Karina of Lifting Pins & Needles has fabulously simple and very well explained videos on increasing front and back rise and she shows grading of pattern using all the pattern pieces which is so simple …. I’m sure you’ll be impressed
Hey Hayley, have you heard of fitting method by the. Late Nancy Zieman of fit the upper bust and then pivot and draw to your size. It works! There is a 20 or so minute tutorial on RUclips worth watching.
I found this so helpful as I am also plus size. The soi tee shirt looks stunning on you.The cut is so flattering on you and I love the sleeve length. The blue dress looked lovely on you.If you decide to make it again you could always place the pattern pieces on top of the made dress to help remind you of how you altered it. I remember you starting your business, many years ago, before others.I am so pleased to see how you have developed and grown.
Hi, all beautiful makes - in particular the blue cloud t shirt and that fabulous dress. I am planning to sew up a few dresses for our summer later on this year. I find it easier to eliminate the pockets when sewing up a new trouser pattern - and then once I am happy with the fit, I reintroduce the pockets. So good luck with your next trouser project. A tried and true trouser pattern is just pure gold. Happy sewing. 🌸
You might like to look at the Upland Trousers by Itch to Stitch. I'm plus sized and the pair I made fitted me perfectly, rise and all, with no alterations. I am planning on making another pair with the green fabric which was in your box with the Tilly and the Buttons pants pattern. It's winter here in New Zealand so the green will make a lovely spring colour. Take care.
Have you seen the Chalk and Notch Isle trousers/jeans? You may be able to get a better fit more easily with the Isle because the waist has darts you can adjust and no waistband. Also, the front has patch pockets so easier to grade. I have made two pairs and the instructions are great!
I tried the Hughes dress and although I fitted into one their standard measurements it was still a disaster! Instead I have found the Shelby dress absolutely perfect 👌
I would love to order your boxes but I live in the US and I'm not sure of shipping costs. Would you tell me the cost of the Classic box with shipping to US?
Of course, it’s £40 for a Classic box and an extra £17.50 for tracked international shipping. It’ll change a little each time depending on the exchange rate - currently that equals $72.74
