      Hi. I think that when you read your Bible from Genesis through Revelation, there is only one obvious conclusion. When you put it aside, you’ll think like the world thinks. Similarly, if you think back to when you were a child, maybe 3 or 4 years old, remember how you had great hope and great faith, and nothing seemed impossible to you. However, about the time you entered school this started to gradually dissipate. I see a correlation here. When God is your teacher, it produces great faith. When the world is your teacher, it produces great doubt. We should read our Bible and believe it, without putting it through the lens of worldly thinking. In other words, it is not the world that confirms scripture, but the Holy Spirit. We need the ability to just simply believe God. And then it’s over. There is no debate. God is right and everyone else is wrong. No persons opinions matter at all. God gave us the facts, and everything else belongs in the trash.

    I firmly believe NO ONE reads the Bible and concludes Cessationism. That’s something you are taught or maybe conclude from disappointment. How in the world do you reason, from the scripture, without someone whispering in your ear that the gifts have ceased? Makes no sense

      I was just thinking the same thing.
      Maybe there is a viable argument, and there are people that are actually saying there is no such thing as the miraculous or spiritual gifting today, but for the most part, I certainly do not see that.
      I think, there are legit born again believers that are questioning a lot of the sensationalism and show business of Christianity.
      (all done through a spirit of pride, control, and self righteousness)
      I believe a lot of these people are coming at this with sincere hearts with their skepticisms, and want the world to know the truth of the gospel and to experience a very real and tangible miraculous change.
      A lifting from fear, now and the afterlife, and the sense of guilt and condemnation that comes as a result.
      These people are just tired of the circus act and the abuse and deception and might I add control in much of what is going on.
      They’re putting their foot down and calling a spade a spade.
      I think we really need to pray, and use wisdom and see and understand the heart of those that are challenging the prideful religious systems that we have aloud to rise to todays “ Christianity”.

      @@GoodGospel_ so you were a continuationist, experiencing and moving in the gifts and mighty power… and then you just turned it off one day without ANYONE influencing you in any way? Or did you never really move in them to any serious level and then pray for something that didn’t happen or see it abused get let down and through disappointment and peer influence change your stance? If you started out continuous then changed then some thing or someone changed your mind from the pure scripture.
      The biggest lie we tell ourselves is that we came to interpretations without anyone’s influence. Unless you’re a hermit, which you can’t be and be on RUclips- someone influenced you on your doctrine.
      Just because you can misspell a theological word not in the Bible proves nothing. Thanks for judging me harshly and making assumptions that are false. I have degrees in ministry and university, 12+ years of traditional ministry and have been ordained, been to 21 countries, actually worked with Daniel and some of these guys personally for years- oh and am currently a pastor😇 how about you?

    In 2016 I contracted hepatitis C. It was even my fault because I was using needles I cried and cried to the Lord and begged for healing. I went to a Revival not long after that and a woman came and told me I was healed after I was leaving an alter call. I went back to the doctors and they said that I did not have Hepatitis C anymore I even took my mother in because I was so sure they were going to tell me I didn't have it anymore. I brought my mother along which is also a Pastor. She heard the doctors. I have documented medical proof that I had it and now I don't. This is only one of several times I know I've been healed. Praise the Lord

    Pastor Kolenda, this is the first video I found in this series, I will go back to see the others. I'm impressed with your scholarship. Do you address the formation of the Catholic church? I've read Eusebius's 'HIstory of the Church', so I'm aware of how the early church had structures such as bishoprics, that became the Catholic church. I bring this up because I'm wondering how these early Christians could have veered off into over-venerating the saints, even praying to them, and Mary, and becoming a corrupt shell of its former self. I think many evangelicals struggle with this. Thank you.

      I am thinking of doing CFAN evangelism school, and I am interested in this topic too. I studied some patristic sources awhile back, the early church certainly had structures and ways of doing things that are antithetical to modern day evangelicalism. There are also guys like Joe Heschmeyer on You Tube that have some interesting takes on the early church. Anyways I hope Daniel Kolenda addresses this.

      Jesus does not condemn us.
      John 8:10-11
      10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
      11 “No one, sir,” she said.
      “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
      We condemn ourselves whe we reject the truth to follow doctrines of men.
      Mark 7:6-9
      6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
      “‘These people honor me with their lips,
      but their hearts are far from me.
      7 They worship me in vain;
      their teachings are merely human rules.’
      8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
      9 And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!

