Dang those onions. A look into the future (how this episode will pan out) while remembering a much happier past. This IS Star Trek. Thank you Hike Animation for keeping it alive.
Did I hear that audio correctly?! Deleted scene dialog related to Sulu and the Excelsior!? Explains why he was hoping on Excelsior in IV, it was the ship he was going to become Captain of in a few years time. Can't wait to see more of this project. The Refit Enterprise is a ship I never get tired of staring at. She's simple but elegant.
It makes sense, Sulu was settling for the Excelsior. When Spock died, command of the Enterprise opened up. Sulu was still listed as the First officer of the Enterprise. Command of the Enterprise will formally fall to Sulu. But Starfleet Command didn't let it out that their intention was to decommision the Enterprise, Sulu had already passed up the Excelsior Command when he found out.
Yes it was in novel and in Star Trek III (novel) there was a passage where Uhura was jamming the Excelsior's comms after it sputtered out trying the chase the Enterprise. Words to the effect talking about Captain Styles you can sit and wait how dare you steal Sulu's command.
This is a masterful artwork. A labor of love!! 🤩 I guess it's not an easy task to create, generate images, render, light it all up, then put music, dialogs - and in THIS case, a never included, interesting dialog...!! It's like coming home, to a lovely memory of the past...!! The best time of Star Trek...!!!And I love it all too...!! 😍 Thank you and congratulations. Always wanting and waiting to see more...!!! 🥰
This was awesome. Thank you for putting in the missing conversation about Sulu’s promotion to Captain of the Excelsior. It brings back a lot of great memories. Looking forward to to the next video!
Fantastic 🖖 two things... finally got to hear & see that missing dialog from Sulu put back into the scene I always hated the way it was sloppily edited out of wrath of Khan & the proper space dock instead of that reused footage from Star Trek the motion picture 👍in Star Trek 3 the different space dock just popped out of nowhere.. now it makes sense 👍
Wondering: From the original footage, compared to your reconstruction, there are some hatch controls, lights and windows removed. Why? Original footage (ruclips.net/video/GMQTzYp756o/видео.html ) compared to yours (ruclips.net/video/A2MCxyswqRY/видео.html ).
@@daviddennis2803 D'oh! Rookie mistake on my part and thank you for correcting me. I don't know how many times I have seen ST:TWOK and I still made that mistake. Can I blame... KHAAAAAAAAAN? LLAP.
DAMN! That was great to hear the additional dialogue. It would had been better hearing that Sulu would get his promotion to Captain and be the Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Excelsior. Its too bad there has been too much animosity between William Shatner and George Takei.
That's awesome!!! Great animation and it's really nice that Sulu's promotion to Captain is acknowledge! The whole sequence should have been cut from the start. Never should have been edited out.
My friend audio recorded the work print at UCLA and put audio of about 18 deleted scenes on the internet on various websites. I never thought that the deleted audio would be put to such good use.
Missing DIALOG!!! WooHoo!! That's what I'm talkin about! I've wanted to see/hear that for a long time... Christmas came early this year, or was a little late in arriving for last year - I don't care! Let's see the rest of it! Keep it up! Be safe! LLAP! 🖖🏽😎
Great video this is how STII should have been. One problem however the Reliant was already in orbit of Ceti Alpha V before Kirk boarded the Enterprise.
Great vid, especially love the inclusion of the long missing shuttlecraft dialog. Always wondered why Sulu addressed McCoy as "sir" though, given they're both the same rank at this point.
I wish they would kept that part of the dialogue of hearing Sulu's promotion of being captain of the Excelsior in Star Trek II while in the shuttle pod going into the Enterprise.
Great animation, and nice working in of deleted dialogue. I had read that George Takei was actually unhappy with how Shatner was supposedly treating the scene, with little to no enthusiasm for Sulu's future command. (and after repeated takes at Takei's request, the scene was found to be running up time and budget, so it was dropped) I can now listen to this scene and confirm that Takei was once again playing professional victim.
The audio comes from the UCLA workprint which Paramount donated back in 1982. Somebody recorded it along about 18 other deleted scenes and they have been floating around the internet for the past six or seven years. Thank you to that gosh darn hero
Yes, the full dialogue in the shuttle was cut in the editing room. But it still exists as audio. It's very interesting that in TWOK it was already clear that Sulu would take over the command of the Excelsior.
Wow, 41 years later I finally get to hear the missing dialog from the ST2 shuttlepod scene!
Never knew it existed! I would love to have it in the actual movie!
Dang those onions. A look into the future (how this episode will pan out) while remembering a much happier past. This IS Star Trek. Thank you Hike Animation for keeping it alive.
Exactly.
Thank you for making sure that Sulu's original dialogue was included in your version.. George Takei deserved that respect he never got from Paramount.

