I tried 2 Holley Sniper EFIs on my rebuilt 302 in my 67 Mustang Convertible. Both of them failed majestically. One (return with a fuel regulator) collected vapor locks like some collect baseball cards. The other never worked straight from Holley. Went back to my 650 4 bbl. Might do the Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI next though. Great vid and love the car--thx!
Just lost the 289 out of my 68. Pulling an 80’s 302 and this helped the decision had I’m taking the AOD trans with it. Did you need to shorted the driveshaft?
I had a new one made only because it was bent. But you might be able to make it work if you cut a little off of the shaft that goes into the transmission. but I can’t guarantee that would work.
I recently completed a 302 and aod swap in my '66. My aod is shifting too early. Did you make adjustments at the adjuster nuts near carburetor or did you have re-check pressure at the transmission port? appreciate any help. Thanks!
I didn’t really have a good way of calculating the fuel economy, but it was definitely improved. I would highly suggest doing a return style system. It wasn’t that much harder to put a return back to the tank, when we tried to do returnless, we would consistently get vapor lock and the car would die after it was warm, and wouldn’t stay running at idle.
@@hounate9476 I needed a new tank because the original was was full of 20 year old gas lol. This tank was easy to replace and cheap, I made a video on that. I used the drain on the bottom of the tank to hook up the return line to which is the cheap and easy way. Holley sells an in tank pump with feed and return line all in one, but it was $500 and we already had a pump
So im thinking about converting to sniper efi in a '64 Olds 88 I just got, but ive never delved into the ins and outs of automatic transmissions and dont quite understand how this will effect the kickdown of my 3 speed auto. What did you do for the kickdown in your situation?
The kickdown cable will work just as it does now, and in the same mounting location on the throttle body. The throttle linkage on the sniper they make exactly the same as a carb for ease of installation. Your big difference is going to be fuel pump mounting, and getting a fuel return line back to the tank. But that’s not hard.

Sorry you had such bad luck, both Holley systems have worked great. The auto tune is cool but a real tune helps tremendously.
Car looks great! are they 15s or 17s” for the wheel/tire choice?
Those are 17s off of a 2005 Mustang GT

How much bigger is the aod than the c4?. I don't want to massage or cut the trans tunnel. Doesn't look like you had to.
It’s a little wider, but you still have more than enough space, I didn’t have to cut or bang anything in the trans tunnel.

Once I had it dialed in with the pressure gauge I slowly adjusted the nuts, it is very touchy. But I finally got it to where I like it.

I just watched this really good video on adjusting the cable.
What kind of gas mileage were you getting? I've got a 289 V8 with an AOD, thinking about adding a returnless EFI.

@@LowBoostFilms Did you need to buy a new tank before running a return line?

Is this Mustang running the Holley 5200 two barrel?
I think it’s called the 2300?
What is rear end geared at
2.93. I know lol. But 75mph on the highway it’s 1800 rpm. Great for cruising
I live in BSpa...shout out!
Oh nice! Any relation to Mark?
@@LowBoostFilms most of my family is from Stillwater/Mechanicville...there isn't many Petronis's so yeah probably.
