasters so they’re realty strong now
Been meaning to try blasters but was nervous considering how they work. But after watching this I feel more confident giving them a try, and starting out by using this first.
since splatoon 1 i have never been able to say "rapid blaster" without saying it in your accent and i can't tell you why, it's just forever in my brain
I'm comfortable using this blaster over any other one. I like having some extra range. And even though I have to sacrifice the one-shot potential, it's worth it since I can now able to poke at opponents. I think Toxic Mist synergizes really well since you can slow down enemies to hit directs more easily
I can't wait for the next tearing it up video in splatoon 3, its going to be so good, I wonder what the first weapon will be splatershot pro again, probably is
People underestimate toxic mist since it doesn't splat and new player underestimate the usefulness of the range because beginner match making is short ranged biased, and it requires good positioning and aim. So new players pick it, play a round, can't aim so they get no picks close or far, can't position so they always die trying, and don't understand toxic mist and run out of ink quickly. Although ink vac is great for anchoring; new players don't do that, so even if manage to use it they'll probably get shot from the side or back from being overly aggressive and think it sucks.
@@uponeric36 teach me about toxic mist. 😅 Even friend who is getting game with me says its a useless and total trash ability. Avoid it if I can since it will be my first splatoons.
@@micdonallls8853 Toxic mist isn't useless or trash, it's really useful on the right weapon and in this game two of the weapons which have it get tons of use out of it (stringer and rapid pro)
splatoon 3 is my first splatoon game so i'm still going through the process of trying to figure out what weapon fits my playstyle best. loving backline and support so rapid pro definitely feels like the best of both worlds
This is the same playstyle I do for the most part although I do main Jet Squelcher mostly. Jet, Rapid Pro and maybe Hydra Splatling will suit you well.
Blasters are only good if you can hit your directs and win close range fights. I can not do those with blasters because their shots are slower than anything I’m used to. I use chargers so much that I’ve gotten used to the shots traveling at the speed of light. Charger mains are sure impressive but blaster mains are even crazier cause they get used to how the shots work and it takes forever to do that.
@@magefox_ Fair. However the game also does its best to match you with people of your power. Now that the game has been out for a few weeks Open has been significantly safer. Only time it seems to struggle with matching is when I'm playing with friends. Plus the score loss from losing in Open is so insignificant you'd need over a good 50 losses in a row to undo a single Series win. I get it if you don't want to risk any losses but you should give it a shot if you haven't in awhile. Solo queue for it is significantly more mellow than Series imo
I love all the new Splatoon 3 videos can’t wait for the next. Also I was wondering dude are you gonna take a look on video or stream at all the new weapons and stages when the new update comes out?
Dude I watched you when I was just getting into 2 and you changed my whole play style for the better. I wanna ask if youd make a video about the major differences between the last two entries and how the play style is different. And am I crazy but is swim speed just plain faster? Also the ink trails seem more emphasized…
The Rapid Blaster Pro was one of the weapons I bought using a gold license. I heard that it was really good and since I had experience using the Kensa Rapid Blaster back in 2 I thought I'd give it a try! It doesn't really do much in Turf War besides killing as you'd imagine, but I've been having success using it in Tower Control, especially with that Ink Vac! The most important tip I'd give may seem obvious, but take advantage of that long range. Especially since if your enemy reaches within arms' length of you, you're pretty much done! Also am I the only one who tries to fire the Ink Vac before it finishes charging? Wonder if they could add the ability to do so if it doesn't make it too good.
if you hit a direct with any rapid blaster then a shot that hits the ground or a wall in blast radius, it does 102.5 damage. good combo potential! 85(direct)+17.5(grounded shot)=102.5
if mist got a buff like bumping its ink cost down to 50% like the disruptor, i'd definitely see myself using my sub way more often when going rapid pro. i find its too ink hungry for what it does, which especially sucks with how much of a guzzler blasters already are.
Okay as someone who found the rapid blaster and was like “Yes please!” Can anyone recommend what kind of gear I should look into? I’m not entirely sure how the dulling down works for certain “skills” though I have heard for blasters two mains of Intensify Action is good…
I feel like vaccum was the straw that broke the camels back for me because in 1 and 2 I used it for fun because I wasn’t that obsessed wit their kits but this game I used it all the way to S+
The area denial is obviously great, but it's super ink hungry. Even in these clips where you're wiping whole teams, you're almost always completely out of ink by the end of the clip. If you miss a shot or try to get ink coverage when someone happens to be in range, most players will be up Splat's creek without a paddle
He's got to have like an 80% hit rate with those directs Jesus christ. This was my favorite weapon in splatoon 2 and man was I excited to see it come back in this game. The yellow tip looks goofy af though.

I found this weapon after I got my butt kicked by the regular rapid blaster and now I main both this and the Rapid Pro. Need to get better as a player, but when I do good with them boy do I feel lol
While this is indeed a great weapon, just remember that Dude is making it look like it's super easy to use, while landing directs consistently at short range is actually pretty hard, so don't get discouraged when you pick it up and practice!
The clash blaster is good at low level play because it requires no aiming, but at any decent level of play, it's trash because it has a terrible kill time and 2HKOs with directs. At low level, you'll probably shred with it because new players dont know how to deal with it, but once you get to S rank and higher (hell, even A rank can probably deal with it) you'll get obliterated
You can always give it a shot. I'll play heavy or hydra and sometimes have a charger on the team and it works really well. If I'm heavy I'll play slightly more aggressive than the charger but hydra I'll still play more defensive, especially if the charger is a squiffer.