Origional Series Enterprise is like a 1960s Cadillac, Enterprise Refit is like a hot rod upgrade. Both are fun.
we didnt see the excelsior till s3 so how would he be getting a command in st2?
The (non-canon) novelisation of ST3 also explains why Sulu didn't get the Excelsior afterall.

Wow! It’s like a missing piece of the puzzle was put in place After all these years.
WOW!! That was GREAT!! Visuals, extra dialog, and a continuous story can't wait!! EXCELLENT!!🌟🌟🌟🌟❤😁❗
This is a masterful artwork. A labor of love!! 🤩

Beautiful and the added dialog fits in perfectly.
Filling In The Missing Pieces of The Star Trek Universe. Wonderful & Masterful Work, Sir. Live Long & Prosper.
Glad you included the missing dialogue from this shuttlepod scene
This was awesome. Thank you for putting in the missing conversation about Sulu’s promotion to Captain of the Excelsior. It brings back a lot of great memories. Looking forward to to the next video!
Nice! Thank you for sharing and #Happy2023!

Thank you and for adding the Sulu commander-related dialogue that was cut from ST:TMP.

The added dialog comes from Star Trek 2 itself not from the first movie. From the work print at UCLA of Wrath of Khan

Wow, that’s just amazing. Really wonderful work
I never tire of gazing at the Enterprise
wonderful work
keep it up
BRAVO!!! Thank you for fixing a glaring hole in STII!
Nicely done adding in Sulu's deleted scene!
My friend audio recorded the work print at UCLA and put audio of about 18 deleted scenes on the internet on various websites. I never thought that the deleted audio would be put to such good use.

I just hope that George has seen this it would make him very happy
Great video this is how STII should have been. One problem however the Reliant was already in orbit of Ceti Alpha V before Kirk boarded the Enterprise.
Looks great!
Good job! Only thing is, the Reliant was not at Earth at this time. Nitpicking here.
Great vid, especially love the inclusion of the long missing shuttlecraft dialog. Always wondered why Sulu addressed McCoy as "sir" though, given they're both the same rank at this point.
This is going to be brilliant as always 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That added dialogue. . .
Marvelous…. As always! Well done!🖖🏼

Very cool indeed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Impressive

Beautiful work!
Beautifully made. Was that the reliant I spotted flying by the camera ? Sure did look like it said reliant and the registration number
Grreat work 🙂
👍😍
Great work again, and you tease 😉
OK! I'll wait!...
Amazing stuff! Where did the actual audio from the missing dialogue come from? Was it on a record or something?
The audio comes from the UCLA workprint which Paramount donated back in 1982. Somebody recorded it along about 18 other deleted scenes and they have been floating around the internet for the past six or seven years. Thank you to that gosh darn hero
Nice! Adding the missing dialog and all.
🖖😎👍
Weren't some of those lines out of the novelization?
Yes, the full dialogue in the shuttle was cut in the editing room. But it still exists as audio. It's very interesting that in TWOK it was already clear that Sulu would take over the command of the Excelsior.
@HIKE ANIMATION I'm very impressed with it,beautiful work,I wish the lines were in the movie.
Lastima q no tienen aunque sea sud títulos para los latinos Español
Too much cgi, the original movies mastered the grainy film FX
