11:39 I love how in this part the music can convey in a subtle way how the death of the ravens of odin if it affected him so much so that odin said "NO" as if these really had a sentimental value
@Lunarquay Yeah, killing thousands of innocents is definitely warranted, Ymir totally deserved to be killed after literally creating Odin and everyone else, what an asshole.
12:00 "YOU RUINED EVERYTHING EVERYTHING I'VE WORKED FOR EVERYTHING I'VE KILLED FOR" this part is truly amazing to see how's odin character while now being truthful towards our cast is still trying to get inside their head and especially manipulate kratos who has learnt for their to be a reason that isn't just revenge
At first, I was unsure if Odin's theme could possibly top Thor's, cause they're both amazing in their own right, but the more I mull it over, the more I'm leaning towards Odin, because holy SHIT everything about this boss theme is amazingly done. In the first phase, the booming drums and brass give this air of immense power and really sell just how dangerous Odin is, and while the strings convey this sense of great sophistication and intelligence, their sharpness and forcefulness of them conveys his malice and insatiable want. Their synergy tells you exactly who Odin is; a brutal, arrogant monster driven by a voracious hunger for more knowledge. And the slow pace makes the threat feel that much more serious. It's a proper ballad to Odin and his bloody, vicious legacy. But the second phase is where everything does a complete heel turn. The drums become faster and more rhythmic, almost like a nervous heartbeat. The strings becoming more frantic gives this impression that Odin's composure is fraying at the seams. And when they do get sharp, they no longer convey authority, but instead this sense of impending dread. Even the horns sound like they're no longer playing for Odin, but almost like they're against him. The second phase is a representation of Odin's psyche. He's finally snapped, and is now in a desperate, furious struggle for his own life. With nothing left, it shows everyone who Odin truly is; a vicious, arrogant, insatiable man who refuses to take any responsibility for his horrible actions, desperately trying to claw himself away from a fate he ultimately brought upon himself. This isn't a ballad. It's a death knell. Of course, I could just be looking too deep into it.

@@Aurelius1239 I think you're forgetting something, in these last two games they have somewhat subverted it by making Loki one of the good guys and all of the villains are ones that are really honorable in actual mythology, Thor is the protector of humanity and Baldur is said to be beloved by all. I think the main antagonist will be Horus, he fills a similar role to Odin and Zeus. (And I have a theory that Set will actually be Kratos.)

Ayo, Zeus may be stronger, but you gotta admit Odin ballin with his Gungnir mixtape. Edit: Waitin for the day this mans does GOW: Egypt. It'll be (Ra)w as fuck.
@@Cutie_OniCory Barlog or Eric Williams never said it. Even when you compare the Greek gods and the Norse gods in cutscenes, the Greek gods are astronomically more powerful and have more broken abilities. In the novelization for GOW1, Ares laughed at a weapon more powerful then the Blades of Chaos. Whereas Thor and Baldur groaned in pain by it, which would've been at their weakest state considering the Blades are fueled by Kratos's rage.
@@Vanerov I'd also like to add that there are multiple sources for the Aesir being considerably weaker than Olympus. I believe in the blurb/description of Ragnarok, the point of the game was for Kratos to fight to Aesir by awakening the "once dormant power within him" Kratos says that he's faced far stronger gods than the likes of Heimdall Baldur was his "toughest opponent of HIS current time": Hence, his time in the Norse world during four. Odin desired the power to change fate, and both Mimir and Freya state that such a power is insane and doesn't exist in the Norse lands, *cough* the Sisters of Fate.
@@rairai3922Yeah, people's biggest argument against this is what Corey Barlog responded to GBG on Twitter/X. That current Kratos would defeat His younger self no questions asked, and that current version as trouble with these current Norse Gods. I've looked at the lore, there hasn't been a single canonical statement the Greek Gods grow in power just by doing nothing, but through worshippers as I've seen reading the novelizations. To add, Norse Kratos punches Baldur, Thor and Odin. Damaging them, they react to it, and they're also damaged by the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos. Whereas a Kratos back then, with far more powerful weaponry, the gods He fought survived those attacks and His bare-hands severely affected them. Thanatos tanked the Blades of Athena, which surpass the Blades of Chaos, and this Kratos was capable of ripping His chest open after Thanatos killed Deimos. He uses the Blades of Athena/Exile on gods in GoW3 and they survive it, while also being damaged by His physical attacks. So with this, we can safely say Ragnarok Kratos isn't at the level of His younger self. Further implemented when the GOW3 Official Guide states Zeus, in His astral form, took away all of His amps and only kept His physical prowess as the God of War, but without the magical powers since His Pantheon is destroyed.

