    Can you show how to repair a section of rotten wood on exterior trim? Window or door frame, etc. Thanks, I enjoy your videos!

    Hey bud, Thank you for taking my suggestion from your previous video to make this video. The fascia I used on my deck is exactly like the one you have except it's PVC. Again thank you!

    Question: Do you suggest applying primer as the last step? At the end of the video, it looks like you painted some primer over the nail after sanding the wood filler.

    We built out semi custom home in 2005 and it has that cedar 5 1/2 grained wood trim between the window and J channel and around the edges of the front house as an accet I assume however on a vinyl sided home with vinyl windows, I absolutely cannot stand it. Between splitting allowing water infiltration, recaulking and repainting, it is the polar opposite of the rest of the homes maintenance free products. I now want to remove it all and bring added siding to bring the J channels to the windows or not as good would be to replace with a PVC trim but that will still need caulking.

    Good tips but i just used masterseal on an awning and put a shit ton of it and it definitely shrinked. Im in winter new york so maybe the 20 degree weather did it. I had about half of what i originally put on after a week.

      It’s a product you can only get in Canada, as far as I know called dynapatch. It’s great.

    Is this for aesthetics or water proofing? I need to waterproof my house. There is water leaking in.

    • @TheFunnyCarpenter

      NP1 is a good product for waterproofing in my opinion.

    Nice work! I use the same methods, but either Quad or Polyurethane caulking, they don't shrink and are paintable. Sorry to bring this up, but that house does not have the 8" clearance (8" in Canada, 6" in the US) from siding to grade, thereby allowing bug and moisture infiltration.

    Anyone in Canada / B.C. know of an alternative to this that works just as well....and can be purchased by an average homeowner locally? This product is difficult to source here. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheFunnyCarpenter
      @TheFunnyCarpenter  Год назад +1

      That’s where I’m from. You can find NP1 at most contractor building supply places.
