He mentioned in other WIPs of this fight that this is based on his What If series where the original Enterprise was salvaged from Genesis.

Much improved! I personally never liked ILMs work of the Enterprise specifically in ST6.

I love this what if series with the 1701 Enterprise. You should do the same with the Enterprise D in the next gen series.
