How is this gonna be equal being that the dc and sundown both call for a box half the size of the dd woofer. Dc wants a max .3 cf box, the sundown wants a .35 cf box and the dd wants a max .75 cf box. You built the box to the specs of the dd woofer. How is this gonna be even close to a fair competition? And what happened to the db drive 6.5 sub that was supposed to be involved in this?
DC performs best in small enclosures. I wish people would stop throwing them in big boxes. They have different suspensions made for small enclosures.
The sundown 6.5 is built for a small box too. This is just setup to make the dd sub shine. @@adamblacketter
He puts every sub in oversized boxes.the fact is these subs Will all be within one db of eachother which you can’t hear.

I got 4 of the DC in a 1.25 box. .65 is double what 1 needs.

I love sundown but i dont understand why the u 6.5 and the sa v3 8 only has the little holes around the coil for cooling. I have a sa8 v3. Great subwoofer and gets loud an low in my single cab. But i have it inverted to save enclosure space and the small cooling holes makes it sound like i have air leaks in my enclosure and 100 percent dont. When i cover up the holes for a few seconds while playing. it is very clean and loud. But when its not covered you can hear the air like theres leaks. Its not smooth flowing. The x 8 is done right with the center cooling added with the outer holes for more air to escape and for a cleaner air movement. Besides that great subs. Thats my rant lol god bless 👍
yes but also db big subs dont have it bcuz it forces air on the sides of the coil according to the techs

The only way to make this a fair and equal competition would be to build a .3 cf box as this spec falls in all the subs range of spec. The only one built to perform in the box that was built is the dd. The db drive would perform well too but for some odd reason it was left off? This is just a setup to make the dd way outperform the sundown and the dc subs. I had respect for this channel until he started all the hating bc sundown obviously did something to him.
Can wait to see how this turns out...the 6.5 game is very interesting
lots of 6.5 hate out there. Good custom boxes seem to be the replacement for displacement.

Hey man I just stumble across your channel but my question is do you make custom boxes and if you do I’m looking for a horn ported box for a 15 inch sub and what do you think is better a horn ported where the sun is inside the enclosure or outside and hopefully you understand what I mean thanks

I’m guessing the sundown is so noisy is because he has no venting on the pole piece, and the vents he does have on the coil are smaller than a straw. I think Jacob REALLY fell off there.
Like MB said, Jacob is a bidness man first. I don’t think he was trying to win any new customers, rather give another option to his loyal customers
So help me understand the noise the sundown was making chuck. It really sounded pissed off.

@Chuck_Sanders I have three of his subwoofers two fi hc 15s and one neo 4.11 18 the neo gets warm faster than the hc 15s but hc series can take a lot of abuse and barley gets warm
@Chuck_Sanders so if the neo gets hot after time, what do you mean by time? And if there is adequate venting is that an issue?

I love ct, and run all ct meso componets, and amps, but they aren't in the same class as these high quality subs.
The Sundown definitely has dual spiders
It may have a dual glued spider but it definitely one spider on the basket. Fact

@markfrederick5012 I can't comment on that because I never owned DC audio I didn't want to buy one because I saw on RUclips video that they don't hold up under pressure now Dd is a different story you can abuse them all day as long as they are in the enclosure Dd recommends

@markfrederick5012 Dd for the win low distortion subwoofers the best ones are hand built in the United States I paid 1359 for a 9918 Dd it hasn't broken in yet but the bass is solid The next subwoofer I would recommend is Fi then psi then def bounce then sundown
