  • This is Part 2 of the Clamshell Box. This will show you how to finish off your box by covering the trays with paper and attaching them to the lid.
Watch Part 1 to see where you can download my handy-dandy worksheets so the measurements for your clamshell box come out perfectly every time.
See Part 1 here: • Clamshell Box Part 1
Here is a great source for the bookboard, or binder's board, mentioned in the video. You can get it in several different thicknesses.

If you're tired of cutting bookboard by hand (particularly the thicker bookboard used for making boxes and slipcases) this inexpensive guillotine works wonderfully and is a real time and hand-saver.

Also a great source for PVA adhesive:

Absolutely fantastic tutorial! The first clamshell box I made was made from instructions from DAS bookbinder Darryn. There were several mistakes made as he didn't provide the very best instructions on the measurements needed to construct the box, and didn't include the availability of written worksheets for the measurements. Those were a real God send! Thank you ever so much for your time and effort in creating the two vids!! :)

How do you name the bowl that you use for the glue?

It's just a ceramic soap dish that I bought at Ikea many years ago. I've tried to find them again but they haven't carried them for a long time. It makes a perfect dish for glue!

What kind of paper stock do you use to wrap the book board? Does it have to be a certain weight an acid-free?
