    After playing this myself, it was hard to come up with a good way to convey any sort of feeling from Chopin himself... until I read the title of the piece: "Wrong Key." I used the same feelings I used for my performance of Beethoven's "Pathetique," and used that as a base for this song. If you aren't playing for competition, and simply for exhibition, try playing it as if you're playing the entire thing wrong, and it sounds... AMAZING.

    • @Exelitious
      @Exelitious 9 лет назад

      well, i think the wrong notes are a confusion of sorts and the singing part is the clear explenation to something that chopin might have been confused about. Still i absolutely love every aspect of this piece

    • @romenklaassen2560
      @romenklaassen2560 9 лет назад +1

      Jonny Placido I think that is exactly how Chopin himself came up with this... The notes are actually, by sound, way off with each other.... However when all of the notes are played like this, and with good rythm and timing it creates a really nice and beautiful sound..

    I've always loved classical music, though I found out about this piece when watching Your Lie in April. I literally got goosebumps with the more "dreamy" part.
    I really can't understand how a human would be able to describe such beauty without using words, and transmit so many emotions through music...
    When I first listened to this piece, the arpegio part really caught me aback, after the "harshness" of the first part (which I actually loved), and then when it comes back to the (modified) beginning... It's just undescribable.
    This this performance is truly one of my favorite of this etude so far. Wright really does know how to get back that feeling you get when you first listen to such piece.

    I appreciate this rendition so much because the melody isn't lost in that staccato action in the left and bottom of the right hands. It's such a beautiful melody and this interpretation doesn't make it all syrupy and prolonged but allows for Chopin's deep musicality while managing that required level of technique. Neither aspect is sacrificed. I don't know if that makes any sense but it makes sense in my head haha. The more I listen to other versions, the more I appreciate this one. Just my thoughts =) Thank you for posting this!!

    *Excellent playing. Josh played with "ALMA" ( all his heart ), it´s an amazing rendition, because he has the power of technique as a background, and he plays with musicality. Indeed, it´s one of the best renditions of this piece ever. He had care with each note, but not as a student would do. It´s great to see Josh playing professionaly instead of only talking about playing on his channel.*

    honestly i've recently been trying to find good music to study to and i came across classical as a result of it, but after a few days i realized that i liked it for more reasons than just having something to listen to. every composer and pianist that performs the pieces has their own distinct styles and every note and dynamic is there for a reason, to convey a message without words. a lot of the time i just sit and listen and try to find the story, which is something i feel everyone should do at some point. sorry for ranting lmao this is just one of my favorite chopin pieces because it makes more sense the more times you listen to it and think about it.

    What an irony, i was thinking about it once i hear this song playing. (Cuz i didnt like this song, even from shigatsu xD)
    But strangely, i started to think about how i care so much about everything. Looking at josh playing the notes effortlessly, i was wondering how how he memorised all those notes. But pianists don't memorise, right? They FEEL the notes as if they are a part of them. That's why they play it so effortlessly. This led me to question my playing (as im a pianist too), and all those fears, all those anxieties before a performance just being so hysterical about what if i forget my notes like what kousei did, makes me wonder why ive never thought of how im gonna convey the emotion to the audiences? Not just trying to 'hit every note' perfectly, but just..conveying your emotions to the audiences, why i loved my piece, and what i feel about it.
    As a kid i never really practised, let alone thinking why i played this piece. I was simply dumped with several exam pieces, practise, sit for the next exam, and this cycle continues. I cannot deny the fact that shigatsu made me think of the purpose of playing pieces, and not to mention its so beautiful :)
