    MISA is my number one as well. I am more of a metal fan so my number 2 is Miyu of Asterism and number 3 is Fami of Lovebites. I had never heard of your numbers 2 and 3. Now, I am officially a Suspended 4th fan.

    • @Rabbi_Rabbs
      @Rabbi_Rabbs  7 месяцев назад +2

      Right on! Welcome to the fan club. Suspended 4th is legit. 45-minute free outdoor jam sessions without a microphone. No singer. Multi-instrumentalists, and sometimes mid-set the drummer switches with a guitarist, and you won't even realize that happened. Thanks for watching, and glad we share the same number one.

    Nagaiake Joe of SCOOBIE DO pretty good. ..found them via Cluppo..He was the bassist on Miku's project...and Serina of TRiDENT......MISA goes without saying.

    I notice most of us agree on no.1 but diverge for 2 and 3. I'd have to include Juna Serita at 2, but 3 is wide open for me... (Gacharic Spin? Trident? several others....)

    Had the pleasure of seeing Band Maid in 20222 in Dallas. Three rough rows back between Miku And MISA. She demonstrates how good she is while making it look so easy . Testimony to her hard work . She is easily one of the best and deserves much more recognition .

    Juna Serita.. (Tokyo Groove)
    Miu (Asterism)
    Kiyoshi
    Fami (Lovebites/ solo)
    there are a lot of great bass players there .
    Misa was on my fabs list too.

    I 💯 agree with misa and there are so many especially from Japan! My number 2 would be juna serita from Tokyo groove jiyoshi and the Miu from asterism as number 3! If you haven't seen juna's performance of What is hip twin bass you should Mr Rabs!❤

      Thanks for watching! Those are solid picks! Funny you mention Juna, as just the other day I watched her perform on Shoka Okubo's new video which dropped. It's a cover of "Valerie", and check out the Band-Maid fans representing in that video's comments section. :-)
      I also like Asterism. I come from a jazz background, and I got a feeling you do too. Right on!

    Recognised your name because of JBF guitar. Nice video. Must have been hard to narrow it down to three. Suspended 4th is a familiar name - I must give them a proper listen. The other two I know and love.
    In keeping with the theme of this comments section, I'll go with MISA, MISAki Fujiwara, MIyu Yoshinaka.

    • @Rabbi_Rabbs
      @Rabbi_Rabbs  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for watching, and for the nice props! Much appreciated. Yes, Jbf is my sensei. I got a hunch you helped introduce him to Sokoninaru and Asterism? Very talented bands, both of their bassists are solid picks, and yes, it's tough to narrow down to three. It's also tough to narrow MISA's highlights into 2 minutes. :)

    Thanks for sharing many bassists from Japan. I know there are many players (not just the ones in this video), who are technically advanced. However, it sounds like most of them are just showing off their skills, not creating a perfect and impressive bass line that fits and adds flavour to songs. For me, same as you, Misa is the best😉

    Three excellent players! I'd also suggest Tatsuya Kitani if you haven't heard him. Great solo material (new LP just came out this month), but also has done excellent work in particular with Yorushika. Their tune Thoughtcrime has a pretty badass solo on it.

      Thanks so much for watching. Glad you like my faves. Tatsuya is a great choice, talent coming out of his ears. Thanks for the heads up on Yorushika. You probably figured out that's my kind of sound. I was a huge fan of Fern Planet/Rick Rack, and what I've heard so far from Yorushika reminds me of them.

    My top 3 are what everyone shouts at Band-Maid gigs - MISA! MISA! MISA! Jokes aside, that was a superb selection and I'll be looking further at Taiki. Fami, Lovebites' new bassist, would be in my top 3 as well as Miyu of Asterism (his 7 string bass is a sight to see and boy can he play it). Took me a second to place why I knew your name but then I realised you're one of Jack's (Jbfguitar) biggest supporters! He'll be happy you chose MISA, I'm sure!

      Thanks so much for watching, and for your positive feedback. I'm glad you like my picks. I also recognize your name from our sensei, Jbf. If I recall, you're the one, or among the ones, that intro'd him to Asterism, right? That's a talented ensemble. I like that modern jazzy sound. Similar to another Japan band I like called Qoopie.

      Haha, MISAx3 would've been epic. Never heard of Are Square. Just checked out that MV. That was awesome! Thanks for the heads up, dude. That fits right in with some of my fave California bands such as AFI, Offspring, Chili Peppers, Rancid. I'd say mostly AFI, but you sent me to check out the bassist, and yes, he got Flea vibes. I'll plunge into that band this week.

    I don't know how I feel about Fukuda. Playing fast doesn't necessarily make it sound good. I liked the jazz in the beginning but MISA is always playing what's best for the song.

    • @Rabbi_Rabbs
      @Rabbi_Rabbs  7 месяцев назад +2

      If they were my 2 baseball pitchers, Fukuda's got that overpowering 100 mph fastball, but MISA's got at least 6 pitches in her arsenal, so I put her on the mound to start opening day.