Finally, the Ode to Odin.
That ending 😂. This is perfect man, all phases, cutscenes transitions and ost parts included, all father is a legendary final boss music. I was thinking if you could do this for garm as well, because you already uploaded 2 versions. A complete one with phase 1, chase and phase 2 would be perfect
The boss fight was epic and even this song is epic! 😊
8:40 feels like a continuation of the beginning of Elden ring Mohg's theme of second face after his wings form
Love when his coat comes off and he stands there all menacing, ready to kick ass. What a legend
7:00 Odin spends centuries trying to piece together the mask expecting a green crack in his basement to provide all the answers he was looking for, gets what he wants only for the crack to drop him into the Backrooms. Best ending ever.
Imagine It’s just coordinates to another fuckin mask lmao

Ayo, Zeus may be stronger, but you gotta admit Odin ballin with his Gungnir mixtape.
Edit: Waitin for the day this mans does GOW: Egypt. It'll be (Ra)w as fuck.
It's actually stated by the director that the Aesir were more powerful than the Olympians
@@scorpion40k wait where has that been said? I don't remember it at all
@@Cutie_OniCory Barlog or Eric Williams never said it.
I believe in the blurb/description of Ragnarok, the point of the game was for Kratos to fight to Aesir by awakening the "once dormant power within him"
Kratos says that he's faced far stronger gods than the likes of Heimdall
Baldur was his "toughest opponent of HIS current time": Hence, his time in the Norse world during four.
Odin did NOT just use the bifrost whip on black history month 💀

I know it's been near to a year since this was released, but I just wanted to say that I love the little section notes you put in, a personal favorite of mine would be "Grandpa Sicko Mode". It really made watching a soundtrack compilation much more hilarious than it had any right being.

I swear on my life, 15:09-16:20 is the best part of this whole medley.
I can feel this music by my bones 😣😣😣😣
The ONLY criticism I have of this theme...
16:23 The original lyrics here would have been such an amazing echo.
Hann þjaist - he's in pain
Hann þarfnast fodur - he needs a father
Ekki guðs - not a god
In this new context it's a big screw you to Odin, who thought he could replace Kratos as Atreus' father.
"Grandpa Sicko Mode" nearly made me ruin my keyboard with a bombardment of dr.pepper

RAGNARÖKIN NÆR
Music, power, actor, personality, and so on was PERFECT but let's be honest he was little bit weak for all father and for final boss wich is sad but Odin itself was a PERFECT and so unique villian all the game history I love him
AWESOME!!!
Honestly I resonate with Odin, I can see where he comes from, thanatophobia is fr something on another scale of Phobia, and honestly kinda wish he won
Bro lived that long just for some outsider to kill him
@Undisclosedsmug Well he got what he had coming for him. Still stoy would've hit harder on Odins character if he "won" in Ragnarok, unlocked the secrets of the rift, would've hit heavy if it showed him that only damnnation was in store because of his actions, could've had a whole fourth battle where he went full mad, Acting like a wounded dog thrashing to survive
@CombatDummyIAwell it took Kratos an army of elves, army of the dead, freya, and ragnarok to do it
These chapter titles are the greatest shit 😂
What a nice father, surely he won't do something that crossed the line.
Fr though, good mix!
just imagine In the third game Forseti along with Sindri,Sinmara,Hermod,Vidar and Vali could be the next Villains Avenging the death of the Gods and the destruction of Asgard with a new Asgard building and they try to get revenge on Kratos and Atreus/Loki as well as Hela/Hell the Loki's daughter,Sigyn and the Loki/Atreus himself as a villain he is the final boss
would be incredible to see and still bring the Dead Gods back Like an extra secret plan of Odin that maybe he could still be alive just like his Huggin raven Who Survived the final battle and this can be used in some way with the help of Forseti and also Thor could still be alive and bring back the Thor's sons and Baldur & Thor himself
and they could also include the Norse heroes Siegfried/Sigurd and Beowulf They like Enemies for us to face and also the animals of Odin,Freyr and Thor That the wolves and the Horse from the all father Odin, the Boar of Freyr Gullinbursti and the Thor Goats did not appear as well like the good and peaceful Gods who were mentioned in 2018 but have not yet appeared such as:
Bragi,Nana,Meili,Idunn,Hodr and Ullr
and also explain who the mysterious wolf Hrodvitnir is the possible father of Skol and Hati and explain what's happened to him and where he is and it would also be amazing to fight Against the Kraken and explain what happened to the 3 dragons brothers What did we free and where are they
Imagine all these characters/Gods,more stories of the giants who died for Thor but were not placed and told/used in the game,More Valkyries,Norse Heroes and Animals/Creatures appearing in the next game or in more dlcs would be incredible
another game to close the Norse Saga and also an origin game Telling the stories and living them as they really happened Mainly showing Feye's story With the stories of Mimir/Freya and the Mural/Tales of the giants and seeing the news giants that were not placed and their stories were not told because in the original mythology some that were not placed and they were killed by Thor together It would be amazing to see the others Vanir and Aesir Gods and their War that These others Gods exist in this universe would be great I hope this happens in the future.. 🤔🥺😎👍🙏🙏 like and Bye!

(Edit) the names of the individual sections are fucking genius lmao
Odin could be done differently WITHOUT losing the sense of intimidation from being a God/Daimon. Like, have Odin physically be of a similar build to Kratos but leaner due to relying more on cunning and mysticism, while the beard commands a sense of authority.
@@DarsiPadilla sure, but that would eliminate a lot of the patheticness of odin, which is one of the most interesting parts of his character
