    These TI chips are legit. I recently purchased an amp that was rated 400 watts into 8 ohms? 600 into 4 ohms. This amp was based off of the EAS D400 rev B GanFet module and I absolutely hated it. Yes it had the power but it made all of my speakers sound thin and brittle. Maybe true audiophiles have fun listening to no body or dynamics and brittle sound but I had to send it back. Wasn’t for me. Just amazing how much the TI chip sounds better than the more expensive class d ganfet modules. I’m still a class A/B guy at the end of the day though. Lol.

    • @NosEL34

      Try a Hypex Nilai. Or if you want to hear a proper GaNFET demo a Starkrimson Ultra. Those 2 amps will change your thoughts on Class D. Or a Bel Canto E1X if you really want to have your mind blown

    • @FidelityNation
      @FidelityNation 15 дней назад

      @@NosEL34the GanFet I was using was using a hypex psu. 2000 watt rated I believe. Digital only input. I do like the Purifi modules better. I am really interested in OrchardAudio. I’m wouldnt mind to experience that “class A sound” with a class D GanFet implementation. Just don’t feel like dealing with the wait times.

    • @NosEL34
      @NosEL34 9 дней назад +1

      @@FidelityNation the Nilai uses a different power supply & feedback loop vs all the other hypex modules. I've had the older hypex modules & feel that the different PS & further extension up top has really improved the overall presentation. I found it to not be 2 dimensional like past hypex. You can actually hear reverb & decay in the notes with a smoother presentation. It really is different in my opinion. I always liked the Purifi's better. But compared to the Nilai just not as smooth & still a hair analytical. Purifi still had stronger bass.I haven't heard the new monster power Purifi though. I only heard the Orchard at the Florida audio show. It was fast, full, & impressive. But I haven't tried it in home so I can't speak too much about it. I really wanted to try the Orchard offerings but someone convinced me to try another Hypex..plus it was cheaper & available. I'm glad I gave the Hypex a try. I still want those Orchard mono blocks in my home for a spin though. Nothing but rave user reviews.

    For me, the speaker and electronics combo I can’t stop coming back to despite having much nicer gear in my house, is the Infiniti Primus 363 floor stander and my AXR100 integrated amp. I cross them over at 60hz with my SVS PC2000 pro, and 2.1 just sounds so amazing. Warm, wide, dynamic, detailed, thunderous, whatever you wanna say. It just sounds good. When I swap out for my separates and my Danish made high end driver/crossover/cabinet speakers with 7 channel up mixing for spacial cues and ambiance, the sound is objectively better in every way, but I don’t get as big a smile as I do with my 300$ towers and 400$ amp fed by an optical cable on my PC. It’s odd, but maybe the fact that I know how much money I spent on that 7 channel setup just eats at me a little bit. Lol

    I’m sorry. The faceplate is a bit of a mess on that Advance Paris. It can’t totally be helped - what you have is two typefaces plus the digital display for input - so it looks like a mismatch - five colours - the blue, silver, the darker silver for the logo, and a bright white for the source selection, and the orange glow of the tubes. I think the lack of cohesion makes it look cheap.

    @cheapaudioman I have seen a few of your videos and love the cost effective solution you share.
    Now I have some investment plans ongoing so cannot invest in a new audio setup. So, I was thinking about building one from whatever is available with me.
    1. An old LED FHD TV (not smart TV) for Display
    2. Old Dell Studio laptop, with 5.1 channel support & Realtek HD Audio ALC888 onboard.
    3. Creative 2.1 speakers with decent bass for front speakers.
    4. BPL Double cassette player with line--in option, stereo support with surround sound setup (2 speakers per channel). Very crisp & clear sound. Planning to use these as back surround speakers.
    Problem: As soon as I set the sound card to 5.1 the base is very much reduced in the 2.1 speaker and I don't have any center speaker & separate subwoofer.
    I do have a few bluetooth speakers with aux-in but that woofer is the major missing part.
    Is there any other way to configure the above setup?
    If not, can you recommend a product for missing speakers (only subwoofer or may be both subwoofer & center speaker) that I can also use with any other home theater setup that I may purchase in future.

    Still thinking about getting the J2 AKM version, but I fear I will not hear anything different compared to the built-in DAC on my CD player, which is Burr-Brown Delta Sigma. From what I understand it is the op-amps that make the notable difference. So for $10 more I could go with the J2 Socketed, the only problem is that I am restricted to the same op-amps on the J2 as the other amps are expensive, except for the Burson V5i and I don't know if swapping that will have any improvements of the TI amps.
    What I need to do is have a nice conversation with Geshelli.
    Not a fan of Denafrips. They are going through some stuff now anyway and likely won't be around much longer.

    Totally agree with the Michell and Rega combo. I have the Dynavector 10x5 mkii on mine through a Graham slee gram amp preamp. Sounds amazing. You should get the clamp as well and I would get the orbe se over the gyro. It’s only money 😮
    I don’t get the VU meter obsession. Unless they are properly calibrated they are just eye candy - which can be fun for a while but are not necessary. Back in the day my JVC JAS22 amp had them and they were nice but the ones on my tape deck were more useful for recordings as you could learn where the headroom maxed out irrelevant of the display.

    I know this might not be the best place, and Randy please erase this comment if you deem that it is inappropriate, but:
    Following all the hype on YT and partly your glowing review of the V3 Mono, I've ordered a pair directly from Fosi Audio. The "dispatch date" was listed as Aug 8th - 18th initially, then it moved to "around" Aug 28th, and today I got an e-mail saying it was moved to "around" September 6th... who knows when and if they will be dispatched at all.
    Just a heads up for the people ordering from Fosi - be prepared for a long wait. I believe they will deliver in the end, but when, it's a serious question. It's somewhat looking like the Tesla Model 3 scenario 😒😒

Not to mention, hardly any really great American companies make the cut. Save for brands like Schiit and Klipsch. There are other great companies out there like Rogue Audio just to name one. Look back at past videos and tell me that the same brands don't pop up time and time again. I love Randy's input and style. I just wish the brand reviews were a bit more diverse. Randy, I need to ask you a question about a piece of equipment. Well, to see if such a thing exists. I will go ahead and ask here....I am 61 and I have always (along with records) loved cassettes also. I have a cassette deck now that I can't record with because my Rotel does NOT have a "tape out" . I can play them, but I can't record to them. I know almost all the modern amps do not have this. And I don't want to have to go buy another piece of equipment JUST for this purpose. I have seen things like switchers that you can add into your system, and other "add ons" that you can just add to a system. I wish someone made a box or something that you could plug into your amp with an aux jack maybe that JUST had tape in and outs. I know that sounds dumb. But, it would help people like me tremendously.

    I'll bet that you don't realize that you are toooooooo close to the Camera , it's like you creeping into my personal space and I'm needing to back up . ( Coffee Cup gimmick needs replacing )
