another pro tip: add noise suppression after the gain filter and set it to speex. for some reason it hard clips the audio and makes the audio quality even worse.
I remember getting an audio gainer and it was so loud it would retroactively pick up the noise from the headset and put it into the microphone and it got louder and louder until you turned it off. Same as when you put 2 phones in a call next to each other
