FYI, the official USB-C to HDMI adapter that comes with this unit that CRKD sells actually has HDCP protection on it. So if you want to use a capture card, you’re gonna have to disable HDCP detection or use a different adapter. The J5 Adapter I use with my steam deck seems to work fine. It just takes a little longer for the unit to detect that it is in docked mode.
I use the JCA399 model. The one that has HDMI, a USB port, and a C Power Supply port. www.walmart.com/ip/5103911031 But they SHOULD all work the same as my test with the JCA was only using the HDMI port.
It’s meant to be played with shooter games (first-person, third-person, top down twin-sticks). One where you can’t take your thumbs off the sticks at all, always have to be moving and aiming. All of the extra buttons on the back are for the face buttons (reload, jump, crouch, etc). Doesn’t make much sense to be playing with it on any other games, imo. You have to, like, rewire your brain to use it on other games lol
8:20 in, and i was NOT expecting such an innovative button layout. That is fascinating. After using it for a while, how does it feel? I had no idea this product existed, but that button layout is REALLY speaking to me.
So far it feels good though hitting the Plus/Start button is a little weird with the right stick so close to it. But I’ve barely used it today outside of just this recording.
5:12 forgive me for the unsolicited commentary. The Nitrodeck Plus is available in transparent white or transparent black. @CRKDGG stated they don’t have plans to create the unit in any other color ways. Was really hoping for Crystal Purple.

It does. It takes a few more seconds to recognize the HDMI, but it Displays on my Monitor fine with the J5.
