I love how Maggie Gyllenhaal conveys her falling for him with her gasp/sigh after he tells her "i brought you flowers". Amazing scene and amazing actress. Will Ferrell is also spot on in this movie not being a clown. Also: great Movie, love it every time I watch it :)
Will Ferrell has this moment too. It’s right after the scene where the narrator explains the image from the leaper. She says that the serenity of the woman she believes comes from the “wind against her cheeks” pulling her face back and closing her eyes as she explains. In the next scene, he’s in the office of the human resource therapist, clouds as a backdrop. As the narrator monologues his feeling of the baker, he closes his eyes and takes a breath, and the clouds begin to move ever so slightly. - he’s falling for her.
This scene made me feel more than I’ve ever felt in any other romantic scene I’ve ever seen and I saw this when I was like 10 years old lol. Then for my last birthday, my boyfriend got me “flowers” (🍃) and I was like yup….he’s the one! Lol
One of my favorite scenes of all time! Great acting for Maggie in this scene, you can see in a second she goes from hating him to I think falling in love with him. If Will Farrell can act like that. Why the funny, but fart joke movies.
I'm a writer, so puns are huge wins for me. The title of the movie intrigued me as well as the plot, and I'm usually a 50/50 sort of guy with Will's performances but this movie is a classic top ten for me. Definitely an underrated classic in so many ways
This is the moment they connect because at one point in the movie they came off like 2 completely different people but the truth is they go together. From the beginning when he came into her shop up until that point, made for each other. This movie is legit af.
I absolutely love this scene. It's so awkward and cute and the realization that it's flours instead of flowers just makes me smile.
"Hi"
"Hi"
... "Hi"
... "Hi"
I love that as soon as he says the words, the whole tone of the scene changes, because that pun in that moment was bulletproof
One of the most under rated movies of all time....with one of the most romantic scenes in movie history...
His game is on point.
As a baker myself, this would 100% work for me
🙃 🧁
I love the word play. He’s awed by her, but he’s been odd. Auditor auditee relationship, great scene!

I need Will Ferrell in more dramatic roles.
I fuckin love that movie. Just love it, the plot, the cast, the story they told. Amazing

I love Maggie as Miss Pascal
This scene made ME gasp!! I don't....gasp!!! LOVE THIS MOVIE!!

Well, she liked him from before when she baked the cookies. That's why he says he's in a tragedy, he practically shot himself in the foot. 🤦♀️😂
@@samf.s8786 that's true
I hate Will Ferrell for not putting himself out there in drama movies more. He is SO GOOD at them.
@@itsrightbehindyouDefinitely, I wish he had made more movie like this one.
He can do both. I prefer him in movies like this, but I do like a Talladega Nights type too.
This is such an adorable scene 😍 ❤️
Gotta admit, pretty romantic
i just got this and i saw the movie in theater
Sometimes I imagine life without women, only to find that it is worth nothing. You are the ones who give meaning to this life and make it livable
I'M GONNA FUCKING CRY, MAN 😢 THIS SOOO ADORABLE 😢
I brought you flowers...her hair blows in the wind...all tears
Flowers?
Emily Petsche Flours, since she's a baker

My favorite Will Ferrell movie by far and one of my favorite movies ever for sure.
As a writer, what other movies would you recommend?
His genuine, straightforward nature shut down her sarcasm like LA traffic at rush hour. Beautiful dynamic!
He didn’t just melt her heart, he threw it in the sun
He baked it
@@ItCameFromTheSkyBeLo He. He. He… Nice!

So damn romantic
Eye know it seems strange but giving flowers to a woman very much effects them. I've seen it.
I think about this scene at least once a year. It’s so fucking sweet and clever and romantic.
trade
"farther" ..... women....
