If this is BSG's way of doing an "operation health", I'm all for it. Anyone that knows software also knows that roadmaps are best-case with stretch goals woven in, and the fact that they prioritized netcode and performance over new content bolsters my faith in them.
don't try and make this a good thing, tarkov is full on dead currently and wipes take to long, unlike other games i.e rust, sea of thieves etc they give us a 100% time stamps on when wipes are. bsg not providing that makes people take time off of work when they presume the wipe is forcing outrage and distrust with the company itself
Problem is this is the first time they did that. They always add new shit instead of fixing old stuff.

As a Unity dev i need to say it, guys 2019 to 2021 change may be dificult for all the changes in de render pipelines so lets wait a bit for them, is not easy to do that change in a big game like tarkov, already to much things developed por the previous pipeline so now they have gi update a looooooot of things
I actually like this. Let the game die for a few wipes.
Imagine if BSG let the game go on a brief hiatus. They still wipe, but it would just be a re-wipe of the same wipe. Here's why this would be the perfect time to do this:
1. First and foremost, it would relieve BSG from the constant pressure of having to push out content with each wipe. Instead, they could focus their undivided attention on fixing the game's issues. By dedicating themselves solely to improvements, we would see faster and more effective fixes. They wouldn't be splitting their energy between fixing things and churning out new content-they would be laser-focused on making the game in it's current state the best it can be. For example, the audio they've been working on for twenty years would not only be fixed, but it may even improve. And only at the cost of a few wipes being the same.
2. Let's face it, the community is exhausted. If BSG continues at this pace, burnout will only escalate. If this idea I'm talking about happened, a lot of people would take a breather from tarkov because the wipes would be the same as the wipe before it. This is a GOOD thing.
Let's say you stop playing tarkov for two wipes because the wipes have been the same. It's a nice break, and you play some other games. After awhile you hear about a collosal wipe. When wipe day comes, you find a ton of fixes AND polished content? The community would flock back in droves and no one would be burned out anymore because they've been on vacation. I don't know about you guys, but I'd much rather choose that over the current never-ending cycle of lackluster content and minimal game fixes.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying BSG should do this all the time for every wipe. But I do think it's healthy for the community, BSG, and the game itself if they did this at all at some point.

I've been playing customs since update, and in my experience, dorms notably sounded better and I could actually tell where everyone in the building was from where I was. It allowed me to make a play based on directional sound which was awesome. Im hopeful for the rest

I don't think that's the "major" update yet...they call it technical update themselves. I am guessing they push this one first to improve stability for now and get more players back. I don't think they to prewipe events and push the update months back.

audio is undoubtably better but my framerate on all maps is significantly worse, according to reddit its an amd cpu problem. sucks to have framerate halved from 120 on all maps to 60
if theyve lowered limb damage then to me it makes sense that that upped blunt damage as most people hit limbs with buck etc
When I seen BSGs roadmap I legitimately busted out laughing to myself. Absolutely shocking they are struggling to do what they said they would. Here's to hoping they are straightening the spaghetti code out.

@@hana2634sorry but if you’ve been playing this game for many years like most of the people who would even watch a tweak video, it’s clear BSG sucks lol. They made an incredible game though, so we all stick around hoping one day performance and gameplay elements will be good

Whats concerning is the updated road map comment at the bottom of patch notes. Makes it sound like we might not see a wipe until December or later

At the bottom of the patch notes they say they're going to release an updated roadmap in the near future, so that should answer any "when is Unity update coming" questions
I hoped this patch would fix this game for me but it didn't.
I used to be able to play this game on mid-settings 3 wipes ago, right now game crashes/causes blue screens during loading map.
My pc is fine, all other games performing the same as they used to.
I could be as simple as pushing the update first to "prove" that they have worked hard on certain aspects rather than pushing it together and everyone being like "oh 2021 fixed everything" I know I would be demotivated as a dev who just fixed X thing, and now the engine gets the praise.
Luv yer vids. Forget the gym and just drop and do 10 or 20 each log in. You be ready for the WWF in 2 months.
Oh boy I can't wait for the new Pandora's box of bugs that will never be patched to come out of a major recording like this. I literally live in constant fear of updates at this point as its now almost every patch this wipe has made the game worse in multiple glitchy ways. So much for this wipe!

Streets is a fuckin warzone now i spawned by Concordia and went into the parking lot under the playground i killed like 8 scavs then i went up to collapsed crane which is right next to parking lot and fought like another 8 scavs and got messed up bad, i died later to another scav cuz my chest was blacked out killed a total of 17 scavs within the same area. Pretty ridiculous i can no longer do loot runs on streets at night
I still think October for wipe. also first. 😂

If you set the difficulty on practice to horde, not a single SCAV spawns. I cant understend how they cant even test the shit they are advertising in the pach notes :(

I'm still experiencing issues with lighting and sound, and these two problems have persisted for many years. I doubt that the new changes they want to implement will fix them, so I've decided to take a break until at least these two issues are addressed. Even the cheating problem probably hasn't been resolved. I haven't played the game in the last 9 months, and I don't see myself playing for a year or more. I've invested over 4000 hours since I bought this game in early 2019 or late 2018. I do hope they can improve these problems, but I'm no longer going to keep holding my breath for these changes. I will just play something else in the mean time.

outside of flechette ammo for shotguns i dont see the point of this change... .50 bmg is good early/early mid wipe and then you go to flechette/ap20 either way

i love being proven right Tweak i wonder when you guys will start fallowing simple logic there wasn't a wipe when we went from Unity 2018-2019 AND there wont be one with 2021 and here's why i said that.......1 its not database crucial that means the update to the new version of unity isn't critical for the database to continue running 2. it wouldnt make sense to wipe now with Unity 2019 wait a month and some change and then wipe with 13.1.0 when 14.0.0 WILL demand a clean database so we'd wipe with Unity 2021 or 13.1 and then 3-4 months latter wipe with 14.0? and that sounds fun for you?
Simple logic people could it use a wipe? sure yeah will it.......not untill 14.0 OH yeah theres also all the new bugs that 13.1 has that are gonna need to be fixed such as the 11SR door being glitched etc etc etc

Is anyone else having weird audio either on reserve or in general? Sometimes I'll hear an enemy shoot and it will sound like I'm shooting the gun for the first round it's so jarring
IMO if tarkov is gonna wipe again, they should honestly do one more with kernel anti cheat then release arena with full release a few months into the wipe. Its time. This game is dying,

in case anyone gets mad at the roadmap/not being 100% followed, just know, you're the reason studios don't like to share roadmaps. If they can't reach the roadmap, ya'll mad. if they show nothing,ya'll get mad. but at least you can't call them incompetent or liars if they show nothing
