I also find that fixing my pattern pieces to the fabric with double-sided sticky tape helps keep them in place!

Thank you, have just started working with viscose fabric and been stressed by how much it moves. Will be trying starch spray. 😊

Where can I find those adorable donut pattern weights?🥰😍

They were from a seller (and friend) Oh Sew Quaint a few years ago, but sadly she has since closed. I think there's a few more sellers these days for similar, have a search on Etsy for 'doughnut pattern weights'. Too cute aren't they! Abi x

Is there a particular roller blade you recommend. I'm very inexperienced with them, having used scissors all my long sewing life!

Hi Maggie, in this video I'm using one from LDH Scissors but have also used ones by Cricut and OLFA, they've all been great. Then when you need to, you can buy replacement blades. Abi x

I have some slippery fabric that I want to use shirring elastic on but the fabric won’t stay still enough for me to mark my lines that I will sew the shirring along, do you have any tips for this or another way I can do this? Thank you! 🙏

No one answered a year ago so my comment is too late but for any seeing this you don’t need marking. On a straight stitch if you set stitching width to all the way up to the widest your stitching will move to one side of the presser foot when. Then using a wide foot like your zigzag foot you can use the edge of the presser foot to follow the finished edge/hem of the fabric to make that first line. After that then use that stitching as a line and follow that with the edge of your presser foot and so on. You will get evenly spaced lines without marking them. Though you will have to gently stretch the previous line of shirring flat as you sew to see the stitching line. I had to do this once when all my chalk lines kept disappearing and my fabric was too dark for my blue disappearing ink. Now I always do this.
