Im so grateful for this detailed video. Im trying to learn more about the OT profession. There hasn’t been many videos made by OT’s. It seems like nobody wants to promote the profession lol.

I just found your channel and appreciate your content! Im thinking of a career change to OT and am in my late 40s. I have been a caregiver to my dad who had a brain injury and have learned so much. I desire a field where I can work one on one with patients. Would you recommend OT as a career that would promote one on one work with patients? I live in New England and do not know if the wages I found are accurate. 🙄

OT is definitely a field to work with patients one on one. It can be hard with the patients who don’t want to work but it can be rewarding with the ones who do. Ask around and find OTs in your area to shadow on instagram to ask about salary. Hope that helps!

I just found your channel and this is great! recently just transferred to CA from the Philippines! And will be taking my masters soon. Just wondering if it's the same situation for pediatric settings?

What areas do you have the most experience. Anyone will hire you for acute rehab, Skilled nursing, or home health. Hospital is more difficult if you don’t have experience.

Hello! You mentioned buying your own healthcare. I've had to do this and bought from the Healthcare Marketplace or Golden Rule United Care. I found that doctor's would not accept this insurance. What has been your experience and what insurance would you recommend? Thank you for your videos.

I would check out health sharing ministries. Some require you are Christian and some do not. I’m Christian and chose liberty Healthshare. It’s cheaper than other insurance.

Do you know what the setting in Florida you can make at higher rate? What if you’ve been working in pediatrics? How do you make the switch over to hospital setting any any advice would help? Thank you.

My best guess in Florida would be acute care. You can transition to hospital based care by learning acute rehab. They should hire you and give you mentorship.
