Saw/heard them play this tune in Japan and California. Was looking at their twtr, and Kanami said she can't play "From Now On" without getting an adrenaline rush. Meanwhile Miku was talking about a horse-racing bet that went well, and the whole band is talking about the concert at the Tokyo Garden Theater in Jan.-they're pumped for that. (They have another show before that actually.) Garden Theater doesn't have the prestige of Budokan, but it's a much plusher place. I'm sure this tune will be on the setlist.

I watched a bunch of the U.S. tour concerts and whenever they played FNO you could tell that Kanami was totally lost in her own world. (Unseen World?) It's got to take all her concentration to play that lead. The MV seemed to show the same. I also noticed that during Misa's solo, she always stepped back to her amp stack to rehydrate. That piece is cathartic just to listen to; I can't imagine what it feels like to perform it at Band-Maid's level.

To me, it's like Miku is the baseline for Kanami. As Milku's skill gets better, it frees up Kanami to write more complex tunes for the band.

This musical piece, I won't call it a song, is my absolute favorite Band Maid piece to this moment. I'm still waiting for Kanami to cut loose and create something similar to this in a longer format. She's crossing the boundaries into a prog form all her own with the incredible help of her bandmates. Band Maid has, as a group, exceeded their boundaries and IMHO have achieved the ability to not only create great songs but also to create greater musical works of art that will stand as musical edifices. I'm totally excited to see where their newer style takes them.

The troll doesn't understand that praise for Band Maid is genuine and heartfelt. When something touches you so profoundly it's easy to overuse superlatives. TLDR; Yes, me too! I want to see where they go next,!
One of my all-time favorite albums is Quadrophenia and it is one of those works of art. Pressures worked against Townshend. They had recorded Tommy and it was a great success. Pete wanted to create a science fiction rock opera (Lifehouse) but it collapsed under the weight of his multimedia vision and was abandoned. It became Who's Next - a most excellent album despite it's genesis. Townshend completed the double-album rock opera Quadrophenia but they had a hard time touring it. Roger objected to having anyone but the four members on stage playing it, so they used backing tracks. The backing tracks on magnetic tape were error-prone. In spite of all that, it is a staggering work of art.
I know Band-Maid can do something truly epic, and without the self-destruction that overtook the Who. It seems like the rest of the band support Kanami and trust her; but who knows if their management feel the same way. Quadrophenia had radio-friendly singles on it; The Real Me, 5:15, and Love Reign O'er Me for example. If Band-Maid continue making successful songs like Sense and Unleash!!!!! their management might "overlook" any perceived extravagances. If someone in the band seriously objects to songs longer than 4:20 she can accommodate them; they don't all _have_ to be 15 minute epics, although I wouldn't mind one every once in a while.

Saw them in Philadelphia & New Jersey. I was second row directly in front of Miku in Philly & on the rail Kanami side in NJ. They played "Onset" & "From now on" back to back at both shows! Both performances were phenomenal but this song in Jersey was damn near a spiritual moment for me... Kanami was SOOOO into it she was just headbanging & thrashing about with out missing a single note! She got so into it that she just kinda staggered off the stage for the MC break that was directly after... it was epic! 🤘🔥

To me, this song was a highlight of the show, and actually stood out among the rest of their songs (which is saying something) as freaking fantastic. The only thing I'd have had them do differently is to use this as an opener, just because this song just screams to be used that way to me. It was indeed epic live and yes they pulled off all of that stuff fantastically. One thing I've noticed a lot recently with Akane, is that she'll use the technique where you repeat the same fast rhythmic pattern but in a way where a different part of the pattern is accented on each measure. For example for you musicians out there, if you say this is in a fast 4/4, - she played here two 16ths tied to an eight note for beat one, an eight tied to two 16ths for beat two, and two eighths for beat three, and then started the pattern over on beat 4 - so essentially, beat one of the next measure is the same as beat two of the measure before - so the accent on beat one lands on a different part of the pattern than the measure before. This is a cool little trick and of course she's far from the first person to do this, but this is just one of the many cool things she does just constantly to make the song really cool!! Sorry for geeking out there - and of course Mincho is just on fire the whole time, as in holy crap!

Yep, amazing. Apparently the others wanted Kanami to write an instrumental with an orchestral backing track. Kanami usually produces the backing track and the guitar parts, and programs rough drum and bass parts. Then she sends the demo to Misa and then Akane. I bet they were totally jazzed when they got that demo. They definitely extended theirselves writing their own parts..

I was fortunate to be at the Houston and New York shows. In Houston they did Onset then it blended into From Now On. In New York they played From Now On but not Onset. For me the live videos are better than the studio tracks and their live concerts are better than live videos (if that is possible). There is the excitement of not knowing what might happen. These girls are the real thing they duplicated the sound note for note and added tasteful embellishments. Live concerts are the best not just Band Maid….quiet jazz at 3 in the morning in a club to symphony orchestras in a big concert hall. It touches you in a way that is different than headphones or big speakers.

The MV was originally part of the extras on the DVD with the Unleash EP. The Band also played it on many occasions during the last US tour. So you would think that the fact it was heavily announced that this would become the first official instrumental Band Maid MV. Would make the release all a bit unexciting for those of us that have listened and seen it many times. Well this is Band Maid. I am as moved and thrilled to listen to it now as I was the first time I heard it on the EP. I just run out of superlatives for the Band. Needless to say it is Band Maid. Thanks again from B-M's homeland 有難う💛。I witnessed this song at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on Sept. 7 as 12th in the setlist. Band-Maid fans there had of course already known their skills and talents. When I heard that they played it as opening at Saitama Super Arena on Nov.9 as support to Guns N Roses (like they did at Aftershock), I felt very proud of them. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who did not know who the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