    When you get to the 10th century disclaimer at around 24:30, it's worth noting that there is scriptural precedent for such. In 1 Samuel 3:1 we see, "Now in those days the word of the LORD was rare and visions were scarce," indicating a sort of ebb and flow to the overtly supernatural. Never does the Bible say such has ceased, only that it indicates there are periods where God seemingly moves with less frequency than in other times and seasons.

    If a newly born again believer were placed on an island alone, and they read the Bible consistently for say 1 year, the chances they’d end up a cessationist would be near zero.

  • @7gmeister
    @7gmeister 6 месяцев назад +1

    How ironic that a man named Benjamin was at the heart of cessationism.
    Benjamin means the son of my right hand.
    It’s a picture of righteousness by faith and when you understand grace and the cross then you understand that righteousness is a gift that we receive by faith and not of works.
    I was responding to another comment when I said that every bad teaching comes blatantly through pretextual arguments.
    If you understand the cross and what grace is which is unmerited favor and you go into the Bible reading it in context you’ll start questioning A LOT of the teachings the modern church holds that are common among Christians today.
    The thing is with these outer layer doctrines is that it’s extremely important to understand who you are arguing with.
    What are their core beliefs?
    They almost ALWAYS have some beliefs that are pretextual like you can lose your salvation or that your must vibes your sins to be forgiven and they’re all on shaky ground.
    Everyone of them are driven by their own insecurities and guilt they carry and the interesting thing I’ve noticed is that these are people that usually come from extremely awful upbringings where they were raised in abusive homes or no father.
    I can’t say all because I don’t know all but every single person I’ve run across making these kinds of arguments that I knew about their past that this was the case and there’s also a very large number of people that use these arguments because of financial gain which is really crazy and a lot to explain but any time I see someone that is eager to try to disqualify believers based on their actions or the blessings that come by grace through faith such as healings there’s many times financial gain there.
    Btw, every ministry in the NT was marked by miracles.
    There’s a reason for this because it’s a way of legitimizing the involvement and the leading of the Holy Spirit and the reason for that is that it’s the goodness of God that brings men to repentance so if we want a litmus test of legitimate ministry then miracles, signs and wingers have to be involved somewhere in your ministry.
    It’s tangible evidence that God is involved.
    You can’t argue with a doctors report that’s included an X-ray of terminal cancer and then a clean bill of health following or a dead guy walking around.
    Nothing shuts down the atheists arguments then genuine miracles.
    They will still argue that God has nothing to do with it but people just won’t listen to them after that😂

    Cessationists, in other words, unbelievers, have great faith in what the devil will do. Just not in what God will do. Remember the Pharisees claiming that Jesus was using the power of the devil. In other words, God isn’t going to do it, but the devil sure will. So, that is where their faith rests then. It is self evident.

    Religious people pretend that the more they pray, worship and preach (even to things that are not biblical) is the more faith they have. But their faith is as useless as their lack of deeds.
    James 2:18-20
    18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
    Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
    20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?.
    James 4:17
    If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

    As the Word says "ask and it'll be given to you" (Mat 7:7). Doesn't mean that it will be given right in the moment that you ask for it nor in the way you want it. We aknowledge that if we ask according to God's will, He hears us (1 john 5:14)
    I could listen 50 minutes to someone quoting words from religious people and several saints but God's word. I, rather read the Bible for 5 minutes asking the holy spirit for accurate discernment.
    Men can talk quite a lot while God's word remain the same.
    Being called cessationist, I can (easily) live with that. Live deceived by a man, I can not afford that.

    • @kciwner
      @kciwner 6 месяцев назад +4

      Except that the men talking are backing up exactly what scripture says. And the Church doesn’t consist of you and your Bible. It is the accumulation of all the saints until the end of time. Believers. That is the key word. I have no reason to believe that a dead man won’t be raised in front of my eyes today. But every unbeliever will tell you that won’t happen. Every atheist, every agnostic, every religious person on the planet. Every devil in hell. So we’ll just go back to scripture. And there it is. Undeniable. So who is our example. Jesus, or the well spoken and well studied man behind the pulpit? I have not found one person in the scriptures condemned for believing too much. About the opposite though? You tell me.

    • @brunofuentes7915
      @brunofuentes7915 6 месяцев назад

      The accumulation of saints (with their writings), traditions (man made), doctrins (man made), etc. Have diminished God's word for 2000 years. And will continue (non stop) to diminish and also to blurry the understanding of the scriptures (Bible).
      Everybody can continue to follow anything or anybody they want, at the end the TRUTH will be revealed. Unfortunately, it, will be too late.
      Jeremiah 10:1-5
